Title: News:Abnormally cold weather slams midwest U.S.
Raptorblaze - January 15, 2009 04:54 AM (GMT)
An arctic airmass has moved south from Canada into the midwest region, dropping temperatures to record lows not seen in almost a century (for example, today in my city we broke the record low of -10 set in 1914, not including windchill) Temperatures are expected to drop even further thursday, friday, into early saturday in southwest Michigan (once again using my region as the example) temperatures will plummet to -25 and high winds will cause bitter temperatures and :) school closings :) abound. The temperatures will approach a phenomenon between the Celsius and Fahrenheit scales when, at -40, the two scales both represent the temperature as -40 degrees.
*all temperatures in Fahrenheit in this post

It would NEVER get that cold in Florida, the lowest was I think 36 degrees with a -2 degree wind shield as long as I've been here, and that was only once.

Michigan state law is that schools may NOT open if the temperature (including wind chill) is below -20 anytime from the hours of 6:00 to 9:00, so far its been hovering around -18 all day but tomorrow is supposed to be around -25 to -35

I remember it hitting 28 degrees once down here. But yeah, Florida doesn't get too cold.
