As you'll all find out eventually, I'm a very big gamer. A lot of my free time goes towards owning noobs in Halo 2 or Battlefield 2. My XBL gamertag is Deadly Doomham, if anybody wants to play. Some of my favorite games of all time have been: Legend of Dragoon, Final Fantasy X, Ninja Gaiden, Super Smash Bros. (1 and 2), Megaman (all of them), Paper Mario, and Far Cry. I own every video game console in existence, except the xbox 360. If anybody wants to talk nerd, come to me cool.gif

I generally stay away from console games (though I do have my nice collectiong of supernintendo games) I'm more of a PC gamer. Or I was...until my roommate's video card crashed and he moved into his gf's place- a situation that quickly turned me into a mac gamer. Right now I've got return to castle wolfenstein, halo, the medal of honor warchest, rise of nations, EV NOVA, and unreal tournament 2004.

I do PC/console. I only have a PS2, but I have Halo for PC. I enjoy Square games and a good RTS is appreciated.

I haven't played that many PC games, except Myth, Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo, and Age of Empires.

I've been a hardcore gamer my entire life. I have almost every console. I never bought a PS2, I won't buy a PS3, and I have an Xbox 360 currently.

I play World of Warcraft, and I'm an avid roleplayer. I love it. I have Xbox live, but I haven't converted it over to my 360 yet.

I wish I had a 360. I'd buy Oblivion, because Morrowind was the best RPG on the xbox (except for KotOR, of course). The PS3 is going to be so much better than the Revolution or the 360; no crashing, equal or better online capabilities, more power, faster, less-useless wireless controllers (the battery life on the 360 controllers is atrocious). Here's the hitch: there won't be any good games for the PS3. And the controller looks like two dildos held together by a thin plastic bridge.

I actually laughed out loud about that controller thing, that was great.

I really just bought the 360 for Halo 3, and hoped some games that would make it worthwhile would come out, heh.

I think the PS3 will have good games in time...the PS2's strong point was game library, after all.

Besides, PS3 has square.

Yeah the PS3 will have a few good games, I suppose. Twisted Metal, Metal Gear Solid, and Final Fantasy spring to mind. And Ninja Gaiden 3.

Yeah, Halo 3 and Oblivion are gonna be my reason for buying a 360.

its funny I had totally planned on playing a lot of games this semester. I even got two new ones before I came up, and its kinda a waste now since I'm never playing them. Its funny because I've kindof exchanged intellectuly stimulated atheistic research and conversation for mind numbing shooters.....

and now maybe I think a little much- I should probably balance of my Think with shooting

lol, I tend to have the same problem. I used to be a hardcore Halo 2 junkie (my clan, FBN, was once the 9th best in the world) and I would play with all the famous greats. Now I spend more time reading books on science and philosophy or sitting here typing in atheist forums.

My verdict: think while you play!

Video games, if you play the right ones, can be very intellectual. I prefer half an hour of Halo to half an hour of...most television.

I don't have an Xbox, so I have to play Halo on my PC.

Am I the only one who thinks that Halo has got a lot of anti-religion bent in it? With the Covenant and all?

I tend to see anti-religious imagery in many games I play. Final Fantasy X was a big one, and Morrowind, and yeah, there are a lot of subliminal messages in Halo. For example, the Covenant and their corrupt High Priests. Also, the ship at the end of Halo 2 which has the power to activate or deactive every single sacred ring is called The Ark.

Hell, the very idea of the weapon capable of destroying all sentient life in the universe being called a Halo is cool!
