Nice to "meet" all of you. I'm a film director/producer and I wanted to let you all know about my new movie, The Philosopher Kings. It's a documentary about the wisdom found among custodians employed at some of our country's most prestigious universities such as Princeton, Cornell, Duke, and UC Berkeley.

In the film we interweave the stories of eight incredible janitors, discuss their triumphs and tragedies, and what wisdom they've acquired over the years. The film is currently screening at various venues across the country, but will soon be available on DVD.

Excellent! We haven't announced it yet but the DVD release date is set for October 2nd - National Custodial Workers Day! I'll try to remember to post again about that soon.

I watched a couple trailers for the movie. I'm interested in seeing it/buyinb the DVD, but am afraid it will mostly be depressing. Thank you for taking an interest in people like us. I'm hoping the movie will be inspiring.

The movie is very good. I recommend it to everyone. It did have sad moments, but so very much honor, wisdom and depth is shared in it. Every person blue collar, white collar, students...everyone should see this. You will come away with something - definitely a soul perk for all of us who are this line of work.

All of us have a story in us and it was wonderful to see these folks' stories brought forth in this movie. I am very glad I bought it.
