So, first of all, WELCOME TO CARPE OMNIS! We’re glad to have you, and we’re very grateful for any consideration you may give to joining us here. Let’s start our initiation, shall we?

Alright, alright. So, there’s a lot to go through here. But it will help us out as administrators and you as a member to make sure you’ve gone through all the necessary steps before roleplaying. It will explain how the game is played and will hopefully avoid some confusion. :)

To begin, I’d first like to introduce you to our admins –

JENI – She is the brilliant one who came up with the idea for CO all the way back in September of ’08, and has kept pushing us forward in creating the site. Her super brainstorming powers have formed and refined most of our canons, plots, and subplots. Without her, CO simply would not be. She currently plays Dovie King, Justus Saint, Maya Bhatti, Charly Gabrielson, and Miriam Salvatici.

JUNE – That’s me. :] I’m the self-appointed head of graphics and the general ‘look’ of the site, have written many of the documents you see in the info section, and encourage Jeni to drink enough caffeine to get her brain to go on plot overload. I currently play Isaia Salvatici, Haleigh Taft, Aden Saint, Eve Sauveterre, and Carver Gabrielson.

Feel free to contact either one or both of us at any of our character accounts if you have any questions, concerns, or would like to plot. We are always open to suggestions, and love love love getting plot and other input from our members. We never want to be the sorts of admins that absolutely must control every aspect of the site – we recognize that without the members, there wouldn’t be a site. So please, let us know your thoughts. :]

Now, onto the main course. The registration checklist!

Now, BEFORE REGISTERING, please be sure to do the following:

[x] READ THE RULES – We know, no one likes them, and we’re sure you’ve read these same rules billions of other places, but do at least give them a quick run-down. As annoying as they are, they are necessary so that you can know what kind of environment we have here and the kind of behavior we expect from our players.

[x] READ THE INFO PAGES – This is basic stuff to get you acquainted with how things work around here and some things we might be refering to. :)
___OUR MOBSTERS – This thread will explain how our mob families work and how they are different from the more traditional mafia. It’s a very important read – to keep CO as diverse as possible, we have broken some of the ‘rules’ of a traditional crime/mob family, and this thread goes over that.
___D’AMBROSIO RACKETS – This thread will explain what kind of underground dealings the D’Ambrosio family is up to.
___MANCINI SALVATICI RACKETS – Like the D’Ambrosios, the Mancinis Salvaticis have their hands deep in the criminal mire as well, and this thread explains what they’re doing and how.
___There are other information pages there as well, but they are not required reads for registration. However, if you get the time, they would be good to go through as well. :]

[x] READ THROUGH THE CANON AND ORIGINAL CHARACTER LISTS – Take your time, we realize there are quite a few. It will tell you what kind of character groups there are, whether these groups are accepting canons and/or originals, as well as provide info on each of the canons, show what kind of original positions are available, and give you the codes for reserving a canon or original position.

[x] READ THROUGH THE PLOT AND SUBPLOTS – Yes, like our canons, there are quite a few. However, you need only familiarize yourself with the plots surrounding the character you may be interested in playing, and we’ve provided links to the related subplots under each group’s section of the character page. I.E., all members a part of or associated with the D’Ambrosio family will be involved in Subplot A, or all members of the LVPD will be involved in Subplots Y and V.

Once you have gone through this information and have decided that CO is a place you’d like to be, then it’s time to…

[x] REGISTER! :] – We’re an account-per-character game, and request that you join simply with your character’s first and last name in proper capitalization.

[x] RESERVE YOUR CHARACTER – If the character you have registered as is a canon or is a special original position, please remember to reserve them. Codes for such reservations are available on the first post of the canons thread.

[x] SUBMIT AN APPLICATION – Our application process is short and sweet, and we’ve given you a week to complete it. We base most of our acceptances off the roleplay sample provided, as we are an intermediate-advanced board, and will expect you to post as such after acceptance. Once you have submitted the application in the SUBMIT forum, please wait for acceptance before playing.

We are usually very quick about accepting applications. All of the admins know what we expect from our members, and any of us are on quite a few times during the day. So keep checking back! When we accept your application, we will move to the appropriate subforum under the POLICE FILES section, give your character their own graphic, add them to the rotating character slot in the sidebar, and update our lists.

You’re almost ready to roleplay! There are just a few steps left, being…

[x] FACE CLAIM – This is only needed IF you are using a PB, which we do not require here on CO.

[x] HOUSING AND BUSINESS REGISTRATION – This is also optional, should you feel your character should be provided with an apartment/house or request for a business. Apartments and houses are usually processed quickly, but businesses often need to be gone over by admins before approval and will be posted as pending until a verdict has been reached.

[x] ANNOUNCEMENTS AND RECENT EVENTS – We try to keep everyone up-to-date on everything in the game, so giving the most recent threads in these categories a look will help you immerse you and your character into the current times and feeling of the game.

[x] PLOTTING BOARDS -- Not really required, but we thought we'd make a note here to say ABUSE THEM. Whip out the handcuffs and make them your bitches, because we want you to share with us all your plot wants and needs. We love plotting and we want everyone to feel like they can have a piece of the action, but sometimes we need a little help, too! So get out that whip and start plotting! xDD

And so, that’s it! You can begin roleplaying now! Optional things include posting relationship charts, wanted ads, shipping pages, and communication threads. We all want you to feel like you can really jump right into the game, and will try to help you out as much as possible. As always, if you have any questions whatsoever, contact any of the admins (Or the members, for that matter, they may be able to help you as well) and we will do our best to help you out. The main admin account is CAPO CRIMINE, each of the admins’ characters are listed above in this thread as well as in the sidebar, and we’re always accessible through the c-box.
