[dohtml]

Ollie was a fairly confident person, everyone knew that. He was one of those rare people who actually liked who he was and didn't care what people thought of him. Sometimes it was a bit of a bad thing, but mostly, it was a great way to live. However, his brilliant confidence was taking a bit of a knock tonight. He'd asked Anber out on a date - their first date. On Valentine's day. It was a bit cheesy but Valentine's day gave him the confidence to ask her out - it was the day of freaking love. And the day of bee keepers... Ollie added mentally while slipping on his jacket. Any other day, asking Anber out on a date would've been a big step. It was a smaller step today. Lots of friends went out on dates. It was cool.

Ollie had considered taking Anber to a big, flashy restaurant or doing something really big. But that wasn't really them. If he was asking Norah out, then sure, he would've had to have done something like that. Or he at least would've felt like he would've had to do something like that. That's why he preferred being with Anber. Things with Norah were exciting at first - she was older, popular, a cheerio. Everything he was never supposed to have. But everything eventually got complicated. It was too much drama and it just wasn't working. Anber was just what Ollie wanted in a girl - someone he could have fun and relax with, someone he could be himself around, someone who shared his interest in music. And she was gorgeous, too, which of course helped.

Ollie had decided that he and Anber should go bowling - he'd texted her about it earlier that day. Bowling just seemed like something they'd both have a lot of fun with. And he was sure it would get competitive, which was always fun. He'd bought her a rose and chocolates - the rose was a bit out there but he knew she'd love the chocolates. Who didn't love chocolate, after all? He walked back and forth outside the bowling alley waiting on Anber, rose and chocolates in hand. He kept reaching up to fix his hair and was constantly adjusting his shirt. This wasn't really normal behaviour for him, but something about this date was just making him uncharacteristically nervous.

[/dohtml]
[dohtml]

Anber's room was an absolute disaster. It looked as though the Tasmanian Devil himself had passed through about ten times. This was very much unlike her. She liked her room organized and clean and wanted to be able to see the floor at all times. However on a day like today, this was not at the forefront of her mind. Ollie had asked her to be his Valentine and to go out on a Valentine's Day date with him. At first, she was completely fine with the idea. It was rather exciting actually; she hadn't ever been someone's Valentine before. But now, she was turning into a total wreck over the whole thing.

She knew that whatever it was that they were doing, it was going to be casual and fun. That's how it always was whenever they hung out. But this was a date, not just any usual hangout between the two of them. Originally, she had about five casual dresses with various cardigans laid out on her bed. Sure, it was February, but that was what tights were for. Dress, cardigan, tights, and either her ballet flats and Toms. That wasn't too bad of a selection to make. It was all laid out the night before the actual date. It was when he texted her that morning to tell her that they were bowling when she started to freak out a bit. She was a horrible bowler, and dresses were definitely not supposed to be worn at the bowling alley. Plus, if Anber was going to go there, she would definitely need to wear socks.

After thoroughly destroying her room, Anber finally settled on an outfit for the date: her magenta corduroy pants with a nice white top, black cardigan, and gray Toms. She threw a pair of socks in her purse before heading out to the bowling alley. She couldn't help but smile as she pulled into the parking lot. It was easy to spot Ollie with that hair of his. He looked so nervous with his pacing, but it was endearing at the same time. She grabbed her bag and the bear that she got him for Valentine's Day and walked over to him. "Hey there, Valentine," Anber said once she finally reached him.

[/dohtml]
[dohtml]

Ollie was in the middle of pacing when he spotted Anber walking towards him and he stopped dead on the spot. He grinned at her and waved, sure that she could see him. He wondered if she'd noticed his nervous pacing and wanted to kick himself. If there was anything worse than not being confident like he usually was, it was people noticing it. He wasn't really one for hiding things, though. When he was little, he was often compared to Tinkerbell - not because he was effeminate, but because he normally only felt one emotion at a time and he made it crystal clear what exactly it was that he was feeling. As he got older, his emotions matured, of course - but his ability at controlling them didn't develop much at all. Trying his best to control his nerves, Ollie counted to three in his head and took a deep breath just before Anber got to him.

Ollie had always been fond of teddy bears and stuffed animals. When he was little, he had a teddy bear that he carried around everywhere. His mother threw it out when he got into his teenage years - which was one of the many reasons he disliked her so much. He couldn't help but smile when he saw that Anber had gotten him a teddy bear. "Hey," He said, his voice breaking a bit. Once again, he wanted to kick himself. He covered his mouth and cleared his throat. "Uh, these are for you." He held out the rose and chocolates and smiled at her, successfully looking calm. For now.

[/dohtml]
