Hey there, my name is Skye. I have been roleplaying for about 3 years. I am a GIRL, I DO watch Avatar, and I enjoy writing- both fan fiction and actual fiction.

APPEARANCE.
Daren is TALL, like six foot two.. He is very well muscled. His eyes are odd, for a fire bender. They are silvery blue, but they will turn gold if he is angry. He has a creamy complexion. He has broad shoulders and a generally broad body. He weighs around 250 lbs....but thats mostly muscle...there is practically no extra fat on him. His skin is far from flawless, it is covered in scars, both burns and cuts.
Daren's hair is pitch black, when down, it falls about six inches below his shoulders. He usually has it up in a high pony tail.
Daren can use daggers, he carries a matching pair with him at all times, and he is very skilled with them. They both have black leather wrapped hilts. There blades are exactly six inches long, and kept razor sharp.
He also carries two fans with him at all times. Now, I know what your first thought is when I say 'fans'. The fans in question is far from what you would expect. Enclosed in silk, are very very sharp steel blades, an unexpected weapon. The silk design is intricate, but it centers around a golden dragon, on a black background. He keeps the blades on the fans even sharper than his daggers.
Now, I have completely disregarded his out fit. Daren wears a soldiers armor under normal circumstances, in battle, in the War Room, in practice. The only places he does not where soldier's armor are when he is among his closest friends, court, and in bed. When he isn't wearing his armor, he wears traditional Fire Nation robes. Also he always wheres a small amethyst pendant that once belonged to his mother.
PERSONALITY. Daren is a fairly withdrawn individual. He does not trust people very easily at all. He is a very sweet person. From the outside he looks hard, you have to really get to know him to see the softer, gentler side of Daren.
He is bad about bottling his emotions, that’s really his way of ‘dealing with the pain’. He doesn't talk with most people about anything.
Daren is a very quiet person. He does not talk about his feelings, but if you know him very, very well, you can read him like a book. When he is really angry...he gets deadly calm, as if everything were absolutely perfect...thats when it is time to get very scared....because Daren is not TOO easy to get that angry. If he is angry.,..or even slightly aggravated at you, DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT get in his face. The first thing he will do is push you out of his face. The second is to hit you.
When Daren is upset, he gets very closed, even his closest friends may have trouble reading the signs correctly. He rarely cries...but when he does, it is usually alone, where no one can see - or hear - him.
Daren can push his problems to the back of his mind as necessary. He works very well in high-stress situations. He is a fairly good leader. He is strong and trustworthy, never breaking a promise. He does not trust people easily, unless he has a good reason to. He bottles his emotions. Once he comes to trust someone, he very rarely stops trusting them, no matter what they did. During Storms, Daren gets seasick.
HISTORY. Chin-Mae was born to General Shang and Seria Lei. Seria was eighteen at the time, and General Shang was twenty six. Chin-Mae was their first - and only - child. Seria was not a bender, and no one was really sure what nation she came from. She caught pneumonia when Chin-Mae was three, and she died.
Anyway...back to Chin-Mae. For the three years that Seria lived, she was very kind to Chin-Mae. They lived within the palace. Chin-Mae was there when his mother collapsed coughing. Within three weeks, she was dead. Chin-Mae was there as she died. He's father was out, on Azulon's orders...but returned as soon as he could at the news of his young bride's Death. From that point on in Chin-Mae's young life, his father raised him.
At the age of seven, Chin-Mae's bending surfaced in an explosive manner, and Shang immediately began personally training his son in the ways of Fire Bending. Chin-Mae learned quickly, and very well. He was a good student, practicing efficiently, without the distractions that most students allowed.
At ten, Chin-Mae entered the Academy, to learn more of the ways of his nation. Daren studied hard, but made few, if any friends.
At fourteen, Daren was given a mission by The Fire Lord. He was to be accompanied by a General other than his father to complete it. It was to 'Prove his loyalty and worth to the Fire Lord' in other words, it was something to test him with...something Azulon didn't want to risk someone more important on.
The reason for this mission was quite simple....if somewhat crule seeming to Chin-Mae. The girl was the child of a powerful Southern Water nation tribe member...and she may have the ability to bend when she grew up. In the death of the girl, two things would be accomplished, a blow would be delt to the man, and yet another waterbender would be killed before they could come into their powers.
So, Chin-Mae went to the water nation to complete the task...he had to kill a six year old girl. Chin-Mae was never the same after that. Not even physically. Chin-Mae carved and burned the water nation symbol into the flesh of his right leg.
Chin-Maeis still in full contact with his father, at least when either he, and General Shang are both at the palace, or stationed together.

And yes, I look like Hell, but so do you." Daren said quietly, gently this time, rather than yelling at her to understand. He touched her hand very gently. "See, my fault, not yours." He murmered, soothingly, trying to calm her. He could, and did read the emotions on her face. |
