Long ago, or perhaps it wasn’t so long ago, five packs ruled these lands. Shadow darkened all, often challenging other packs, spreading fear. Forest was a peaceful, yet strong pack. It had many wolves in its ranks and were respected through out. The mountain was dabbled with misfortune, murder and betrayal, despite its kind, loving ways. River was fairly small, known as being neutral yet was never challenged. Fire was short lived, the youngest of all five packs. It only ever had one alpha, yet he led it well.

For the most the lands were happy, till the curse came. A travelling wolf, named Ajged pasted the lands. On his travels he met a young female, a member of the forest pack and the two talked. The female noticed the male had something wrong, yet he said it was nothing more than a cold. While they were talking the traveller collapsed, the female carried him back to her pack, crying desperately for some help. The whole pack tried to help him, the brought him water, kept him warm and fed him. Despite all this though he just became worse, he lost sight in both eyes and started having hallucinations. Later in the night he died, the pack mourned for his loss and buried him.

The next day another wolf of the Forest pack fell ill, the pack tried everything, yet they also died. A couple of others fell ill, another died yet one, the stronger of the two survived, yet was disabled and blind. It didn’t take other long for the other packs to discover this and they tried to keep their distance, but, despite the precautions they took wolves in their own packs fell ill.

The Shadow pack decided to face the illness and get rid of it for good. A wolf was ordered to slaughter all those who carried symptoms of the disease, and that he did. He travelled to each pack concealed in the night and murdered all those who looked ill. The bodies were dragged away and thrown of the cliff where they couldn’t harm any living beings. The wolf returned to his pack with pride, and told them all how every single infected wolf had been disposed of. “Well done” the alpha cried “you’ve done a good job”. All of a sudden he looked away and towards the pack, he gave them a nod and looked back towards the soldier, a humoured smile covering his face. “Sorry” he laughed, watching as the rest of the pack jumped towards the wolf and tore him apart.

Although every wolf carrying the disease was killed by the Shadow pack member it still managed to infect other wolves. More died in every pack and soon enough the wolves realised they couldn’t fight it. All the living wolves fled, abandoning packs for safety. Some died, some became disabled and some lived, nearly all suffered emotional scars.

V2 is set a few years after “the great curse”, as it’s called, when wolves are beginning to return to these lands. Wolves have renamed the lands, hoping to wash away any memories the illness and new places have been discovered. You may replay any old wolves that have survived or create new ones, keep in mind it has been a couple of years since the disease.
