Technicly speaking its not Sims 2 related but it soooo fits. I have come to the conclusion that the inventer of the Expansion Pack must DIE. It may sound silly but when your installing Sims and NL and Uni and OFB and Seasons and Store Edition it crosses your mind more than afew times

I have to agree with you.

My case is different;

I lent a friend my Sims collection and after a few months asked for them back. She told me she had traded them in for a Playstation 2 and Guitar Hero (this was a while back when Guitar Hero 2 was new.) I was a little outraged but wasn't sure if she had done it intentionally or not, she had told me she thought I "Gave" them to her.

ANYWAYS I contacted EA with the CD keys (i'd saved 'em - ehehe, good thinking on my part) and they agreed to allow me digital downloads for each if I paid 3.00 USD for each game (the price of a replacement CD)
So I agreed.

The downside? I've got the Sims 2 to download (gonna take a night or so) and all 3,000 expansions! I'm debating whether it's even worth it haha.. but I did already pay the 3.00/CD.....

But I know the feeling Coffee lol.

playing sims is worth it in my opinion . Ill say this though i hope youve got an exelent connection cause it will take a long time to download ..

If your into the whole object mod thing i strongly suggest getting the royalties mod from mod the sims 2 and placing at least 2 on the walls. Its a huge help if youve got a fortune sim or are just moving them in.

within afew paintings your sim will be bringing in 100s of simoleions literaly over night

Hm; I'll have to look into the Royalities you mentioned. I usually mod the sims up to a certain point. Nothing ground shattering or game altering but such things as new items, custom houses, clothing, reskins, and the occasional code change, etc.

But you're right, It is worth it. A lot of my friends laugh and shake their head when I tell them I still play the Sims in the gamer era of Metal Gear Solid 4, Fallout 3, and Fable (all of which are great games in my opinion) but... eh- I still love the game.. Can't wait for Sims 3.

...Though not looking forward to the 50 expansions to come..

LOL agreed Keys. the scary thing is they even admit there will be expansions for Sims3....and people will buy them. Im not so sure if its the game itself thats addictive about SIMS as the sheer amount of CC that you "have to have" . im tellin ya Downloading CC for sims is a diease

It truly is. You can;t help yourself. You buy the game and notice there's something missing like Seasons (which I hope to GOD they include in the base install of Sims 3. Don't leave it out for an expansion... FFS we already have it in the Sims 2 as an expansion. No need to "expansion-ify" it for the 3rd installment.) and then jump out to the store and buy 'em.

I dunno; While I hate what it does to my wallet and bank account.. I do enjoy the expansions and I can't really blame them. With so much Piracy out there, releasing more and more expansion packs means that you're getting more sales (even though piracy continues with each expansion...) and thus more money.

NOT to mention it is EA.. Greed central! Choo-Choo!

Ah well. Like i said; I guess I can't complain too much. 'least they don't charge us 49.99/pack.

Unfortinately weather isent in the base game BUT wind is so my best guess is that there will be a seasons style expansion.i just hope thy dont do Stuff packs . theres no point to em

I honestly don't get the point of the stuff packs- Like the Ikea pack and what not. WHY?! Why not just include that stuff in the other expansions?!
