The trees are turning all shades of red and gold, but more than just the trees are changing. The Mutant Community is becoming uneasy, crime is on the rise, and human-mutant relations are becoming strained. Phoenix is quiet, having not made an appearance for several months. The world is on hold, with all sides ready to jump. One false move could tip the precarious balance and the world could become interlocked in a global conflict, with no end in sight.
Meanwhile, Professor X has sent a few of his mutants to New Orleans in search of a mutant who may have the power to defeat Phoenix. His hope rests in their ability to make her cooperate.
