Fujian and Jian head to ba'sing Se

[Fujian]

The street glared with resentment, faces enveloping the mind of the innocent twisting their demeanor into blank or hateful stares. The world is revolving around hate, never again polite comments or smiles toward strangers. Everyone and everything perceived, as shaded versions of ones own self-doubt marketing the world as a cold rumination of what’s to come.

Fujian continues to walk towards the great city people who pass ignorant the kindness inside the two boys. "We are only coming here to do good for there people why do they assume everyone’s just coming for free food and safety?" He says as he looks towards his brother.

His cloths tattered browns and greens his hair wild with the obvious travel the two had done. Tired and saddened by the images he had seen, however he continued towards the end destination. "Well we should be ahead of Jet by quite a bit what do you want to do once we get there brother?"

[Jian]

It was hard to navigate through the large mass of people who were all trying to take refuge in the great city of Ba Sing Se. Jian had to keep checking behind him to make sure his brother was still with him. At any moment he could turn around and his brother might be lost in the huge swarm of people, and he didn't feel like looking all around for him. "Way too many refugees..." he thought.

"We are only coming here to do good for there people why do they assume everyone’s just coming for free food and safety?"

"Because most people are here just for that reason. Their homes have been destroyed and they have no where else to go, Fujian," he answered while pushing past a large man who was in their way. That was why they had to help. The Fire Nation was too reckless and it was getting on his nerves.

"Well we should be ahead of Jet by quite a bit what do you want to do once we get there brother?"

"Well.... we have to actually get into the city first. And then we should probably just find a place to settle until Jet finds us," he reasoned. It was the only thing they could really do afterall. The outer ring would be the farthest they'd be able to go since they had no passports and no money to speak of. The outer ring was full of refugees and the poor. There would probably be thieves as well; who would get their heads knocked in if they tried stealing from him.

[Fujian]

Fujian looks down frowning he was hoping for a more stable answer then the ones he got. Then as he raised his head back up his face fills with joy as he raises his hand pointing forward.
“Look Ba’sing se!” The cities wall was huge much bigger then even he had imagined. “Wow how do they make something THIS big!” He said happily “Let’s go brother!”
Fujian runs ahead grabbing Jians hand and starts pulling him to the gate while running as he’s running he cant help look at the massive emblems on the sides of the wall “Wow!” Fujian however runs face first into a 6’5 massive man who was bent over, that man gets bumped head first into some old man who for some reason was sitting on the ground with this big loaf over him. The man turns around angrily and says “Hey you little bastard watch where the hell your going and he goes to grab Fujian’s collar and raise his other fist as if to knock his lights out. Fujian looks away and cringes.

[Jian]

He let himself be pulled by his brother as they headed towards the city. He stumbled a few times, but it was okay.

Apparently Fujian hadn't seen the enormous man in front of them, because he ran straight into him. If it had been a nice man, then it would've been fine and they could've continued on their way but...

“Hey you little bastard watch where the hell your going"

Immediately - before the man could grab his brother's collar - Jian lunged at the man and shoved his fist right into his face. The attack had little effect as the man just stepped backwards slightly. The boy saw this and so he grabbed his staff out from it's holder on his back and he pointed it at the man.

Infuriated, the large man began to step forward to punch Jian now. He swung his staff at the man's feet to trip him and then he grabbed his brother quickly and continued on in the direction they had been going. "Okay... almost there!" he grinned as he saw the gate getting closer.

[Fujian]

Fujian now being pulled by his brother he looks back to see the large man beginning to get up looking angrily towards them. Damn he means to come at us again. Fujian runs forward again grabbing Jians hand “Let’s go fast before we reach the line!” They rush forward and eventually run into the line. It doesn’t seem too long considering the amount. Looks like a steady flow but not too overpowering.
Now in line they slowly move forward and Fujian looks back to see if he can spot the large man but he was not on his radar. Fujian turns and smiles as he waits to be checked in.

[Jian]

The line grew shorter and shorter until they finally made it to the check-in-lady. Jian presented both of their identification papers to the woman.

She looked at the two brothers and then back at the papers that they had given her. "Alright..." she stamped the two papers. "Welcome to Ba Sing Se."

Jian took the papers back from the woman and they were then led to the earth tram. They had to wait with the other refugees until it arrived.

The tram brought them all the way to the lower city, as far as they'd be able to go. "Well, we're here..." he said quietly so that only Fujian could hear him. Now they had nothing left to do except wait for Jet.

[Fujian]

Fujian jumps up in excitement “We are here! Lets go!” Fujian grabs Jians hand and begins to run about the city pointing out random things “ Look it’s a shop JUST for tea! Oh my gosh look it’s a fountain! Wow this place is awesome LOOK a weapon store. We do have a decent amount of money wanna look for new staff?” Fujian looks at Jian with excitement hoping that he would be almost as pleased with the city as him.

“Come on!”

[Jian]

His brother's excitement was justified. It was such a huge and amazing city. Jian looked around at everything his brother pointed at. It was definitely different from anywhere they had been before.

But he couldn't help but see all of the poor people who had to live there everyday, and then the people who would mug helpless old people and young children. The lower city wasn't a very nice place at all. "I think my staff is fine for now," Jian laughed at his brother's comments.

His stomach started to growl suddenly. "Are you hungry? We could get something to eat," he shrugged.

[Fujian]

“Yah Yah lets get food! This place here looks great!” Fujian pulled Jian to a near by restaurant. “Hi! We want some food.” he said to the greeter at the door. The man replied ’How many?”

“UH Just us please!” The man showed them to a table and handed them a menu. “What’s this thing” Fujian began playing with the papers the man gave him. “Do you think they have possum worm here?” he looks up happily at Jian.

[Jian]

"I think this has the food written on it..." he grabbed the papers from Fujian and looked closely at them. "Hmm" he scanned the menu quickly, not that there was much on it. Only a few different meals. "Yeah they do," he raised an eyebrow at the thought of eating something like that. He had never liked possum worm like his brother did.

The man came back to them quickly to take their order since there wasn't many people there. "Possum worm and Spicy chicken cow," he told the man. He left to go get what they had ordered. Jian looked around, some of the people in the restaurant didn't look too friendly.

[Fujian]

Fujian started to get real exited when his brother told him they had possum worm. “Yea YEA WOOO!” Fujian jumped up from his seat excited. “We should of came to this city along long time ago!” However happy Fujian was his happiness did not carry over to the next table a group of 3 refugee’s sat there and they were less then pleased about Fujian’s enthusiasm. Fujian heard out of the corner of his ears them making comments about him so Fujian sat back down a slight frown appeared and he started to calm down. He looks back at Jian. “Spicy chicken cow. That’s way expensive!” as he looks to the menu. “Um I don’t think we have enough for all of this” He said softly.

[Jian]

"Uhh... we do, don't worry about it," he said with an un-sure expression on his face. The boy took out their bag of coins - it wasn't very full at all - and he started to count them.

A couple of mean comments coming from a diffrent table made his eye twitch in annoyance. He looked at the table of refugees out of the corner of his eye but he didn't move. If they got kicked out, then he wouldn't be able to eat the spicy meat that he had just ordered!

After a short period of waiting, there food had finally arrived. The lower city certainly wasn't the best place to get food, but it looked.... decent. Afterall it was at least cooked, most of the way through?

[Fujian]

As the meals come out of the small kitchen Fujian jumps up “Those are ours! “ as the waiter brings them to another table Fujian sits down slouching with an upset look on his face. This happens several times until its finally really theirs. Fujian excitedly starts eating right away even before the waiter finishes putting everything down, he immediately exclaims. “This is the best food I have ever eaten! How’s yours.” As he goes back to eating.

[Jian]

"I've had better. But, it's not too bad," he shrugged while stuffing some more chicken-cow into his mouth. He did love the spicy flavoring though, that was his favorite. And they hadn't eaten in a while, the journey to Ba Sing Se was tough afterall. Jian wiped his mouth on his wrist as he finished his meal.

When they were both done, he stood up and dropped the coins on the table. He made sure the person who had served them the food saw and then he started to walk towards the door. "C'mon" he said to his brother as he walked out onto the dirt streets of the lower city.

They would most likely be waiting for Jet for a while, and they would need shelter until then. The two were used to sleeping outside so it didn't matter so much if they didn't find a place to sleep, although it would've been nice.

[Fujian]

Fujian stands up and follows Jian out the door yawning the whole way. “Yea brother where we going to sleep? Because I am tired” Fujian gives a small frown.

“Maybe we can find jobs tomorrow or something too. While we wait for Jet that is.” Fujian continues to follow Jian walking with his hands behind his head looking up at the sky.

“So what do you think our part in the world is? Or at least our part in the war? I wish we were older people just don’t take us serious enough being this young. I mean I would love to march up to the earth king and ask what he wants us to do. But he would just laugh and tell us to go home to our mom’s”

Fujian frowns as he continues to walk. He lets out a sign and grabs his book and starts writing
“The silence lost never to regain its past strength. Helpless but not powerless hope dissipates from our thoughts as others silence our intentions.”

“It’s a shame I would love so very much to help. I think our parents would of wanted us to help too.” Fujian slows his pace slightly so he starts walking a few paces behind Jian so that his brother cant see the tears start to form from his eyes. He quickly regains his composure and continues walking to there new Temporary home.
