General
1. Please try to register with a character's first and last name. I don't want to see things like seiyaluver123 or sailormoon_gurl. No. Just no. I expect names to be things like Seiya Kou or Usagi Tsukino. It just looks a lot cleaner and nicer that way.
2. The vast majority of sites I've been a member of have had real issues with boy to girl ratios. This rule is fairly simple. If you've already got one character who happens to be a female, then the next character you make should be a male. Of course, if you'd like to play all males, I won't hold it against you!
3. For the moment I'm not going to put a limit on the number of characters you're allowed to make; but I will say this: please, please, please be sure you can keep them all active.
3a. While I'm not going to limit the amount of characters, I will put a strict limit on characters who will interact often. For example, Usagi's player may not play Luna, or Seiya, or Mamoru or..- you get the picture. Also, please try to take characters from more than one group, if possible. There are a lot of other characters besides the "main" group, folks!
4. Original characters are allowed; but there are a few restrictions for those. For example, I don't want to see any original Senshi running around unless previously discussed with one of the administrative team.
5. Absolutely no mary sues or gary stus kids. I shouldn't even have to say this, but it's a fact that miss mary and mister gary are a part of the roleplaying world. I want to see real flaws and things. Nobody is perfect!
6. Things like pregnancy, character death, marriage and other things of that nature must be discussed with myself or another admin first. That's it, end of story. And I really don't want to see an over abundance of this type of thing.
7. It is not my job to try and know where everyone is at all times, nor is it my desire to do so. I want this site to be active and to do that people need to actually post. I'm going to have to ask that we all try to post at least once a week.
Posting
1. I'm going to have to ask that all posts be at least two good, solid paragraphs; eight sentences to a paragraph... of course more is always encouraged.
1a. Absolutely no one-liners. This is not an internet chat room roleplay. If you're willing to put in a little bit of effort, then you should be able to meet the two paragraph requirement just fine.
2. Grammar and spelling are wonderful. Please try to run your posts through a spell check before posting them. Also please just look over your posts before hitting that send button to try and catch any glaring grammar errors. Now a couple spelling errors are alright but please try to catch any major ones. The edit button is our friend.
3. The site is rated R just to be on the safe side. Violence is allowed, because hey, there's a war going on and there are bound to be a few conflicts. I will ask that if there is going to be graphic violence in a thread that you put some sort of warning in the subject. Swearing is acceptable if used in moderation. Every word out of Usagi's mouth should not be "F this and F that". That's just not realistic. Plus, it's just disrespectful. Generally people swear when they cannot think of an intelligent alternative. Let's not overdo it, eh? Sex.. is a tricky subject. Kissing is alright so long as it isn't horribly graphic. Cuddling is alright. Making out is alright ONLY if you put some sort of warning in the subject of your thread. Not everyone wants to read that sort of thing and I can respect that. Sex; on the other hand, is not okay. If you absolutely must have your character get it on with another, fade to black. I cannot stress this enough. As the Stars Fall is not a porno, nor is it a dating site, and sex really has little to no place here. Sorry guys, there are plenty of places you can go to do this. Besides, pornagraphic material is against invisionfree's TOS and I'd rather not have my site closed. Thanks.
4. Absolutely, and I mean absolutely NO netspeak/chatspeak/leetspeak in the RP areas of this board. I will allow it in the OOC sections, though I would prefer we all use proper english..
Applications
1. Please post applications in the correct forum and nowhere else. The forum is clearly marked and there should be no reason to confuse it.
2. There is no reservation system. If you would like to try for a character, I would ask that you check the canon list to be sure they're not taken. It's pretty much first come first serve, so if you want that character it would make sense to get that application up as soon as possible.
3. Until your application is accepted, do not post anywhere in the in character forums. I don't mind if you post in the OOC sections, but do try to avoid roleplaying until you're accepted.
4. Applicants now have a total of a week to get their applications finished, without posting a valid reason in the absence forum. Seven days is really long enough to do a good one. After one week, all unfinished applications will be moved to the appropriate forum and the accounts will be deleted.
Graphics
1. First of all, let me just say that this is completely optional. I know, we all love to look at pretty pictures, but honestly I'm more concerned about how well you're going to portray your character than whether or not you can find several dozen pretty pictures of them.
2. No stretching the board with signatures. I would prefer if you had one signature image, but I'm not going to set this in stone. The absolute maximum limit for signatures is 500x300 for one image or somewhere around 250x150 if you're using two images. Just use common sense folks.
3. On face claims: I'm going to ask that we try to use real people. I know, we all love the anime representations of the characters, but it's just a personal preference and it's really not that big a deal. If you have any concerns or difficulties finding a playby, just ask!
3a. Just a little note, I would like to request that you at least attempt to find someone who could pass as your chosen character. If you're playing Hotaru, I certainly do not want to see some tall, big chested, half naked blond. Just use common sense guys! Also, the faces listed for the canons are completely negotiable, so feel free to suggest someone else if you can find someone better!
3b. Another thing on graphics: I don't want to see any nudity or pornographic images either in signatures or avatars. That stuff is against the invisionfree TOS and I just don't want to see it. If I see it, you're going to be forced to remove it.
CBOX
1. No advertising. We have a forum specifically for that.
2. No harassment. Just try to get along, savvy?
3. No spamming. This is pretty basic.
4. No OOC drama. Roleplaying is supposed to be enjoyable and if there is always someone airing out their problems in the cbox then things start to get horrible. Just don't do it.
