"during times of plague, there will always be those who can't rest until they've become infected"

Welcome to You're Mad!
Or, more importantly, welcome to rabies-ravaged Prague in the not-too-distant future.

We're the latest and greatest in the unique roleplaying environment. If you've ever had that one strange, eccentric, totally unique character that simply didn't fit in properly anywhere else, then this is the place for you.

Why? Because we're all a little mad here. In... er... both contexts of the word, if you catch my drift.

Okay, so first of all, this is one of the most creative sites I've seen in a really long time... so mad props to you. I've got a couple questions, if you don't mind. :]

First, is the rabies epidemic like the rabies we know today? If so, why didn't the pharmaceutical companies just mass produce the rabies vaccine?? Actually, bam, that's a character idea in the making...

Second, what happens if you're caught out at the wrong time? I.e. I'm a nighttimer out at daytime.

Third, what kind of documentation do you carry to prove what time you are? Are there false identification cards and stuff?

And finally, this is kind of an unanswerable question... I like this site, but where is it going? Are people just going to get sick, or will there be more to it than that?

Thanks, sorry, I'm super annoying.

One more.

If you were attempting to change your "time", how long would the process take? Is it just something you go visit the government for and are approved, or is it like getting your visa where it could take a month?

Oh man, you are so not annoying! haha. I love the questions. Gives me a chance to play with the ideas about what I want out of my little world. =D So thanks for asking! ... I'llll just go in order!

    1. It definitely started out as the rabies we all know and love today, and wasn't a big problem to begin with. A few cases here and there which were diagnosed and treated when necessary. But it became sort of a status symbol amongst the Nighttimers, just another subculture thing, to have contracted the disease, so the virus had time to spread and adapt to the new circumstances-- biological warfare. Since the first "outbreak" occurred mainly within the Nighttimer community, the Daytimers immediately ostracized them, and so the Nighttimers began using the disease against the Daytimer community. But this doesn't really answer your question. haha. Even if the governments of all the infected cities mass produced and handed out the vaccines, it would only do well for the people that want to not have the disease... but other radicals would probably keep it around. Plus, the vaccine comes in the form of a series of shots that one must have over the course of three to five weeks... So for those "poorer" folk that don't have medical insurance or any other means to pay, it would be an issue also. So, in theory, it's entirely probable that the government has tried to issue vaccines... but I also wouldn't put it past the government to only supply vaccines in Daytimer hospitals and such. Because they are pigs.

    2. If you're caught out at the wrong time, your punishment will ultimately depend on the "cop" that catches you. And that is up to Big Brother. ;D Really, it's just a surprise, sometimes minimal, sometimes not. I'm pretty sure the most "epic" thing I have lined up would be actual "jail time" in which you cannot post IC for a day or two. The rest is pretty goofy. Though I was thinking of implementing a monetary system, but if that's the case it would happen a bit further in the future.

    3. ID's would definitely have another little category stating you as a Daytimer or a Nighttimer. So, just as well as you can make a fake ID these days, you could probably get one to change your status.

    4. It definitely is an unanswerable question! haha. Because depending on how established the board becomes, it could go one of a series of ways. But I am a fan of big plot twists, so there's that, if nothing else.

    5. In my head, the process takes anywhere from one to two weeks. In character time, anyway. They'd have to take some sort of qualifying written test to prove suitability, handle forms, and get a new ID. Like getting your new driver's license in the mail or something similar. In our time, it would probably take a couple days... because I like making people wait for things. =D And I don't imagine it will become a problem, but if too many players start flopping their characters back and forth between Daytimers and Nighttimers, I'll employ the use of a switch limit. But, like I said, I don't think it'll be a problem.

Sorry those got sort of rambly! I didn't really have to think about it all before, haha. I'm a simpleton. But I hope that helped! If you have any other questions, definitely just let me know.

"No, I love her character, she stays."
"Love has only gotten you in this position, I say kill her off!"
"Yeah, but you say a lot of things... and how does that work? You're a bicycle."
