i said welcome to detroit city

detroit, michigan. one of the most dangerous cities in the country but home of some of the greatest musicians the nation has ever known, too. most prominently, detroit punk. and, at the center of that scene, is demon corpse records, the label that seems to be signing all of the hottest musicians, these days.

think you've got what it takes?

Julianna let out a small sigh as she swept one strand of blonde hair up behind a ear as she walked down the streets of Detroit city in the springtime. She could finally smile a huge smile and practically doa funky little dance down the streets to absolutely nothing because for the first time in her school career she work free. Jules was in the start of her lightest semester ever and that damned senior project was far behind her with a good 98 plastered across the physical project. Her own recorded song with everything being done by her, the guitar, the lead voice and all the back up and harmonies had been her and for once she had done something amaizng. It just made her smile and feel all warm inside to think that everything was almost over, in just a few short months she woul dbe a free agent, free from school, free from her overbearing and controling father, and of course free to just be herself in her eyes.

Jules gave her head a slight shake letting a smile slip through the cracks and bless the world with it's shiny rays while her blonde curls bounced from texas to louisville, Kentucky and back. It certainly had beena while since she had been this perky and happy and well just thie Julafied. It being a Saturday was adding to the better things to, and since her parenrts and siblings were out of town for the weekend she could wander the streets, go party, or just do whatever she felt like. She was doing just that.

Jules loved walking the streets, and she loved to shop, she loved to just be able to walk and let her feet take her where they wanted to, but most of all she loved to eat. You might not believe it but jules can pack the food away at times and eat all damn day and not have a thing to show for it except maybe a odd expression on her face. That's where she was headed now was to Georgie's Diner, one of her most favorite places to eat.

She rounded the corner with a small bounce in her step and slipped across the street and through the door into the diner. Juls flashed a smile at Kurt the guy behind the bar before she slipped into a booth. Jules smile never left her face as she flipped idily through a menu trying to decide on what she might want to eat today.

You would think that someone who had spent several years of their teenage existence being the dish washer at a diner would hate the places. But it was the exact opposite for Milo. If you couldn’t find him anywhere in the house, diners were always the best place to start looking. Life was... Well really, as far as Twitch went life was the shit. Despite issues with set lists and outfit co-ordinations and what not, the band couldn’t be better. They were all signed up for a summer tour opening with No Doubt and had spent the last month working one on one with the other band to get things in high gear. Willa was on high alert, trying to make sure everything was perfect, Ben was equally as hyped up about it, siphoning some of his energy off of Willa’s crazed wattage. But Milo... Sure, he couldn’t be happier for the band unless they’d managed to book Rammstein or Metallica. But there was a cloud hanging over him that no amount of music, performances or even alcohol could manage to dissipate. Carson was dead, his little brother, and it was all his fault. He had left his family high and dry to try and make it here in Detroit and because of that his father had been able to steal Carson’s life away from him. Milo would never be able to forgive himself for that, no matter how long he’d lived. And due to his pain, Milo had begun to realize his own worst fear, he’d fallen into his father’s dirty habits. There was hardly a moment when Twitch’s drummer wasn’t hammered out of his mind. He tried to keep it to a bare minimum when there was rehearsal or meetings of some kind, but there was never a night that he didn’t drink himself into oblivion. Hey, you could hold it against him all you wanted, but he’d learned to handle his problems in this manner from the best of them.

He was dressed in baggy, tan coloured, calf length skater pants that hung impossibly low on his scrawny frame showing off white boxers with black skulls and held up only by a black leather belt. On his feet were a pair of black DC skate shoes, and on his rail thin, tattoo covered torso he wore a white t-shirt with a black DC on the front of it. His mohawk stood straight, seeming even more pointed with the hard angle to his features. Milo was a very unhappy man and it showed in every line of his face, his blue eyes showing barely concealed pain. Stepping into the diner, he went up to the front counter and ordered a coffee. Once this was poured and offered to him, he took it and slid into a back booth. Completely oblivious to others in the diner, Milo pulled the silver flask from out of his pocket and unscrewing it, took a swig directly from it before pouring some of the vodka into his coffee. Once this was complete he screwed the cap back on and shoved it into his pocket. Slouching down in the booth, the drummer sipped at the hot liquid, head leaning back against the top of the booth, eyes shut. He was the perfect picture of misery.

Today really did seem like on of them odd days where she was going ot stay this nice little perky blonde that certainly seemed to have had to much of a pick me up and was now high on well life and everything else imaginable. Jules didn't even bat a eye as she ordered her usual, gravy and biscuits with a side of bacon and some scrambled eggs, and even though she ate them quite frequently and in large amounts Jules hardly ever put on any kind of surplus. It was quite amazing to her as well as everyone else around her that she could pack so much food away at a time and not gain any weight at all; it was just truly one of them rare things that happened to make Julianna Davis herself. Her blue eyes turned to the obituraie section of the paper, yeah that really was an odd area for someone to read but her exscuse had always been to make sure that she hadn't wound up in there without her realization of it. Jules really could be the oddest of girls but that never really ever had slowed her down or stopped her in the past, normally it helped fuel her even more.

Jules smiled again when her food arrived warm and piping hot fresh from the grill along with a glass of milk that tasted as if it had arrived from heaven. Juls dug in with a gusto not even really minding to use her manners, yes she had manners Shocking! You wouldn' tbe able to tell it right now with her white milk mustache and of course the crumbs that now covered the front of her shirt and jeans. Okay eating neatly just wasn't her thing, she could try it but usually it didn't ever work out and it was better for her to surrender to the messiness that to try and fight it. She didn't look up at the sound of someone entering the store, she heard it but she was to intent in devouring her yummy breakfast at the moment to really wanna socialize with someone who she probably would never see again in her life and t wasn't until she had scraped her plate clean did she look up. Juls stifled a burp as she rested a hand on her newly filled stomach as she let her eyes wonder over to where the new comer had seated himself at the bar and really he showed no emotion except from the look of misery that sometimes escaped through his cracks.

It was odd, normally everyone that came in Georgie's was nice and chipper and smiling, though she guessed there had been days when she would have mosied in to visit in one of the most hellacious moods before. Juls wasn't normally one to go up and talk to perfect strangers like she knew them but something like her inner karma or sense told her that this guy really needed someone to talk to and she guessed that since she was the only person here besides Kurt she might as well talk to him a little. She sighed a little as she stood up and slipped over quietly to plop herself up onto the empty stool next to the guy. "Heya mister, I'm Juls Davis, you can call me Juls or Juli which ever strikes your fancy, but anyways, isn't it a good day to be here breathing in the fresh smells of Georgies?" Okay so Juls wasn't the best person at making small talk and of course she wasn't so good at being descreet about anything that was for sure. "So how are you? Are you okay you kinfda seem likle your down in the blues and stuck in the ruts my friend, is there anything that I could do for you?"

He was in his own little world, feeling the vodka start to warm his body and chase off the shakes that had started to happen. This was the bad side effect of the drinking, the shakes that would take over him if he didn’t have any in his system. He was a drummer, he needed steady arms and hands to keep up the right rhythm and hammer out the speedy beats that he was known. If Milo screwed up his shot at success with Twitch over this it would only be one more thing he would never be able to forgive himself for. Drumming was his very existence; his dog was even named Rototom. His miserable silence was broken by a soft feminine voice. Opening his eyes, they moved to the side to take in the young blonde who had decided it was her duty to irritate the hell out of him. ”It doesn’t strike my fancy to call you anything.” He growled in response, merely glaring at her over her question about it being a good day. Did he look like he was enjoying this day? Was the chick blind? Was she capable of reading any person’s facial expressions? And if she was expecting for him to inform her of what his name was she had another thing coming to her.

Milo lifted his head from the back of the seat and just kind of stared at her for a second as she asked him how he was. What was so difficult about this? Milo had perfected the keep-people-away look, and no one tended to bother him because he looked completely unapproachable. Who was this girl who seemed to ignore all the go away signals? ”You wanna know what you can do to help me? Walk back over there to your own booth.” With that he looked away from her, facing straight ahead and lifted his mug of spiked coffee to his lips and took a long swallow of the hot liquid. He wasn’t the friendliest on the best of terms, but things had only gotten worse over the past couple of months since his brother’s death.

Juls wasn't exactly expecting the guy to open up with the very frist few things she had said to him but she hadn't really expected the reply she had gotten and definitely not with the subtle harshness she had picked up. Juls raised a eyebrow at his respone but she didn't say to much to him as she stood there observing him with a quietness that was indefferent for Juli. She knew that she had seen him before but she couldn't really place were, it was one of them crazy drive you nuts feeling but it just wasn't coming to her at the moment and no matter how hard she was racking her brain it wasn't working. "Okay then..." She paused as she let her eyes roam over him, she noted the eyes and the simply barely noticable shake of his arm. It was hardly noticable you needed to strain to practically see it but she noticed it none the less. "Are you sure that your okay?" Jules asked ina soft voice.

Juls kinda scrunched her brow up as she bit her lower lip as he spoke again and sure he was in the right she had come over being a nosey little tart and wanting to bug him but it really was normal equitte to try to be a little polite. "Well I apologize." Julianna muttered as she took a stel back when it hit her where she had seen him before, on the cover of a Twitch cd! He was at the signing with Willa! it was Milo Steevesn the drummer from Twitch, that was where she had seen him before. She was sure that she had seen him somewhere before. Stepping back up she looked at him with a determined look before she spoke, "Hi Milo, sorry i didn't really recongize you you are very different now than you were when the last itme I seen you. Seriously though I think you need to talk, and I am here if you want to but if you don't it's what ever."
