Attention Boat Owners/Operators:
The Coquitlam RCMP are coordinating a public Safe Boating Day to be held at the Grant Narrows Regional Park and on Pitt Lake, Sunday, June 11 from 10AM to 4PM.
Come and visit the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary display and learn about safety on the water. Courtesy checks of vessels will be available at the boat launch. The Coquitlam Detachment patrol vessel will also be on hand.
Other agencies attending are: Transport Canada (Office of Boating Safety), Fraser River Port Authority vessel "Port Fraser", The Coquitlam Fire and Rescue Swift Water Rescue Team, and other local Search and Rescue teams.

The Federal Contraventions Act and Regulations were recently adopted by the British Columbia Government. This legislation allows enforcement officers to issue prescribed penalty tickets for contraventions under the Canada Shipping Act and Regulations as well as other Federal Statutes. PLANNING HAS STARTED. The Abbotsford Police Department is once again hosting the annual Police Challenge Run. This year’s event will be taking place on September 23, 2006.
The Abbotsford Police Challenge Run was started 15 years ago to raise funds for BC Special Olympics. Since its inception, the number of participants and sponsors has increased to the point where the Abbotsford Police Challenge has become the premier event of its kind in the Fraser Valley. The Abbotsford Police Challenge is committed to being a family oriented event and for those who don’t run there is a 5 kilometer fun run/walk route so no one is excluded from participating.

The RCMP Canadian Sunset Ceremonies were created to thank Ottawa and the surrounding communities for their ongoing support of the RCMP and the Musical Ride.
The RCMP is pleased to present this year's Sunset Ceremonies. The theme of this year’s performance is “Celebrating Healthy Active Living”.
This year’s line-up promises to be memorable! From the world-famous Musical Ride to the fast-paced Equestrian Abilities Show and the Mounted Arms Display, there is something for everyone. The RCMP Mare and Foal, the Police Services Dogs, the RCMP Emergency Response Team and many other local entertainers will also be on-site to entertain spectators of all ages.
Rain or shine, this event runs nightly from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the home of the Musical Ride - the RCMP Stables at the Canadian Police College. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the show!

The Police Games are a family show with entertainment, athletic competitions, bicycle races, obstacle courses, police dogs and tug-of-war competitions. The event will kick off with the annual March Past, complete with representation from Peel, York, Toronto Jail, Durham, Military Police and the OPP and Police horses. This event supports the Widows and Orphans fund.
