so i'll sit and wonder everything we shouldn't have been yet everything we tried to be
It was Friday. Finally. There was no better way to unwind (or finally fall asleep) than to go curl yourself up in the library with a good book. Sure, around this time, most people would be at lunch, talking about the locals, laughing at the tourists, whatever. But for one British boy by the name of Johnathan Ian Hainsworth, found lunch a good time to sneak a sandwich into the library, find a nice book to read, and basically just relax. Maybe he was hiding out though? Nobody actually ever knew why John was in the library because he told most to bugger off when they tried to talk to him. Perhaps he was avoiding some new stalker, or trying to make himself scarce from a fight once again. Of course, there was the last and most obvious reason as well: him being in the library was none of your bloody business.
After having stuck a turkey with tomato and mayo sandwich in a container and then stuffing it into his bag, John had purchased a bottle of water,, also slipping it into his bag. He closed the zipper, swinging it lightly over his shoulder and made his way down the hall towards his desired section of reading. There were a few greetings exchanged, a couple of sneers, some wolf whistles, most of the usual of John's actions. He reached the area only a few moments later, pulling open the door and holding it while a few girls left, he smirked and nodded at them as they giggled. John shook his head lightly as he watched them scurry off, them slipped into the library, holding the door as it closed so it wouldn't slam. He placed his book (that had been under his arm) onto the counter, fixing his tie which was now crooked (but he kept it loose). Having to wait for the old bat to scan the book was simply ridiculous, but, not being able to reach the scanner and do it himself, John stood impatiently at the counter, taping his fingers on it lightly.
"Finally," he muttered under his breath as the librarian noticed him and made her way back over to the counter. She scanned the book and smiled at him, taking it and placing it on the book rack behind her. John gave her a small, but respectful smile and walked off, making sure to find a spot where he wouldn't have to see her, or been seen eating his lunch by her. It was too bad that of course, the library was slightly crowded today. Hell. Figures.
John skimmed the bookshelves for something to read, but he had either read the book or he found it extremely dull beyond anything else. Yes, you could call John as bookworm or a loser, nerd, geek, whatever. But the truth was, he was just a very literate person and was usually found around the town with a book in his hand. If the book was not to be seen, it was most likely in his bag.
"Why is there no bloody place to sit?" John mumbled under his breath as he went from row to row, from aisle to aisle, just for even the tiniest spot on the floor to nestle into and crack open a good book-which he had yet to find. "This is absolutely... fucking... ridic-...." John's voice trailed off as he finally found an empty aisle in the mystery section, not even somebody's open book left for when they returned. The boy walked over to the large windowsill, placing his bag down on it lightly, he scanned the shelves for something to read.
