The rain was lulling Cam into a half asleep state. She sat on her window seat, her head leaning against the cool dark glass as the water poured down from the skies. A blanket had been tucked around her but now fell in a pool around her. She had her laptop up, casting a white glow on her face. Mike knew napping was a bad idea. Now he couldn't sleep. He supposed he could work on his Spanish assignment - but AIM sounded much better.
baseballboy89: can't sleep either?
He typed quietly, not wanting to wake his parents down the hall. If he rolled over at night, his mother heard him.

Cam's eyes had slid half closed and she blinked them open when the small chime of a message struck her attention. A small smile played on her lips.

Mike grinned when the message at the bottom of the screen blinked back. He minimized his English paper and set his fingers on the keyboard again.
baseballboy89: nope. i took a nap earlier... bad idea. can't sleep now. >.<

She minimized her game of solitaire. Cam tapped her fingers over the keys, hearing the click without them actually typing anything. It distracted her from the sound of the rain trying to lull her to sleep.

Mike yawned and stretched his arms over his head, cracking his shoulders. "Ow," he murmured, settling his hands over the keyboard again.

Cam kept her laughter silent, opting for a small smile. If she was too loud she would wake her mother and her mother was already exhausted from work. She needed her sleep.

Cammie had to throw her hand over her mouth to muffle the laughter that spilled out. She hadn't been expecting that so she couldn't contain it. Even if she had expected it she doubted she could have stopped it.
