Where is Hood's body? Does Daseem actually know Hood is dead- out of reach forever dead? Any ideas? |

Dassem definitely knows. Rake told him, and it's remarked how Dassem is broken.
As for his body... it's a very good question, and I have honestly no idea. I'm unconvinced he's entirely physical anyway though. Clearly he has enough of a head for it to be cut off, but still, not convinced he'd leave much of a corpse behind. |

Ok, I'll have to read closer again, but if Rake told him, why didn't Daseem just walk away? Why did he continue to fight Rake?
And I would like to sort of know that the Hood body disintegrated into rags or something like that. I mean, the head went flying? |

When Hood showed up in the physical realm, it was described as a full manifestation. He was there in person and that's why he was able to be killed.
Pg. 794 As for his body, when Daseem sees Cotillion when he enters the city, a Hound is found chewing on a headless body. It's probable that its Hood because the Hounds of Shadow were there when Rake killed Hood.
Pg. 828 Also, Daseem fought Rake because he still wanted Hood's soul I'm assuming, so that he could get his daughter back. On page 855, Rake says "If you so want Hood, come and get him." |

I think they would get new bodies.
Don't have GotM here, but does anyone know if the two Hounds bodies were still there when Paran returned? I've always viewed Dragnipur as a physical realm and that the people who are sent there are granted a new body with which to pull the cart. |

In GotM, when Paran returns, the bodies have disappeared and there's a few bloodstains left over.

Interesting? Now were those bodies reassembled when the Hounds got them back...

The Hounds in GotM were pulled bodily into Dragnipur. It's Paran touching the bloodstains that are left that enables him to enter the sword without being chained, because of the blood-link to the Hounds.
We don't know if those Hounds ever got another physical manifestation 'cause we've never seen them again. I'd love that to have been Hood's body the Hound was chewing on. That's a great visual. Normally I'd rep you but, well, you'll have to wait till Anomander pays the sodding bill! |

No, the Hounds were not pulled bodily into Dragnipur. Paran walks up to the bodies to examine the wounds, touching the blood to get pulled into the sword.

yeah g21 is right the hounds are lying on the ground in fact I'm pretty sure Paran thinks that at least one of them is carrying a wound that isn't enough to kill it.
That however seems a bit at odds with the part where Rake kills the Galayin lord who is described as being wrapped up in tendrils or some such |

I thought that the tendrils were due to the different nature of the Galayin Lord. A being not from this realm the sword had to make sure that it got all of him. At least that is how I explain it in my head

I'd really love to see the scene where Rake takes Dragnipur from Draconus....what are the chances either SE or ICE will give a flashback like that?

I wonder if that would be in the next set of books that are suppose to be on the Andii civil wars. |
