Fictional authors are the best authors around because they use imagination... not fact based books.... thats what history is for..... a book will always need imagination and a sense of fiction in it to seem good, but at the same time, make the work of fiction seem real....

Read any of Churchills books on WW2 to see why you dont have to be writing fiction to write amazing books.

Not all non-fiction is about world history. There are some great autobiographies out there.

Love non-fiction, but fiction would have to be Tolkien, Terry pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Lovecraft and Edward Rutherfurd.
