Wizarmon looked at the desolate canyon which he and his tribe of Candmon had called home for the last 228 digi-years. But it wasn't enough. Wizarmon was there for way too long. He was seeking something... seeking to help more digimon, not just the inncocent Candmon, none of which had been harmed since he began protecting them.

But these Candmon could now take care of themselves. There had to be somewhere else Wizarmon could do some good... but where? Wizarmon strolled out from the almost-too-perfect cave which he called home. Well, it was more of an 'uber-over-the-top-high-tech-lab' in a cave. The cave was near the top of the canyon, where he only hd to levitate a few hundred meters to be able to get to the top.

Within a matter of moments, the young wizard digimon was staring down at his all-too-famliar home. It had lost it's excitement some time ago, yet he couldn't leave it for some reason. It was at least a few hours past midnight; he didn't see any of the Candmon's flames in the large canyon. They must've all gone to sleep an hour earlier. It was so quiet, so peaceful. What he would've given to have had nights like this when he first started proctecting the Candmon.

Wizarmon craned his head up to glance at the night's sky. The stars were bright and full of promise. He could see many digimon contilations out tonight... one could always see a mutlitude of stars at the canyon. He was suprised he was the only magic-user to come to the secluded canyon.

He remained staring at the stars, looking at the 'Tailmon constilation, when an odd thing in the sky caught his eye. A shooting star coming towardsa him. Calmly, he stepped to the side, and didn't even flinch when the small rock crash landed on the gorund where he'd been a moment before. This was new.

He turned and looked at the stone. It was small, different shades of a beautiful brown, and oval shaped. It was extremely smooth... it would be quite the booster to his newest potion. He pocketed it, and began to creep down the mountian path, looking forward to some rest and another mundane day.

While the other Candmon were asleep, one remaining active, running around the canyon as it searched for Wizarmon. Its flame was smaller and less bright than the others, so it had a hard time navigating in the dark. Several times it ran into the canyon's hard stone walls, tripping over badly placed boulders until, finally, it saw the silouhette of the the tribe's leader, making his way down the mountain path.

"Wizarmon-sama! Wizarmon-sama! Wizar-- Oof!!"

In itss haste to reach its leader, it'd accidentally misjudged itss step and stumbled, falling flat on its face. Looking up at Wizarmon, it sweat-dropped, but then raised itself up again, hopping up and down excitedly as if its recent act of clumsiness had never happened.

"Wizarmon-sama! Wizarmon-sama! Did you hear? Did you hear!? Arkadimon, the wicked devil who seeks to destroy our world has disappeared!! It's true! Those human kids that came from the real world... They fought him and now he's gone!! It's it wonderful!? I'll bet they finished him for good, Wizarmon-sama!"

Wizarmon, at first, was too tuned out to hear the Candmon's scrambling. However, he snapped out of it as he saw the small flame approching. He was about to greet the small digimon, when it feel on it's face in front of him. He mentally noted how embarassing it must have been, and proceded to speak gently with the young digimon.

However, this was unneeded as the digimon appeared unfazed. Wizarmon listened as it spoke of the infamous daemon, Arkadimon, had finally disappeared. But there was no way such a power would be gone for long. He decided not to spook the young digimon by mentioning this possiblity. He smiled, though Candmon wouldn't have been able to see it under the cloth covering half of his face.

"That you, Candmon-kun. I had not been informef of this.... This is indeed an occasion to celebrate, are the Candmon prepearing a festival for this?"

Candmon shook his head vigorously. At first it appeared he wanted to make a guessing game out of this, but he was too exciting to contain anything. "No, they don't know! Even I only learned just now. Aquilamon-han told me. And guess what else, Wizarmon-sama? He met one of them! One of the humans! He carried her on his back to the Reb Ruby Rocks. Oh, I bet they're still there now! If only I could go..."

The disappointment of not having that chance show, but it still was not great enough to mask his joy.

Wizarmon's eyes went wide. The humans at the Red Ruby Rocks? Maybe, just maybe, he could go. Finally leave his life of boredom. This was his chance.

"Candmon-kun, would you like it if I investigated this?"

Candmon nodded vigorously. "Yeah! Of course! Absolutely! Only..." His eyes shifted nervously as he tried to say what he wanted. After re-wording it in his mind several times, he decided the best way was to just blurt it out. "Only... Could I come with you? Please? I promise I won't get in the way. It'll be like I'm not even there! I just would really like to meet them, ya know? They're heroes!"

He trembled with excitement, not knowing whether to be optimistic or the opposite. He didn't want to get his hopes up, after all, but Wizarmon-sama couldn't refuse! Not when he saw how much it meant to him...

Wizarmon was taken by suprise at his companion's request. He looked at the digimon's experssion;Wizarmon would be a monster not to let him come. But... would it be a good idea? He could just send Candmon back if there was any trouble, probably.

But then, it's been so long since he used transportation magic. Maybe it wasn't safe? He shook that thought and looked at the sky. The one thing he'd miss... those wonderful stars. He knew he'd never see them so clearly again. He mentally bid them farewell and turned to Candmon.

"Candmon-kun, remind me, how far are the Red Ruby Rocks?"

"I'm not sure... I've never been outside the canyon. But they can't be too far. They're on the way to the Forest Terminal; I know that much!"

The young Digimon held his gaze on Wizarmon expectantly, waiting for him to say whether he could come or not.

Wizarmon sighed. He couldn't deny his young friend his wish.

"Ok, you can come. So, we might as well get started. Do you think I'd be able to teleport us to a place I've never been, Candmon-kun?"

He decided againt telling Candmon-kun after this adventure, he wouldn't be returning to the canyon. Wizarmon's eyes seemed to reflect his sorrow of leaving his long-time friends.

Candmon nodded. "Of course! You're Wizarmon-sama, our great protector. You can do anything!"

His optimism, even if a bit near-sighted, was enough to fill hope into even the greatest doubter. It was miraculous, really. But an energetic Digimon such as this could never predict danger, and his lowered guard was his weak point. Naivety is often one's downfall, even one so cheerful as Candmon...

"Let's go now!" he urged, wanting his chance to meet the Warrior Ten to come as quickly as possible.

Wizarmon was filled with hope. His companion seemed happy enough, why couldn't he be? With a secret smile, he began warming up the spell. A few handsigns and magic words later, a portal appeared. Wizarmon put his hand on Candmon-kun's shoulder, and they went to a destiantion.... but not, sadly, the right one....
