overall appearance:
James has blonde hair that is normally short, unless he has one of his spontaneous moment where he decides to grow it for a month, however, this doesn’t last long as he gets board of it. His normal clothes tend to consist of jeans, some smart shoes, always black. Quite often he wears a smart jacket, and almost always wears a scarf, he is well aware that he is attractive. He occasionally has side burns when he is trying to look older, but does tend to prefer it clean shaven.
overall personality:
James has always been a very ‘think on the spot’ kind of guy, never thinking of the consequences of his actions, however, he became a lot more aware when he was turned. He is now more aware of the consequences. He comes off to a lot of people as rather arrogant, however this is slightly overwhelmed by his immense charm, and ability to get people to do what he wants. He is extremely intelligent, however this is a curse as well as a gift, as he often underestimates other peoples intelligence. Despite his arrogance and intelligence he does have a heart of gold, and when friends with someone, will be friends for life, and protect them with his life.

history:
James was born into a wealthy French family. He was well educated in French, Spanish and English, Maths and Science. His father was a wealthy doctor, however, he never really knew his father as he almost constantly worked. He loved his childhood, with a very loving mother and quite a few friends, one in particular, John. At the age of 15 he went out one night to one of many Balls, as his parents were looking for a wife for him. After a night of dancing with many of the pretty girls present, him and John went for a stroll to discuss the women at the ball. Eventually it brought them to a wood, which was named Belleau Wood. They suddenly began to hear the trees bustling raucously; they could tell it wasn’t just the fierce wind that was causing the bustling. Suddenly they saw someone, they ran however, John fell over, and told James to keep running. However, he knew he could not leave his friend, so he hid behind a tree, grabbing a branch to perhaps save his friend. What he then saw would change the rest of his life forever. He was ravaged in seconds by these humans, but they were strong, and so unbelievably fast, all he could do was stay behind this tree and listen to the horrific cries of his best friend, and hope he would not get found himself.
For the next few years, these images and sounds haunted him in his dreams, him longing to have an answer to what these people were. They were not human. Over the years, he had compiled many books, and finally found the answers to his questions, they were vampires.
On the 29th of April 1912, when he was 19, he came down with a mysterious illness, still unknown, all that was known was that it originated in his stomach, and poisoned the body. He was stuck in bed for a few days, until he demanded to be let out of bed, the last thing he wanted was to die in a bed stuck at home. They whisked him away to the place where they knew he would want to be, by John’s grave, after all those years, he never forgot him. He asked to be left alone; things would be easier that way. As he was lying next to his best friends grave he heard footsteps, he looked towards the person, with the little strength he could muster. Luckily he didn’t know the strange looking beautiful girl that greeted him, the nest thing he knew, a sharp pain soared through his neck. The pain was excruciating, unlike anything he had ever felt, even compared the illness he had currently got, before everything went black.
The next morning, he woke up very early, to see everything dark, and nothing in site, in the same spot as he had been the previous night, when suddenly everything came back to him, and he checked his wrist. He realised that he was suddenly better, in fact better than fine. He was strong, and his eyesight, it was just unbelievable. He couldn’t believe it. He also knew he couldn’t go back to his family, they wouldn’t understand. This was really difficult for him, he’d always been so close to his mother, and now he would have to leave her forever.
He the headed off for Oxford London. He had always loved the sound of London, as he was educated a lot on English customs. He spent the next few years learning to control his thirst for human blood. After what had happened with John, he would never let himself become like that, he would not be a killer. He also spent the next few years protecting humans from the vampires that wanted to kill, he didn’t believe it was right.
On the 31st of December 1925 he doing one of his usual patrols, he did them despite the lack of vampires, as he knew one day there would be an attack, he had already saved a couple. However, tonight was not the case. He was wondering down the many streets through oxford, like normal, when suddenly he heard the screams of a young girl, he dashed down the ally, and chasing off the vampire. When he found her once more, she had already been bitten. He now had one of the hardest decisions of his life. Does he suck the venom out, or does he let her change? However, he knew there was nothing he could do; there was a risk he couldn’t stop.
The next day, he decided he must stay with her, and look after her. He knew how difficult it was when you first wake up. He explained everything, especially the fact that they couldn’t stay there, and that she couldn’t see her family anymore.
Lilith became the sister he never had, and protected her like so. He decided they best move to America, where they moved quite often as to protect there identities. Until one night James couldn’t stand her party lifestyle anymore, he couldn’t handle the constant worry of something happening, and the bloodlust they still both had. So he decided that a move to Forks was necessary, to protect her, and hopefully prevent her party lifestyle.

James strolled along one of the many streets, not really quite sure what to do with himself. As he strolled down the road, he began thinking of that night where John had died. It was a very painful memory for him, but he constantly hoped that eventually he might be able to remember something that might lead him to John’s killed. Nope still nothing, but he knew he must keep trying to remember, he’d already remembered some things, like one of the girls had black hair.
However, this was broken up when he almost tripped over a twig on the floor, due to his lack of concentration.
