Circumstances of Disappearance
Nicholls had been living at a foster home on Royston Road in Comox Valley, BC. She had an argument with her foster mother, who watched as Lindsey walked down the driveway towards Royston Road, presumably on her way to nearby Courtenay. Although she had run away before, her foster mother told police she didn't think Lindsey had any plans to take off that day. She left all her belongings and treasures in her bedroom.
The petite teen had been troubled since her family moved to the island from the Vancouver area, missing her friends and sometimes running away.
