We still have a case on Brian, but the Chicagp PD has closed their case and removed him from NCIC, so he is no longer on our website. After an intensive search, we found Brian's mother but the police will not take a DNA sample from her unless they have an open case and the sample is only good for CODIS if the collection is done by an active and sworn officer. We are working our way through our favors list to resolve this situation. The DNA of the decedent is in CODIS so if this is Brian, if we can land the mother's DNA, we should have our answer.

The only remains found was a partial skull. The entering office chose to use an old and very inaccurate formula for the height, and so the 5' 8" listed for the decedent is a SWAG, but probably between 5' 6" and 5' 10" for certain.

We have a good candidate for who this might be, and if it is him, he would have been about 21 when he went missing so not on our site. He went missing one county over from where the remains were found, but that only makes him a little more promising.

We are continuing to push Brian's case, feel free to contact me on the status anytime. Thanks.

Sadly, no. DNA for CODIS has to be taken by an active sworn officer.
We could not, when we had mom willing, get a police officer to do it.
Now we have one to do it, we cannot find mom.

Sent a letter last January to a new address we found, but no one
responded.

There has been a mitochondrial DNA profile obtained with the skull. The State Crime Lab is still working on the case too see if there is a match with other possible matches. If you have further information e-mail me again.
Thanks, Det Mark Robinson
