For centuries, it has been the talk of America because of the long stretches of coral beaches, unpredictable weather and ancient legends. Legends which were passed from one generation to the other. The stories that were narrated to every Los Ayalan child to put them to sleep. Epic tales of the undead creatures who crawled to life at night. LITTLE did the innocent mortals who led a normal life know that they were in the dark. Few of them were the secret keepers of the ancient, royal family - The Ayalas. VICTOR AYALAwas 31 when one night he got lost in the woods of England, some 2500 years ago. He was attacked, bitten and then transformed into something unnatural. His heart stopped breathing and he felt himself have strange abilities. Abilities which helped him to survive. But with those boons came a curse. An uncontrollable thirst for human blood. A thirst that made him kill his own family. He killed his parents. One night, the thirst grew so much that he wanted to kill his pregnant wife. She would be so tasty and he knew that the baby would be cherry on the topping. She was asleep next to him, he could have easily bit her neck while she gasped in surprise. But he couldn't! He was the first vampire ever to resist food. To resist blood! He asked to fled USA when he was asked to leave. LOS AYALA was the perfect refuge for him. He discovered the island when there were only nomads living there in 1500. An old tribe tribe called 'The Antara' tribe. He began a new respectable life there changing the economy and look of the island. He began a new rule there creating a family for himself and sheltering a few other refugee vampires. Thus, in the world of vampires, Los Ayala was heaven on earth, where vampires would be forced to live a normal life by the rules created by Victor Alaya. THE RULES created by the king vampire were very simple. The mortals must never know the secret. The mortals if attacked must be disposed off in a proper manner. So to ensure that everyone was well-fed, he allowed every vampire to have the souls of certain mortals either forcefully or willingly. Once a vampire bit a mortal, the mortal's soul would be owned by the vampire. This ensured blood supply and constant amusement for keeping the vampires entertained. The last rule was the most important - No engaging in any type of war with the other creatures. OTHER CREATURES can be called werewolves in other words. Werewolves come from the Antara tribe. They have lived since the existence of mankind. Their power comes from the moon. While a vampire bite can transform mortals to vampires, werewolf can only pass on by heredity. The soul existence of the werewolf is to fight and rid the land of the blood suckers. CURRENTLY Los Alaya lives in peace. At least the vampires living under the Alaya rule and the werewolves, (the leader of which - Rufus Drake who agreed to a few clauses with Victor Alaya) live in peace. The mortals will be safe as far as the the secrets are safe. But how long will the peace last? Todays young blood is rebellious and thus the knots tying the mortals, vampires and werewolves in peace is slowly loosening! There now prevails.... THE SILENCE BEFORE THE WAR
