Motc Membership, Place for questions and discussion

Hi eveyone. Just have some questions that maybe a member could answer for me. For instance, I'm volunteering for the Trial on Easter and I noticed that working at the trials count toward active membership credit and something about points accumulating?? What exactly is this for, what does it mean?

Also, is there a membership book that we get once we're members? If so, when do we get this?

One more thing, what about the member meetings~when are they and what's usually discussed?

Our club has Active and Subscription membership levels. Subscription members receive our newsletter and vote, but do not receive class discounts and training privileges. Active members receive the newsletter, vote, class discounts, and training privileges. In order to qualify as an Active member you must volunteer for a minumum of one club activity per year. Club activities that qualify include the Rally and/or Obedience trial, phone inquiries, instructing classes, serving on the board, demonstrations, and working on the newsletter. New members receive a copy of the club rules and constitution.

Club business meetings are held on the first Wednesday of March, June, September, and December at 7 pm at the training building. The members are updated on Board decisions, committees make reports, and members can bring up any issue they'd like pertaining to the club. Members are also permitted to attend and address the Board of Directors meetings which are held generally once a month but not always at the same date according to circumstances. Usually Board meetings are held at the training building 6:30-9:30 pm. During the winter months they may be held at a Board member's home in order to keep heating costs down at the building since it requires heating the entire building not the meeting area.
