welcome to the second coming !
congratulations! and welcome back to the board known as sweetlittleLIES. you've made it thus far, just keep on reading and you'll be all good to go.
as i'm sure you've noticed, the banner beneath the board header tells you that we're only accepting original canons and new originals. and i'm sure you've questioned what exactly that means. well, i'll tell you, my dears. this board is on its second version - meaning it was opened and active once before. at that time, there was a canon list for both canon and original characters. those characters that once inhabited the board are what the staff considers original canons. these characters were here through the board's rise and falls, and are welcomed back, even without the original canon list, with open arms. any other character that is new to the board and was not present prior to the board's closing will be considered a new original. these are the only characters that will be accepted onto the board as it is.
as i'm sure you've noticed, there's a completely new layout on the board. and because nika is picky like that, there is a new application template up. now the good thing for all returning characters is that they get to use their old applications to fill out the new ones.
yes, there will be a new canon character list with new secrets and new subplots for everyone to enjoy. that's just going to take a little time.

I'm not sure if I mentioned it, or if anyone was about to ask, but I thought I would clarify, for the record:
Any and all plots start at the roleplayer's discretion. If you had a plot going on with a character or two, you can pick up where you left off before the board closed - HOWEVER, you must not include any previous information [ie, Homecoming] in the plot. Or, you may start over from the beginning of the plot, in case you'd like to do it over. That's all up to you.
