If you've never RPed before, you probably don't know how any of this works. If you have RPed before, you should still read this, as it contains information related specifically to PaNG's RP.

First, you get the profile template, from the Profile Template thread. It's recommended that you write it up in Word before you post it here. I will write up a sample profile as I go along.

You start with the basics: Name, Alias, age, money, and Continent. These are all self-explanatory. You start with no badges, ribbons, or symbols.

Money On Hand: 5000P
Continent: Hoenn

Next is the history. Try to stay away from cliches and try write at least one paragraph. As an example, I'm going to basically write a bio for Hoenn's main character. *note: Your parent CANNOT be a gym leader*

History John was born in Johto, where his father was a renowned trainer. Because of this, John grew up around pokemon, and couldn't wait to get one of his own. When he was 11, his father moved to Hoenn, where he became a gym leader. He and his mother moved there a year later, to Littleroot When he got there, he saved Professor Birch by borrowing a pokemon, Treeko. As a thank you, the professor gave him the Treeko, along with a Pokedex, which spurred John on to get gym badges.

Next is a personality. If you're new to writing and RPing, I'd suggest using a personality as close you your own as possible. YOUR CHARACTER CANNOT BE EMOTIONLESS.

Personality John is a rather funny person, often making wisecracks whenever situations get too serious for him. He's confident, but somewhat lazy and a bit of a coward. He's really social, talking to people he's never met before as if they were his best friend.

Next is physical description. This is pretty self explanatory, but try to make it realistic. No morbidly obese/anorexic characters unless that's part of who they are. Try to make it longer than mine too. D:

Physical Description John is short and somewhat chubby. He has curly brown hair and blue eyes. He always wears the same grubby gray sweatshirt.

This is also pretty self-explanatory. You shouldn't have too much, but just enough to fit what your character would have. No TMs though.

Items Carried
Items: Potion x 2.
Key Items: Old Rod.
Balls: 10 Pokeballs.
Berries: 10 Berries
TM Case: None

Your storage box will be empty when you start. You'll add to it when you get over six pokemon in your party.

Your current party. This is where it gets harder. First, you have to figure out where you're starting. In this case, John Smith is starting in New Bark, meaning he can start with only Torchic, Treeko, Mudkip, Poochyena, Wurmple, or Zigzagoon. Basically, anything from New Bark and the surrounding Routes. If you're in a town with a Gym Leader, the gym leader can give you a pokemon (see the list in Databanks), or else it works the same way as New Bark (with the exception of the actual starters). When you choose, give them a nickname, gender, type, origin, ball, and level. The level will be low unless you have a good backstory.

Next is personality. Pick one out of the pokemon natures list.

Personality: Lax

The held item for your starter at first should be a berry, if anything. You won't get anything like a Magnet or Soft Sand for a while.

Held Item: Berry

Moves. Whatever they would know at their level. Check Serebii or Psypokes for these. You can have four total. They won't know any HMs at first.

Moves: Pound, Leer.
HM Techniques: None.


And that's it for your profile. When you're done, post it in this forum, not the country subforums. They will be moved there by mods or admins when it's approved. If it isn't approved, we'll work with you to fix it.
