and i welcome you to detroit city
i said welcome to detroit city

detroit, michigan. one of the most dangerous cities in the country but home of some of the greatest musicians the nation has ever known, too. most prominently, detroit punk. and, at the center of that scene, is demon corpse records, the label that seems to be signing all of the hottest musicians, these days.

think you've got what it takes?

--deft tones
about twenty years back this old warehouse started getting used as a place for the kids in the underground rock scene to perform. that is until the cops pulled a stunt and tried to condem the place. that's when some unknown source bought up the warehouse and parking lot surrounding. now deft tones, more affectionately nicknamed DT's, runs smoothly from a collection tin at the door which people drop donations into, and no one ever steals from. this money then gets taken by attison dresner to pay for the electricity, he's sort of DT's unspoken, caretaker. DT's is a warehouse with lights and a stage, there is no bouncer, no bar, it's bring your own booze, and set up your own set. bands who wish to perform throughout the night must be the first one to sign up on a chalk board in the back near the washrooms. inside it's dank, it's dirty and it's spray painted. no one notices, no one cares. they're here to rock this city!

--jive
if you're not into the punk/rock scene, maybe jive is for you. with a more 'urban' sound, you can find today's modern jams for the pop, rap, or hip hop lover in you.

gogo more your style? this place is like a rave every night and, even though they're not serving up the drugs, it kind of makes you wonder with some of the people in attendance.

the best strip club around and not that expectant, either. the place is clean and trendy and welcomes just about anyone but the bouncers make sure the girls stay safe and the drink prices seem to help fund this lovely little establishment with their insane fees.

the very best in lgbt, fairytails is the place to be. with a theme night every friday and no cover charge on saturday, one can hardly wonder why it's the hot spot in town. if you're not into the club scene or music, drop by for the concerts by the local bands on tuesdays and thursdays and check out the hot employees dressed in their booty shorts with tails and fairy wings for both the males and famales.
