*limps in with a big, dopey grin*

The Music Hall in Portsmouth New Hampshire is roughly the size of my apartment...albeit, slightly more gilded and fancy *lol* GBS was part of a series called, "Intimate Evenings"...and b'y, was it!!!

The ticket Meg gave me was 5th row, about 25 feet from the stage!!!! I was sitting next to a girl who'd never heard or seen them before...and it was as much fun watching her enjoy herself, as it was enjoying the B'ys *lol* What a great crowd!!

The B'ys were in RARE form, I'll tell you! Alan said it was the "last night of the tour", that they had a few more shows, but this was, for all intents and purposes, the last show of the tour..."and since you can't take it with you, you may as well leave it on the stage!" *lol*

...and they did...

Bob was a trip. I've NEVER seen him so jovial and lively...OMB...he was smiling, joking, laughing...and DANCING!!! I got to watch Bob Hallett do a couple little jigs! And he had a huge grin on his face all night. *SO* cool!

I swear I spent just as much time laughing as I did dancing...no sh*t...they were so funny, my cheeks still hurt from laughing so much!

They played a few things I've never heard before...Alan and Bob came out together, Alan with a mandolin, and Bob with a squeezebox, sat on the drum stage, and played a jig together, as intro to Chaffe's Ceilidh....it was really cool.

They also played "Let It Go" (which I haven't heard in a while)...*AND*...
Ferryland Sealer (which I've never seen them do...a song I love tremendously)
*AND*
Process Man!!! That has to be my favorite...I swear it. My Lisa gave me Up when it was brand-new...Boyo was only 1 1/2 years old...and that was the only song he'd let me listen to in the car *lol* ("Go Boys Go, Mom...Go Boys Go!!!")
What a birthday treat that turned out to be!!! I thought I'd never get to hear them do that one live...and it was SPECTACULAR!!! *sigh* =)

As I said, they were rather comedic, even more so than usual...
at one point, Sean was going to play drums, and Kris was coming out from behind them to play accordian....and Sean jumped on Kris' back! *lol* Kris bent over and spun him around a bit, they pretended to murder each other...all the while Alan was flapping at the audience, oblivious...I though Bob was going to pop a nut laughing at them...
...and by the time Alan realized there was something going on behind him, Sean was straightening out his jacket nonchalently....

Alan: What are you doing??? O_o

Sean: Kris jumped me, man!! I was afraid for my life! I thought he was going to kill me!! I don't know what came over him!!!

Kris: O_O

Bob: lmfao.gif

Alan: Well, that is a rather sexy jacket...I mean, who could blame him?

Sean: Maybe I should go have a wardrobe change....

frikkin riot, start to finish...STILL giggling!!

They did two encores, really mixed it up this time....not the usual stuff, and I loved every moment of it...I haven't had that much fun in a VERY long time.
Sorry I don't have any pics...my dig cam and puter won't play with each other...so I bought film for my 35mm....only to discover the (rediculously expensive) battery was dead.

Ah, well! The memories will last a lifetime, regardless of photographic evidence *lol*
...and, as some of you know...I never "buy the t-shirts"...don't know why, but when I travel, or go to a concert, whatever...I always find some other kind of momento, unique to the circumstance, and something unusual as a keepsake...

well, Meg in her infinite generosity, had also sent along a few dollars for gas, sup, parking, etc (which I *did* accommodate!)....but, before the show, as I was walking to go get a slice of pizza, I passed a shop called Celtic Connections...stopped dead in front of the door...and decided I should not get myself into mischief by indulging the urge to go in....
however, when I passed by again, it sucked me right in! *lmao*
Just this urge that there was something inside, calling my name...and I found it...

a BEAUTIFUL sterling silver ring, with a green peridot...slightly wider where the stone is, and tapering down to the bottom...which has gorgeous celtic knots going from the stone down the sides (also tapering off)...and the knot-work looks very similar to Alan's pendant. It's gorgeous, and was nowhere NEAR as expensive as it should have been (still leaving me with enough money for the toll, and parking...and a nice card for someone special ;-) )

a Great Big THANK YOU!!!!!!! to Meg, my dear, sweet, wonderful, beautiful friend...for her endless love, encouragement and eternal good cheer...and for her very thoughtful, wonderful gift!! I'm so touched, I could just cry from the sweetness and joy =)

wish you could have been there with me, darlin...some day, we will get to catch a show together....thankyouthankyouthankyou!!! {{{hugs}}}

I am so glad you had a good time. I thought about you all day Friday, "Has she left yet?","Did she get there okay?", "Has she been able to sit at all this far in to the show?". lol Betwwen thoughts I watched th clock and added two hours to get "Kristin time' and guessed what you'd be doing(I'm not a stalker, honest!).

((HUGS)) I am glad to be able to give you an evening out at the moment. You deserve a respite from the daily slog, it's been a rough haul for you recently. I hope it's a little lighter now. Go forth in good cheer, m'luv! And trust me, the giddiness in your voice before the show and the thrill in it afterwards is all the thanks I need. love0052.gif
