the journey to find the others, Takuya's re-awakening, after the battle

Takuya was finally able to open his eyes after being unconscious for god-knows how long. He was lying on his back, so when he looked up, he could see the sky, and the sun shining down on him. The sun was bright, and Takuya tried to move his hand to block it out, but was still too weak. As he looked around, he could see that he was surrounded by what looked like corn-rows. For a few moments, he could not think of why he would be laying in corn-rows.

"Huh...I don't get it, the last thing I remember..."

He remembered fighting Arkadimon, and that there had been an explosion when he and the others as Susanoomon had gone head to head against the dark Digimon...but that's where everything went dark.

Suddenly, remembering the others, he propped himself up on his elbows as well as he could, and looked around. Seeing no one, he began to yell,

"Kouji!!!...Kouichi!!!...Izumi!!!!?....can anyone hear me? Chris!!!...Ran!!"

Takuya then tried to get up, but he was still weak from the explosion. Thinking of giving up for a bit, Takuya remembered how hard he and his friends a had worked to follow after the Garurumon, even though they had no powers, and he thought of how hard the others must be working to find him.

"They wouldn't give up like this, so who am I to give up?...Come on Takuya...you've been in worse pain than this...you just gotta get up..."

He then forced himself up onto his knees, and slowly found the strength to stand up. He then checked his pockets, and found his D-Scanner, still intact. Remembering how Izumi had been able to contact him two years ago when he was trapped inside Sefirotmon, he tried to reach the others, but wasn't quite sure how to do it. He started pushing buttons, and said,

"Can anyone hear me...hello?... Kouji...Izumi?...can anyone hear me?...this would be so much easier if Bokomon were here...I'm sure his book has something on how to talk to the others on this thing. Hello?"

As he kept pushing buttons, the D-Scanner Map came up, with several blinking lights on it. Thinking that they had to be the others, Takuya picked the one that appeared to be closest to him, and started towards it, hoping not to have another run-in with Arkadimon along the way.

OOC: My modding muse is kinda dead... would you like Takuya to do anything here or just be directed to Red Ruby Rocks to join with the others. I don't want him to join them quite yet, but soon... Within a few posts I'd say.

(((if you could have him attacked by something, just so i can get a feel for what battle is like on this forum, and to make sure i have the japanese attacks down, then direct him to Ruby Red Rocks, that would be nice. Since I'm close to the school, maybe i could run into Tsunomon/Gabumon, and see how much he's progressed with his fighting skills in the last two years. Or maybe a threat to the digimon school catches my attention?)))

OOC: I don't think Takuya would know about Gabumon. I don't remember Izumi and Junpei telling him... But something attacking the kindergarten works.

IC: Before Takuya had the chance to begin following any of the icons on his D-Scanner's map, an explosion sounded just under a mile off, where the Digimon kindergarten was located. It was shortly followed by others, though they didn't seem as loud or as damaging. Because it was some distance away, it was hard to determine just what was the cause of these simultaneous explosions, but one thing was certain. They most definitely weren't anything good.

Takuya ran towards the explosions, and finally came to a cliff overlooking a field, and a building of some kind. Takuya also saw that the building had a playground, so he guessed that it was somekind of school, but no one was playing on it. Instead, several young digimon were running around scared, and in the middle of the playground was a large fire lizard Digimon that Takuya didn't recognize. He pulled out his D-Scanner, and the digivice registered that the large creature was Salamandemon- the fire salamander monster. Takuya then heard someone yell out,

"Petit Fire!!!"

Takuya looked up, and saw a Gabumon attacking the large fire creature. At first, he though it was black Gabumon, but because of its different colors he knew it wasn't, so he relaxed, but only until he saw the Salamandemon attack back.

"Heat Breath!!!!"

the resulting explosion shook the ground, and then Takuya knew that these two had caused the ones he had heard earlier. However, he still didn't know whether to interfere or not, until he noticed that the Salamandemon was being careless about his attacks, and was getting close to hitting the young children Digimon. His attack also caused fire to hit the school building, so it was soon ablaze. Takuya knew that this Digimon was trouble, and needed to be stopped. Before he spirit evolved, he also saw a large cactus digimon run out of the class, yelling for help, and he also saw the Gabumon get knocked down, and sent tumbling. Takuya then took out his D-Scanner and said,

"It's time to fight fire with fire..."

Digicode then appeared around his left hand, and..scanning it, he yelled,

"Spirit Evolution...Agnimon!!!!!"

As soon as the digivolution was complete, Agnimon leapt into the air towards the school building, and landing near it, he yelled to the cactus digimon,

"Get yourself and the kids out of here!"

The cactus Digimon then asked,

"Who are you...?

Takuya interrupted,

"Just do it!"

The cactus Digimon replied,

"But there are still children inside the school!"

Agnimon then heard the cries of other young Digimon. In response, he jumped up to the roof, and gathered all of the flame on the building into his fists, and aiming his fists at Salamandemon, he yelled,

"Salamander Break"

He then launched the fireballs at the face of the beast, insuring that the school was no longer on fire. The attack knocked Salamandemon back, as he didn't see the attack coming. While the fire lizard was recovering, Agnimon ran over to the injured Gabumon, and said,

"Hey, help her (pointing to Togemon, whose name he still doesn't know) get the others out of here. I'll take care of this guy."

Gabumon looked up, and started to ask,

"Who are--"

Agnimon cut him off, and yelled,

"Move!!!"

Gabumon was unsure of what to do, but hearing Togemon's cries, and seeing the symbol of the spirit of fire on Agnimon's belt, he nodded, and ran off to the school. As he did, Salamandemon got up, and looked over, and saw Agnimon. He then said,

"So...you're the human with the spirit of fire...Lord Arkadimon will reward me greatly for destroying you."

Agnimon, shocked that this guy was one of Arkadimon's minions, said,

"You...you work for Arkadimon...? That settles it, I'm taking you down...you could use a good purification."

Salamandemon then attacked with,

"Backdraft!!", and sent a wave of flame at Agnimon, who responded by unleashing,

"Burning Salamander!!!"

He then absorbed the wave of fire, and sent it back at Salamdemon, who was again knocked back, but not injured, as his element was fire.

Agnimon knew that he needed a new strategy, but for now, he would simply act as a distraction for Gabumon and the Cactus digimon to get the young ones away. He then stood in a defensive position, waiting for Salamandemon's next attack.

OOC: Arkadimon's only ever had, like, two minions. ^^" I'll let it go this time, but from now on leave the NPCs to me.

IC: Salamandemon stood up shakily, but a grin was plastered over his face. Agnimon couldn't hurt him... Not as a fire element.

"Give it up! Your fire can't beat mine! In fact, your attacks are a contribution to my cause. Look!"

Motioning to the surrounding field, it was now ablaze with Agnimon's fire. All it had taken was a few stray flames to spread. Soon the whole area would be scorched if something wasn't done.

"So, d'you wanna attack me some more or do you wanna give up while you're still ahead?"

Agnimon yelled to the big fire lizard,

"I never give up, so you ought to say your prayers."

Of course, Agnimon actually had no idea of how to take the big guy down on his own, so instead, he decided to try and use the surrounding landscape to help him, as he did two years ago after returning from the human world after the first battle with Duskmon. In order to get an idea of what he could do, he decided that he needed a bird's eye view of the scenery, so he then started to glow, and yelled

"Slide-Evolution...Vritramon!!!"

As the winged Vritramon, he took to the skies, and looked at what he could take the big guy down with. As he looked, he saw a river, and decided to use it to douse the big guy's flame. The only question was...how to do it.

He decided that a physical approach would be best, so he flipped himself, and flew straight towards Salamandemon, and attacked with

"Flame Storm!!!"

His hope was that the force of ramming Salamandemon would send the fire lizard flying into the river, where the water would cool him off, making him vulnerable. Plus, the fire from Flame Storm would protect Vritramon from any of Salamandemon's attacks, since the flames would cancel each other out. He just hoped this worked.

When Vritramon rammed into him, Salamandemon flew backwards, not quite reaching the river but landing just before it. With a groan, the Digimon struggled to its feet, but the Beast Spirit of Flame was much stronger than his Human counterpart. Defeating him would be tricky... When he rose, the salamander Digimon turned around and saw the river. Quickly catching on to Vritramon's plan, he stood his ground, but wasn't sure how well he'd be able to resist another attack.

"Is that all?" he jeered, hoping if he infuriated Vritramon it would make his attacks less accurate. "There's nothing legendary about your Spirit, that's for sure."

Vritramon, in response, said

"Oh yeah? You haven't even seen my best yet. Take this...Corona Blaster!!!!"

Vritramon now shot at Salamandemon, hoping both that the force of the attack would send him into the river, and that it would shut him up. As the attack progressed, he yelled

"Legendary enough for ya?"

Salamandemon braced himself and shielded his face with one hand, enduring the attack. It pushed him back a bit, but not enough to fall into the river yet. Once the attack had ceased, Salamandemon crouched and cried, "Heat Breath!!" A jet of flames shot from his mouth, burning up the area between him and Vritramon so that all the grass was reduced to ashes.

OOC: I forgot to say anything about HP... I'd say Vritramon is at about 95 and Salamandemon is at 80.

vritramon was just barely able to get his arms up in time to block part of the attack, which was already weakened due to his fire element, but was still able to do damage. As Vritramon was pushed back, he saw the ground below him being burnt to ashes. Realizing that he was helping to turn this beautiful area into a blackened wasteland made him angry, and focused, as he wanted this fight to end. He started walking through the flames towards Salamandemon, despite the fact that he was taking damage from the fire. When the attack finally stopped, Vritramon was about five feet away from Salamandemon's face, and so, he lowered his arms, and yelled to Salamandemon,

"I'm not going to let you do any more damage to this place...take this...Corona Blaster!!!!!!"

From that close a range, and with an attack aimed right at the face, Vritramon was certain that he'd be able to do massive damage to Salamandemon, and maybe push him back into the river.

Vritramon was right. The close range provided just enough force to knock Salamandemon back into the river, his HP reduced to 40. The lizard Digimon managed to clamber back out, a few meters down, but the flames surrounding his body were put up so that he was no longer shielded from Vritramon's fire attacks. One good strike... that's all it would take to take him down.

Vritramon, now seeing Salamandemon's weakness, took to the skies, and after reaching an appropriate height, turned backs towards Salamandemon, and hurtled towards him, and attacked with,

"Flame Storm!!!!!!!!"

As he zoomed towards Salamandemon, he just hoped that this would be the last attack. He was starting to run low on energy, and could feel the after-effects of the lizard's previous attack. He couldn't keep this up for too much longer.

Almost the second Vritramon's flames touched the lizard Digimon's body, it was over. With out his fire shield he was weak, just enough to have his HP knocked down to 0. His form blackened and a ring of Digi-Code appeared, just waiting to be scanned by Agnimon's digivice.

When Vritramon saw the digi-code appear, he stood before the blacked form and said,

"Slide Evolution...Agnimon!!"

Agnimon then took out his D-Scanner, pressed the button, and scanned the data, absorbingit, and watched as the purified egg floated away. He then reverted back to his human form, and when he was done, Takuya collapsed to his knees, and decided to rest for a bit.

He couldn't belive how tired he was, seeing as he had been in way tougher fights than that in the past, but remembering that he was still probably weakened from the fight with Arkadimon, he relaxed, and tried to get his energy back.

As he was sitting down, the Gabumon from before came over to him and said,

"Hey, that was great! You not only stopped that horrible creature, but you also saved all of the other children, along with Togemon and I. Thank You very much...how can we ever pay you back?"

Takuya now realized that Togemon was probably the name of the cactus digimon, and simply said to Gabumon,

"Hey, don't worry about it, it's all in a day's work for a legendary warrior...however...do you have anything to eat?"

Takuya's stomach had started to growl, and so he felt famished. Gabumon replied,

"I'm sorry, but almost all of the food we had on hand was burned by Salamandemon...maybe if the boy who could become Blitzmon were here, he'd have chocolate that we could eat, but since he isn't..."

Takuya suddenly got up and asked to Gabumon,

"Wait...you know Junpei?"

Gabumon replied,

"Yes, he came by here two years ago, and saved our school from a flood, along with a girl who could turn into Fairymon. They're the ones who helped me to get over my fear of digivolving. They're friends of your's aren't they? I mean, that's why you also have a legendary spirit with you, right?"

Takuya replied,

"Yep...you're talking about Junpei and Izumi, who're good friends of mine. By the way, my name is Takuya."

Gabumon took the outstrecthed hand, and replied,

"It's nice to meet you, I'm Gabumon!"

With that, Gabumon had Takuya come over to the school building, where he was introduced to all of the young digimon, and to the teacher, Togemon. After the introductions were out of the way, Takuya asked,

"So, have any of you guys seen my friends, who are other humans, or a couple of Digimon named Bokomon and Neemon?"

Unfortunately, no one had. Takuya then said he had to leave, and then, after saying good-bye, he headed back to the top of the ridge, so that he could start looking for his friends. Before he was gone though, Gabumon yelled to him,

"Good luck in finding your friends, and say hello to Junpei and Izumi when you find them!!!"

Takuya said he would, and then tried using his D-Scanner map again to find the others.
