Welcome To the Obsession Studios Academy!
News and Information

Alright, people! It would appear that we have a really full student load! Therefore, I'm going to close applications for now, EXCEPT for PS Elements, because we still have a couple slots there.

Because the chat and request forums were recently switched to over to Obsession-Studios.net, I've added some new forums. There is now CHAT, FREEBIES, and CRITIQUES forums available. Please try not to spoom the chat board. If you really feel the need for silliness, the spoom board is alive and well at OS.N (link above).

Name: Meowmix
Contacts: horsecraze5@aol.com
Favorite Style: I love ethereal/fantasy pictures that make you feel like you're poised on the edge of something, whether it's physical or not.
Favorite Subject: Um... Horses, mostly because I have the most use for them. I feel uncomfortable using people pictures most of the time and I haven't done much experimentation with other animals yet, though I do have some lovely wolf stock...

I used:

-Freehand (edge seeker) tool, mode: replace; feather: 0; smooth: 20
-Freehand (freehand) tool, mode: remove/add; feather: 0; smooth: 0-10
-Push tool with medium-hard softness to touch up a couple spots, namely the right ear and a bit of the rump

Wow -- that is perfect. ^-^ I have nothing to say, because you've done it all correctly.

You know how to smudge? If so, go ahead and do the mane -- we'll pretend there is some wind. If you don't, just say so. tongue.gif

Guh. I couldn't make it look right, so I kind of gave up and decided to just put it up.

Oh, and I'm leaving for Seattle tonight. I think I'll be able to get onto the internet, but I don't think I'll be able to use PSP 'til Tuesday when I get back.

Hmmm....very interesting. ^-^

You really could have left just about everything alone and only smudged the left side of the mane, perhaps just pull out a few pieces. From what I can see you have the brush settings right, just did it on a strange area.

*** Next Assignment ***

Select any horse, in a full-body shot, and place it on a dark blue background. Please provide a link to the original horse image.

Hmm...what tools did you use, and what settings on them, if you can remember?

Sorry this took so long. Our internet has been down for .... four days? But it is all working again. tongue.gif

Some of the edges on the horse are blurry, while others are sharp. Also, the back of the front legs is kind of choppy. You should be able to go through with the eraser, or with the paintbrush, and touch those little things up. ^-^

Hmmm...

Cutting:

-Freehand Edge Seeker, smooth 5 (I think)
-Freehand smooth 0-5 add/remove
-Soften tool & Push tool (which accounts for the fuzziness)

Smudging:

-Smudge 2-3, varying opacities (I can't remember)

^.x It wouldn't go straight 'cause my mouse is spazztastic. -goes to fix-

I am sooo sorry this took so long, I've been busy all week. Anyway, I'm leaving tonight and I'll be back on Sunday. Here's the piccy:

I went through and used the sharpen brush, tried evening out the edges a little. Didn't work as well as I'd hoped-- I'm working off of a laptop b/c somebody's made off with my spazztastic mouse.
