Post our related essays?

Since we're on this site, we are all actively interested in Atheism and philosophy and religion, and I know I've personally written several essays related to these subjects. I think it'd be cool to have a system where we can post our essays (personal or school) that relates to these interests in some way. I know I could benefit from reading others essays (no copying please) and checking out different ideas, styles, and sources.

Hey, that sounds like a great idea to me! I've written a few essays myself, though none directely related to atheism yet (they're more about philosophy and politics and such). I suppose we could copy and paste, if need be. . .

Yeah, under one of the subheadings. So each essay has its own topic and people can comment on it if they decide to read it just for fun

I'd have to fix it so that only mods/admins could post, and you'd have to PM the essays to a mod/admin otherwise...that way it stays intelligent.

So the first topic would be an explanation of how people post their essays (I.E. PM them to an admin/mod). So new topics could only be made by admins/mods- could those then be open so all users can freely comment on the essays? I think that would provide good feedback (I'm now thinking about in the future posting essays I haven't turned in yet so as to get thoughts and improve the paper)

I believe so, in the Admin CP I can edit permissions There are several permissions: Read, Reply, Start are some of them...so I'll make it so that everyone can read, set reply to mods, admins, and normal members, and then make start only for mods.

Hey, you know what would be a great idea? If we could post sound/video clips as well as essays. Songs and videos and such! It'd be so great.

Yeah that would be pretty neat too. Only one potential problem though once we get more users- I've been on forums before that were very active (a magic trick forum) in which lots of videos were posted, and they used up way too much of their host's bandwidth and got completely shut down. Of course there we several hundred active users on that site...so we'll good unless this forum gets really rockin

Back to the essay thing though? are you going to put that up, because I can't figure out how to make a new subsection (probably because I can't)
