She probably should have been really nervous about the fact that her - yes, her - Vincent was coming to meet with her parentals. But well, she wasn't, not really. Part of that was because she didn't really care what her parents thought at this point, she was still going to date him, and partly because Vincent was a perfectly upstanding young gentleman who would surely impress her parents. It was already a good sign that they were having him over their home for a home - cooked meal as opposed to taking the family out to a restaurant. So hey, there was already a point for Vin. She assumed that was because Christofer had actually put in a good word, and wow, she was shocked, though she had a feeling that she was just going to owe her twin later. That was okay, he scratched her back and she would scratch his. Or, well, maybe she'd just agree to stop holding the whole 'beating up Adriana' thing above his head. Well, at this point she was going to stop worrying about it because she would have time to decide later.
She all but skipped down the steps wearing a nice pair of jeans and a cute V - neck sweater that was probably cashmere. Next stop was the kitchen, where she took a quick whiff of whatever her mother was cooking before coming up to stand at her side and thank her. Eleftheria just smiled sweetly at her daughter and pushed her off to go wait for her boyfriend. Next stop was her father, who Adriana gave a hug and a smile before making her way back to the foyer. It was a few moments until she heard the indication that yes, Vincent was there, and she all but threw open the door to greet him, throwing her arms around his neck and pressing her lips up against his for a quick kiss. Burying her face in his chest with a contented sigh she hoped that Christofer would behave himself at the dinner and then, well, everything would go according to plan and wouldn't that be absolutely lovely? "Hey Vin." Adriana greeted happily, lifting her face out of his chest to smile at him. "Come meet my parents." Her hand slid into his almost automatically, fingers intertwining as she pulled him through the house to meet her parents, if only because she just wanted to get that part over and done with.

It would have been normal for him to be stressing about meeting her parents. He kept telling himself that, but for some reason his mind and body refused to get antsy about it. Actually, it was freaking him out a little bit, his ability to be chill while he was getting ready to go meet his girlfriend's parents. Maybe it was that he was so terrified of them that he was calm? But that didn't make a whole hell of a lot of sense, so it obviously wasn't the case. He was an attractive, respectful, intelligent young man, and had nothing about him that would call for dislike. That, and it didn't really matter to him what they though. So long as Adriana wanted to be with him, he was going to keep on being with her, no matter what her parents thought (and if they put bars on her window, he'd kick it old school, sneak over to her house and chuck little stones so he could talk with her).
Nope. Even sitting in his Range Rover in her driveway, he wasn't feeling jumpy, or too hot, or nervous. He just...was. As he got out of the car, he looked down at himself just to be sure that he was dressed well enough to look clean, but not stiff and like he was trying to be older than he was. Semi-dark, unripped jeans, a black polo, and a grey male-equivalent of a cardigan. He thought it looked pretty nice at least. Shoe-wise, he had never known what to wear with what, so he wore moccasins, because they were comfortable. Certain that he was, in fact, wearing clothes, he went to the door and knocked, before the door was promptly thrown open and there was a tiny girl pressed into his body with her arms around his neck. "Well, hi to you, too." He teased, wrapping his arms around her waist. A lazy smile stuck to his lips as he allowed her to pull him through the house to meet her parents.

At least Vincent was happy to see her, Addy figured. She knew that the whole 'meeting the parents' thing wasn't exactly any boyfriend's favorite thing to do in the world. Luckily, Vin had agreed to it without much of a problem and he had just accepted the information she had given him, and look at this, he had showed up on time (perhaps even a few minutes early.) Of course, now there was the whole thing of actually dragging him to meet her parents, and she was sort of scared of that part. It wasn't that her parents were mean or anything, in fact, they were excessively accepting of just about anything. (Except when somebody hurt their little girl, which is why Christofer sort of had to keep his mouth shut, unless he wanted to be grounded for the rest of his life.) "Sorry Vin, I'm just, uh, nervous." If she had been somebody else, she probably would have stuttered, but this was Adriana, and she had grown up knowing better than to stutter. Then again, it wasn't as though Vin cared or anything since he obviously accepted her for, well, her in every aspect of her existence. She turned back to smile at him for a moment before she turned around and slowed her pace down slightly.
The first stop was the kitchen to bring him into the good smelling area to meet her mother. Granted, she was cooking, but Adriana didn't doubt that she wouldn't mind taking a few minutes to meet her boyfriend. "Mommy," Adriana said sweetly, squeezing Vin's hand. Eleftheria turned around and smiled at her daughter and then at said daughter's boyfriend. "This is Vincent Illan de Atrio." Adriana bit into her lip and stepped back so that she was next to him instead of standing in front of him. "Vincent, this is my mommy, Eleftheria." Because her mother was one of those people that demanded people call her by her first name. "Hello Vincent, it's lovely to meet my daughter's boyfriend. Call me Eleftheria, please." Because why not just nip it in the bud before he started on the Mrs. Berezovska's and ma'am's? Adriana stepped closer to Vincent and pressed up to his side, because she knew that her mother wasn't going to care at all. "So, Vin, how did you meet Adriana?" Because she was also the sort of mother to ask those questions.

As Vincent followed her obediently through the house, he contemplated stopping very suddenly and seeing what would happen when Adriana's tiny, moving body, was matched against his solid, bigger, still body. They were heading toward whatever smelled good, and that probably meant meeting mom first. He decided to put his earlier plan in action before they walked into the kitchen, stopping short, tugging her back, and kissing her for a minute, before pulling away, smiling, and walking next to her into to meet her mother. Or, he tried to walk next to her, she seemed to start pulling him again as they took the few short steps into the next room. Her mother was beautiful, much like she was, but more refined, even regal-looking. Had she modeled before? If she hadn't, the industry had missed out big time. Though it would have been smarter to be smiling at her mother, Vin smiled at Addy as she said his name, and then turned to her mother as Adriana introduced her to him. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Berezovska. Your house is beautiful," He complimented. It would have sounded odd if he called her beautiful, so he chose to remark on the general awesomeness of the house instead. "Er, uh, Eleftheria," he corrected, hoping that calling her that was okay. He just stood there, somewhat awkwardly, wondering how exactly to explain where, or how he and her daughter had made each others' acquiantances.
Damn it, he should have brought flowers or something! Next time, he promised himself, next time he would bring flowers for her mother. That was always a good sucking-up method, right? Then again, he didn't want to suck-up to them, if they didn't like him, an amount of expensive flowers wasn't going to change their minds. Perhaps, he though, he should get back to answering Eleftheria's question about how the two of them met, but when he mentioned it, he'd leave out the raunchier parts. "We met wandering the beach one day. About two or three months ago?" He looked at Adriana for comfirmation on his guesstimate. He probably should have remembered the first official day, but he could figure that out later.

Adriana couldn't help but smile as Vin pulled her backwards and she leaned into him. (Granted, it didn't really matter, because even if she hadn't wanted to go backwards Vincent probably didn't have to expel much effort to get her there.) Part of her would have been okay with just hanging out in the hallway for a while and kissing, but, see, her parents sort of wanted to meet her boyfriend. And, see, if they just kissed in the hallway, the meeting might not go all that well. Once they were in the kitchen everything seemed to be going alright and, okay, that worked. Adriana just sort of stood next to Vincent and smiled, happy that so far her mother seemed to be content with her boyfriend. "You can just call me Elli, dear. And thank you." And that was probably a good sign too, since Addy knew that her mother didn't throw out a nickname to everybody in the world. (Especially since Vincent had pronounced the name perfectly well the first time.) However, when she asked when they had first met, Addy turned a bright shade of red and turned her head into Vincent's chest. She knew her mother was probably just thinking she was being silly, but if she knew the reason why she was blushing, she probably wouldn't have been so happy. Cuz, wow, when Addy looked back on the fact that she had blown some guy she hadn't even known, it had been a really bad idea. Granted, now she was happy that she had done that because now she had Vin. So, maybe she would just toally avoid looking back on it. When Vin looked at her, she nodded and slowly pulled her head out of his chest. "That's cute." Elli smiled and then beckoned them off. "Why don't you two go see dad?" And then she was turning back to the food. "It was lovely to meet you, Vincent."
Addy was reluctant to move a few steps away from his body heat, but she did, though her hand was still clutching his like a lifeline. She tugged him through the kitchen and down a hallway before pulling him into a small office. Her father was sitting in a chair, hovering over a book. "Daddy?" He looked up and she came a few steps closer. "This is Vincent. Vincent, this is my daddy." Her father got up and held out his hand to the boy, smiling politely. [i]"Raffaello, a pleasure to meet you, I hope."[/b]

Vincent had always assumed that when he got serious with a girl, meeting the parents was going to be nothing short of an ordeal. This, however, was turning out to be a breeze. Addy's mother, Eleftheria was making it fairly easy to relax in the house. "Elli, okay," He said, smiling at her. See? How easy was that? Incredibly easy was the answer. He figured that it was a good sign when your girlfriend's mother likes you enough to allow you to address her so informaly, especially in a case involving a family as wealthy as Adriana's. Most families like hers that he had met in his life were stuffy and snobby, and everyone called each other Mister, Miss, or Misses. The women called each other by their first name sometimes, most of the time it was 'dear' or 'darling'. The guys were all awkward until they started talking about sports or stock or how well their business was doing, and then it was all competition and they referred to each other as 'sir' when they were pretending to be polite, but were actually gloating. It was all a game. But this was comfortable. And they were even getting smiles from her mother as they stood there, basically cuddling in the kitchen. Generally people didn't do that in front of their parents, did they? Hey, if they were okay with it, he wasn't going to make it stop. "Yes, yes it was," He said, chuckling softly. Adriana knew exactly what he was thinking, that much was evident from the way she was hiding in him. He kissed the top of her head before she faced her mother again. And then Elli suggested that they meet 'daddy', and that was always the real test.
Once more he let himself be pulled through the house, even though this time he wasn't sure of how easy the next intriduction aws going to go. Sure, it was all well and good for bouncy little Addy, introducing them and not seeming to worry about anything. Vincent, on the other hand, was a little nervous about this. Her dad didn't seem like the threatening sort, but you never knew. He wasn't sure of what to do; did he stick his hand out first? Did he wait for her father to make the first move? It was a bit nerve-wracking, until her father did extend his hand with a smile. "Nice to meet you, sir." There was no way in hell he was getting on familiar terms with her father right off the bat. he wasn't sure he'd call him anything but 'sir' for a while, if not forever. "I'm Vincent Illan de Atrio." He...hoped it was a pleasure? Vin wasn't sure if that was a bad sign or not. He didn't know the right thing to say in his current situation, so he just stood there, and gave Adriana's hand a light squeeze and a glance that was meant to be reassuring, even though he was the one who needed the reassurance that everything was going to be okay, it seemed.

Addy was happy that Vincent was handling this well, even if he wasn't. She had a feeling he might be a little nervous, because wasn't everybody nervous before they went and met the dad? It seems that way, at least. She began to chew on her lip as she stepped closer to him once they were in the room with her dad. Adriana didn't expect him not to like Vincent - she didn't really know how people couldn't, but maybe she was just a little biased - but if her mom liked him she didn't doubt that her father would as well. As of now, everything seemed to be going according to plan, so she wasn't going to get worried yet. (At this point she hadn't really found Vincent to be a foot in mouth sort of guy, so that was at least comforting.) She watched the exchange between the two of them in interest, gnawing harder on her lip when they shook hands. Sometimes her daddy had the habit of thinking he was funny when really he was just scaring the shit out of people - she sincerly hoped he didn't decide to pull something like that at this point in time. As the moments ticked by she realized that, no, he wasn't going to do anything like that and so they were sort of in the clear. "You've made my daughter very happy, Vincent." And then Raffaello smiled, taking a quick glance at his daughter, who was pressed up to his side. "And if she's happy with how you're treating her, I don't have any complaints." Adriana squeezed Vin's hand and smiled at him, because, wow, that had gone really well and so far Christofer hadn't done anything to fuck any of it up. "We're going to be having dinner soon, Adriana, so why don't you bring Vincent into the dining room?" Her father smiled at Vincent. "It was nice to meet you young man, don't be a stranger." And oh god, her father was such a creeper, Adriana realized, shaking her head as she squeezed Vincent's hand and led him out - not so much dragging this time.
"I'm sorry." Addy apologized, looking back towards Vincent. "My parents are so weird." But, at least they had accepted Vincent and not made a fuss about it. She had been prepared for twenty questiosn from his father, though that might happen during dinner. Oh! She should probably warn Vincent about it. "My dad might be harassing you during dinner with questions. I'm really sorry." But at least it had been all smooth sailing at this point. As they walked into the dining room Adriana took a seat and looked at Vin, waiting for him to take the one next to her. (She had no intention of wanderings hands at this dinner, unless she was going to hold his. The last thing she wanted to happen was for her parents to think that Vincent was a bad influence on her or something.) Elli traipsed out of the kitchen with the first course and set it on the table, Raffaello striding down the hallway to take a seat at the head of the table. "Dear, do you know where Ch-" Her mother started, though Christofer came through the doorway and slid into a seat on the other side of the table of Vincent, giving him a quick appriasing look before looking awa.y "Well, dig in," Elli said, smiling at everybody before taking a seat. Addy reached out a hand and squeezed Vincent;s, becuase yeah, seperation anxiety pretty much ran in her blood now. (Ever since she had met Vincent, anyway)

There was no reason to be nervous he found. After all, her father was saying that she had been very happy since they had met and gotten to know each other. Vincent was pretty sure that Adriana's happiness was there before he was, so he didn't think that he should have gotten credit for that part. He did agree with her father on the fact that he treated her very, very well--even if it was conceited to do so. At least he could pride himself on something that was semi-useful out in the world. He would continues to treat her as he had been until basically forever. He looked down at Addy when her father was saying that he shouldn't be a stranger, and smiled. "I wouldn't ever want to be, sir." Oh, perhaps he shouldn't have looked at her when he said that. He hoped that her father didn't think her was just a guy looking for some ass, because that wasn't true at all. Her father seemed like a fairly laid-back sort-of guy, so he didn't stress over it too much. Not that he had time to stress over it anyway, Adriana was already starting to lead him out of the room. He paused and said to her father, "Thank you for having me here, sir." Then he turned and followed his girlfriend dutifully from the room.
He hoped that dinner wasn't going to be an awkward affair, since he knew that her brother would be in attendence. They hadn't exactly been the best of friends since they had first met, but for one night at least they could be civil toward one another. He didn't want to start shit while Adriana's parents were in the room (granted, they were also Christofer's parents, and that would then make an argument twice as bad, but he didn't care about Chris, so it didn't matter). He felt like he should do something, like help set the table or something, but generally that was what the girls did. ...He had no idea what he was supposed to do or expected to do, other than be polite. Adriana was sitting down though, and he took that as a sign that meant there wasn't anything else to be done as her father took his place, and her brother and mother soon followed. When she told them to have at it, Vincent knew that it wasn't right for him to go for whatever he wanted first; you always let the parents go first, or at the very least, let the father choose what he wanted first. That's how it had worked when he had been a kid and had actually eated with his parents occasionally (even though none of those meals had been homemade by his mother, the same rules had applied). He smiled when a small, always slightly-chilly hand squeezed his, and waited for other people to start grabbing food before him.

Adriana briefly wondered if they were ever going to have an opposite meeting - like, was she ever going to have to meet his parents? Granted, being a girl was a bit easier, since you just sort of had to be exceptionally polite and adorable. Guys, on the other hand, had to be on above their best behavior. (However, Vincent was doing better than Adriana had ever expected, and she was happy to see that both her parents seemed to be quite pleased with her boyfriend. Christofer was beginning to eye him strangely, but she didn't really care much about that much becuase well, sure had the assurance that he was going to keep his mouth shut.) So, Adriana figured all that needed to happen was for Christofer to begin to be friends with Vinny, because then the entire family could get along. (And, see, Addy wanted to bring Vincent along on her summer vacation, because she could hardly be without him now - how was she supposed to be without him for an entire summer? And yes, she was assuming that the two of them were still going to be together in seven or eight months. Becuase, well, they would be, becuase at this point Addy sort of liked the idea of having a Vincent filled future. Certainly immediately, and perhaps long term.)
There was an awkward silence for a moment because nobody really knew what to say. Then her father began to talk again, and Adriana had a feeling that this was the beginning of the twenty questions. Except, instead of pulling one of those things, her father just took some food, passed it to Vincent, and then smiled at him. "So, what do you plan to do in your near future, Vincent?" Adriana turned red and looked down at the ground because she briefly remembered the conversation that they had enjoyed down at the beach before she had gone down on him on a whim. Last she remembered, Vincent wasn't exactly sure what he wanted to do and part of her hoped that Vin didn't phrase it like that, exactly, otherwise that might lose him some points. Her hand reached out and grabbed a bowl, and she put a little food on her plate - it was at this point that she realized that she didn't want to actually eat anything because she couldn't really remember the last time she had eaten a real meal. Her stomach was already churning as she took the first bite and she felt the intense urge to run to the bathroom or refuse to eat. However, she didn't really need her parents to notice anything. Her teeth dug into her lower lip and she took another resolute bite, though that was the last thing that she wanted to do.

Oh...fuck. There was one of the many questions that normal high-schoolers could provide an answer to. He, on the other hand, still hadn't decided upon a particular career path and wasn't planning to do so...indefinitely. That wasn't what you told the parents of the girl you could see yourself marrying though, since they would want to hear that you have a plan that would provide for their precious baby. Impressing them wasn't going to be that hard, he figured. He could still tell the truth...he would just have to embellish it a little bit to make it sound as though he knew where he was going. As he started to speak, he took the food that Addy's father was handing his way, and put some onto his plate. "Well, obviously I have high school to finish, and then I'm hoping to attend college in England." But what did he want to study? That was the part that he was still undecided about. To be honest, he'd be perfectly content with the money in the account in the bank that belonged to him, but that wasn't something that he was going to be able to sell to her parents. No, he'd have to think of something that he was interested in, and go from there for the night. "As if that isn't 'abroad' enough compared to here, I was thinking about spending a semester in Italy, maybe even staying there and studying art or literature." Those were general enough subjects. Not exactly the most impressive, but that was okay. It at least sounded like he was forming an idea of where he was going.
After talking about some of Europe, Vincent wondered which countries Adriana's parents hailed from. He thought he remembered her briefly mentioning it once in conversation, but he couldn't quite recall. As the question would seem very out-of-the-blue at that moment, he decided he could wait until later to ask. He gave another look at his food, and then happily put a fork-full into his mouth, relishing in the different flavours of a home-cooked meal. God. It had been a very, very long time since he had eaten a meal made at home. He wished his mother were of better use in the kitchen, but then that would mean more awkward family meals, where both of his parents remained attatched to their phones, even after promising that they would put them down for twenty minutes' time. Oh well. Not every family was perfect. He was glad that at least it seemes like Adriana had grown up in the ideal household. She had a fairly close-knot family, a nice house, her parents had money, and they cared for her. Vincent placed his fork on the edge of his plate and took a drink from the water glass in front of him. There was a glass beside it, which almost certainly held wine, since the Berezovskas would be the sort of family to allow their children to drink socially, but Vin figured water was his best bet. Somehow he figured alcohol concumption the first time he met Addy's parents wasn't a good idea. With the hand that had been resting in his lap, he reached over under the table cloth and gave her knee a light squeeze while also offering a small smile. He hoped that was okay, because he didn't intend to abstain from touching or looking at her completely, simply because her parents were there.

When Vincent made a smooth recovery after her father's question, Adriana knew there had a been a reason that she liked Vin. Well, a reason besides the multitudes of others that she could probably go on and on about for hours. This sort of infatuation probably wasn't healthy but that was okay. It wasn't like it was hurting her or anything and she doubted that Vincent would ever hurt her on purpose because, really, he just wasn't the type to ever do that. ((She still remembered when he had accidentally hurt her one time and felt as though she was never going to speak with him ever again.)) These thoughts gave her something to distract her from her food, which, the more she looked at, the more nauseated she felt. And that was okay, the less that she ate the better, lest she lose the sharp jut of her hipbones or the exquisite thinness that she possessed and neither of the younger, main males in her life were happy with. ((Christofer had voiced that multiple times, Vincent, on the other hand, she just knew wasn't, and okay, that was understandable, but too bad.))
She nearly jumped when she felt Vincent's hand on her knee, because, yeah, she hadn't really been paying attention. However, a warm smile slipped onto her lips almost immediately because contact from Vincent just sort of did those sort of things to her. Adriana couldn't help but lean towards him slightly, almost an automatic reaction, before she realized she was at the table. As her eyes swept over the expanse before sliding back to her food, she caught her mother's knowing smile. "Italy's a very nice place." Her father confirmed, if only because he had been born there. "I was born there and we take these two there for a month or so every summer." And this year, Addy was hoping that Vincent would be joining them because she didn't know how else she was supposed to survive an entire summer. "There are some very good colleges." And Adriana knew that Vincent had made a very good decision with what he had said and she stopped worrying about her father possibly not liking Vin. ((She wasn't ever really worried about her mother because her mother was happy with anybody that made her daughter happy.)) Adriana took another bite of food and chewed resolutely as her mother began to talk this time.
"So, are you and Chris friends?" And really, mom, Addy wondered, could you ask any worse of a question?

Without even so much as a sideways glance at her, Vincent knew that Adriana was smiling. He liked to credit himself for the ability to make her smile at random moments...and while he could make her smile with the smallest things, she had the same effect on him. It was that whole 'every action has an equal and opposite reaction' sort of thing. Only, when it came to the two of them, it was much, much better than any science class that such a concept applied to. He was aware of the fact that Adriana leaned toward him then, and much as he wanted to put his arm around her, he refrained from so much as even casually draping his arm over the back of her chair. Yes, he had touched her leg under the table, but he didn't want to appear clingy or too touchy while in front of her parents. He had never had the pleasure of seriously meeting a girl's parents before, but something told him that touching the girl constantly would send up a red flag in her parents' mind. Maybe he could manage to trip an alarm that screamed, 'hey, your daughter's new boyfriend likes to paw her up all of the time, and you should stop that'...but he hoped that wasn't going through their minds. While he did like feeling Adriana up, he didn't think telling them that would win him any points.
In fact, he figured he should stop thinking about it; Since he had the tendency to think out loud.
It was difficult to keep discomfort and disdain off of his face when Christofer was mentioned. Addy's brother was more or less a sore subject between the two of them, as he had physically hurt both of them, and all but hated Vincent anyway. At least the only thing that was sore due to Christofer was the subject of him anymore, and not Vincent's ribs or any part of Adriana. If he ever did anything like that again however, he would make sure that Chris' face was very, very much made sore. "Christofer and I have been introduced," he said slowly at first. "However, we haven't had much time to get to know each other yet. I guess we should make some room for that, huh?" He said with a half-assed smiled at Christofer. Yeah, like that was happening. Vincent didn't think that it mattered if he and Christofer actually hung out or not, but at least sounding like he intended to become best friends with the other boy was sure to please Adriana's parents. Or maybe they'd see right through it, in which case he could just start blaming the Berezovska's son for the various injuries he had inflicted upon both him, and Adriana. ...But what kind of person played that game? It was a little below-the-belt, and the last time Vincent had tried a move like that, it had almost resulted in his having a rib broken.

Addy really wished that her parents just hadn't mentioned Christofer - not that it was a very feasible hope, since he was sitting at the table right across from her. But hey, she could hope. Once the topic came up, though, she resisted the urge to scowl, because, really. Vincent's reply was convincing, though his smile was over - doing it a bit and she had to resist the urge to pinch him. Instead, she slipped her hand under the table and settled it on top of his, wriggling her fingers between his with determination. She realized that he was eventually going to need his hand back, especially when the next course came around and he would need two hands to serve himself. Until then, though, she thought that she could just keep one of his hands to herself. Besides, she needed some sort of comfort for the reply she was sure was going to be shooting out of Christofer's mouth any second. "I'm sure we'll find time to get better acquainted with each other." And that was all he said and Adriana was thankful that Chris was keeping his promise to her and not saying anything that could potentially cause her parents to ask her to break up with Vin. ((If that day came, Addy was not going to be a happy camper in the least.)) "Maybe when sports season rolls around." The twin continued, taking a sip of his wine. "I've heard that Vincent's a pretty fierce competitor." And yeah, Addy figured that she was really going to owe Christofer now.
Her parents smiled at each other, and Adriana couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. That part had gone well, now they just had to get through the rest of dinner. It didn't seem like it would be too difficult, however. "How long have you two been going out?" Her father asked, and Addy began to push the food around on her plate in hopes it would look like she had eaten more. Christofer flicked his eyes over to her and glared, though she ignored him. "Not too long," Addy admitted, chewing on her lip. "But we've known each other for a fair amount of time." If Vincent wanted to fill in some holes, he certainly could, because yeah, that had been sort of vague. She relinquished her grip on his hand as the second course was handed around, and she sighed as she plopped some food down on a new plate as her mother came around and collected the dirty ones. She thought about getting up and helping, but she knew her mother would merely shoo her off and tell her to get back to the table and sit with Vincent. Not that she minded sitting with Vincent, but it felt odd not helping her mother clean up.

Vincent was expecting Cristofer's reply to his suggestion to be as half-assed as the smile he had offered a moment ago. However, he wasn't entirely sure that Addy's brother was being an ass or not. So, chosing to believe that her brother was actual a civil human being that could potentially (though not likely) become a friend, Vincent actually smiled and said, "Definitely am. But from what I've heard, you're good enough to be the entire team." And it was true. he really had heard people marveling at the skill of the Berezovska brother in the halls at school, he just had yet to see it for himself. But even if it were true, he knew he was only saying it kiss Chris's ass a little so that maybe he wouldn't get his own kicked again. He'd never been a fan of it before, but in this situation a little bit of it couldn't hurt. The thing he hated most about it was that he knew that after saying it, the only thing going through Chris's mind would be something like 'you bet I can do it by myself, especially if it keeps you off of my team'. It didn't matter though. Whatever it was going to take to be on the 'good side' of the family was what he was going to do. It seemed like it was working; he didn't miss the grins that Addy's parents exchanged. He was breathing a little easier now that conversation also seemed to be going well, even when they were asking him question that he didn't really know how to answer (like the Cristofer one). It was all going to be all right, he figured.
Vincent frowned a little at his girlfriend's father's question. How long had it been exactly? He could make a guess if he thought back to when they had...met. He looked sideways at Adriana, watching her talk and simultaneously shove food around her plate, waiting to see if she either launched into a story about how they had been dating for a while, or if she was going to eat something. When he realized that she had said all she was going to, he felt like he should offer something up as well so he didn't look like a jackass boyfriend who just wanted his girl for sex and whatnot. He wasn't that guy. "It's been almost four months since we met," he said, glad that he hardly ever blushed, especially since he was thinking of how they had become acquainted back on that day at the beach. "So, I guess we've been dating for about three months?" Was that...it? He chuckled for a moment. "It feels like it's been longer." He smiled fondly at Addy, not worrying about acting at least a little affectionate in front of her parents. Her mother seemed to enjoy when he smiled at her or held her hand. As far as he knew, dads didn't like seeing that--or hearing about it, or thinking about it-- but so far her father hadn't said anything. Adriana, on the other hand, was rather antsy in her seat. Vaguely he wondered why, but knew that he already knew why. It was especially bugging him tonight for some reason that he couldn't put his finger on. They could sort that out later though.

Christofer smiled at Vin - yes actually smiled - and Adriana wouldn't be surprised if she keeled over from shock. She should have known that the boys would bond over something like lacrosse, then again, she couldn't really be talking, since she had made many of her friends on the soccer team. But really, she couldn't believe that Christofer, who had spent a fair amount of time trying to bash Vincent's head in, was smiling at him. "I've heard you're pretty good at lacrosse." He said it simply, but Adriana knew that he was excited. While Christofer did play other sports, it was lacrosse that he seemed to live for, and the way he was appraising Vincent right now showed his expectations for a good season. "You can stop eyeing my boyfriend now, Chris." She muttered, and her brother glared at her before going back to eating, at which point he just offered her another pointed glare. This one she also diplomatically ignored. As opposed to heeding said cutting of the eyes, she just continued to mash her food around on her plate. Her parents were either pretending they weren't seeing it or were too busy looking at each other with smiles on their faces as her mother sat back down and continued to listen to the conversation. Addy sighed, because sometimes they acted like lovestruck teens, even though they had been married for over twenty years.
When Vincent accurately recalled how long they had been together, Adriana couldn't help the large smile that took her lips, because, that was adorable. Her hand once again found his under the table and she squeezed his hand. "It does feel like a lot longer." Addy admitted, looking over at Vin as she bit her lip. Her parents both looked at each other with smiles and then back at their daughter and her boyfriend. "You two are adorable," Her mother gushed and Addy turned bright red, because really, did she have to do that at the dinner table? There were several minutes where nobody talked and silverware clanking was the only sound, and then her mother spoke again. "How about dessert?" She questioned, and Addy resisted the urge to groan. Instead, she merely pushed away from the table and looked to her father. "May I be excused to the bathroom?" He nodded at her and she walked slowly out of the room, trusting her father to continue to talk to Vin.
When she got to the bathroom she slipped inside and sunk to the floor, her stomach feeling stretched and bloated, even though she hadn't eaten that much. Adriana knew that if she looked down, her stomach probably wouldn't appear that way, but it was how she felt and she didn't like it. The guilt for eating the food was already assaulting her and she pulled her back back into a ponytail on habit before leaning over the toilet and bringing up the pointer and middle finger of her left hand. Then began the all too familiar process of purging and she tried to put her mind in another place as her stomach tightened and her body jerked slightly. When she was finished she wiped her mouth, got a new tissue to wipe her face, and ran her forearm and the back of her hand under her eyes to get rid of the tears. She hoped she hadn't taken too long, but she had a feeling that being in the bathroom for as long as she had been would be a bit suspicious. Shit. She mentally admonished herself and then prepared herself to walk out of the bathroom, cracking the door slightly before she slipped out into the kitchen.
