Hermione was a lot more than relieved when he made a break for the door and seemed to make it out safe. She had a feeling where he was going, and she was all too glad to follow. There wasn't enough time to run back up to the common room and wake up Ronald and Harry, so she would have to brave Sirius Black alone - good thing that he wasn't the killer the Prophet made him out to be, otherwise Hermione would have been scared. Crossing the grounds to the edge of the Forbidden Forest, she looked around for him, before finally spotting him.

"Sneaky, aren't you? And smart too, if you had shifted here, at least someone would have seen you and turned us both in. And then I would have been expelled-" she paused to shudder at the thought, "-and you would have been in big trouble." Hermione finished, though she knew that he probably didn't care about that at all. It was still worth a shot. Sometimes his reckless nature was something to worry about, especially in relation to doing things that other people would consider "stupid".

Glancing around again, nervous that someone might be watching, she nodded and then stepped over a couple roots and headed deeper into the forest, though she wasn't exactly keen to go farther in than she needed to for it to be safe for him. Hermione knew that there was a matter to deal with - like why he was here. Was everyone okay at the Order? Did he have a message? Or had he just been bored, which seemed all too likely considering it was Sirius Black.

"I hope I don't have anything to be worried about," she said, once they were deeper in. "And that this is just a social visit, Sirius."

The dog smiled, lips pulling back to reveal sharp fangs in an effort to be friendly, though of course there was always something menacing about the black dog, something Sirius couldn’t help. Wagging his tail once for good measure, he nodded. Of course he was smart and sneaky; he had to be to survive. He let out a bark of laughter at her concerns, he didn’t care, and trouble was nothing. He’d escaped countless times before; it was no big deal to him anymore. He wouldn’t let her be expelled anyway, he’d make out like he’d kidnapped her or something.

Turning around, he walked off into the darker parts of the forest, stopping now and then to look back at her. A dog could move so much quicker in a forest than a human could, of course. He sped up quickly and darted behind a tree to transform.

Sirius turned around the tree, smirking as he did so and leant back against it, arms folded across his bare chest. His shirt was open, whether to pure laziness or to have an effect it was unclear. “I was bored,” he drawled, grinning lightly. “Nothing better to do than come see my favourite rebels.”
He paused. "And to make sure Harry hasn't done anything stupid like fall out with you and Ron again."
