I had to take my poor bodhran in to her maker as the tape was coming off the head. That was waaaayyy back in June. Dave was really puzzled as to why the tape and the drum were parting ways, he's never had one do this before. When he got a really good look at her, he wasn't even sure he'd be able to save the head at all. I love the sound of this head, it's wonderfully rich and deep, so I'd have been really disappointed if he'd been unable to save it. But I picked her up the other day and she's perfect! He was able to save the skin, got new tape cemented on and she sounds like her usual amazing self! Yippee! And as nice as the bodhran he loaned me is, it's not the same as my own.
And as a bonus, I got a pretty new tigerwood tipper, too. He always seems surprised that I want a new tipper from him, but he turns such beautiful ones!
Anyway, I just had to post it somewhere! lol
