The victim was discovered on January 2, 2001 in a stretch of sea between the Island of Levanzo and the Maraone reef in Italy.
Death is estimated to have occurred a month before discovery.
State of remains: Advanced decomposition.

Vital Statistics
Estimated age: 40 - 50 years old
Approximate Height and Weight: 5'3" - 160 cm
Distinguishing Characteristics: Stocky build.
Clothing: A dark brown or purple pyjama and underwear of excellent quality, all of it made in Italy. She was also wearing a miniature nameplate with "Maria" engraved on it, two bracelets, two necklaces and a ring with a green stone.

Case History
This victim was found in Italy in 2001. There are photos of her jewelry below. During a broadcast, a Brazilian viewer called and said that some of the trinkets might have come from South America. "Children give them as gifts to mothers or grandmothers. That would mean that the women has two grandchildren, or two children".
