Pay my respects to grace and virtue
Send my condolences to good
Hear my regards to soul and romance
They always did the best they could

And so long to devotion
You taught me everything I know
Wave goodbye, wish me well
You've gotta let me go

Are we human or are we dancer?
My sign is vital, my hands are cold
And I'm on my knees looking for the answer
Are we human or are we dancer?

first i was a hatchling;
{the roleplayer}

name:Rachel
age:Seventeen
rp experience: Four and a half years
other characters: None at the moment
contact info: e-mail - raquelcita@gmail.com
how did you find us: An advert on another site

waiting for my bones to form;
{the basics}

full name:"Jai Acheron Tanith is the name. Feel free to wear it out."
nickname(s):"My name is one syllable, so I find a nickname to be rather pointless. Some people call me Blue Jai on occasion."
birthday: "I made my debut on February 13th. It was a Friday.
age: "Me? I've been around for nineteen years. So, in other words, yes, I am legal."
year: "I have been in this lovely place for the last three years of my life."
course: "Am I human, or am I dancer?"

next i was a fledgling leaping;
{the looks}

height:"I am 6'3". Yes, I know that that makes me tall. Heh, it happens."
build: "Thin, thin, thin, thin, thin. It is a necessity in this business. I do have some muscle though. Have to be able to hold the 'big girls' up. It would be a shame if I dropped one."
eyes: "Ice blue, baby. They have been known to heat up in a moment of passion."
hair: "I've had a couple of instructors complain about my shaggy, black locks, but, quite frankly, they can go fuck themselves. I like them."
playby: "Play by? I am an original. But, if you had to say I look like someone, I would probably say Josh Beech. He is a pretty sweet model.'
general/other: "I have tattoos and my ears are gauged. I know you are probably thinking, 'Awwww, hell, not another freak show.' Well, for your information, I like them. Get over it. Another thing I like is tight clothing. It must be because it reminds me of the clingy material my leotard is made out of. Just so you know, I am secure enough in my masculinity to not be concerned about how that last sentence sounded. Let's see... what else? My lips are pleasant and peachy I guess. I have a really low voice. I am pale as paper. That is what happens when you spend all of your time in a dance studio. Maybe I am just protecting myself from dangerous UV rays. You really don't know. Now that I mention it, why am I even telling you these things? Bug off. I should be practicing"

"What? You want more? Fine. My hair is pretty much amazing. It is flippy and expressive and an extension of myself. It moves with me when I dance. Pretty much the best hair ever, if I do say so myself. The only problem is when it falls over my eyes. My eyes are actually pretty cold. You won't find much there unless I let you, so good luck."

&Memory - "Movies, quotes, lyrics, I remember everything, whether I want to or not."
&Charisma - "Knowing what to say and how to say it is important."
&Expression - "The way I move my body when I dance tells a story. Are you ready for it?"
&Confidence - "Large room full of people? Good. Sounds like an interesting audience."

weaknesses:
#Alcohol - "I am not an alcoholic. I just drink for the bubbly feeling."
#Pretty People - "Just look into my eyes for a little while, sweetheart. Just hold me closer."
#His Left Ankle - "I have sprained it twice in the past year. Honestly, it is not a very promising sign."
#His Family - "We don't talk about that."
#Fatty Foods - "I know I shouldn't, but goddammit are they delicious!"
#Technical Skills - "I have none of these. Really, I don't have very many practical skills. It is unfortunate."

general:
"I am outgoing, to say the least. I mean, what do you expect out of a male dancer? I pretty much have to be outgoing to survive. Some may say I am 'over the top', but you have to be to survive in this atmosphere. It is an integral part of me. You either get used to it, or you don't. You can probably tell by now that I am not afraid to say what I am thinking. I am confident. I that it is a strong point and I really don't care if you disagree. I use the word 'I' a lot. That is because it is my number one priority.

Even though I think I am pretty much the most amazing person ever, I must admit that I have my flaws. I really would prefer you didn't tell anyone this, but sometimes my confidence is to cover up a bit of insecurity. I should probably be in the drama department. I am very good at acting in the opposite way of what I'm feeling. Actually, nevermind, I think the drama kids can be sort of weird. Don't tell them I said that... I might want to get with one later.

You won't hurt me. It would be pretty damn hard even if you were trying your very hardest. I don't want to say I am a hardass... but yeah, I am a hardass. Well, at least I want you to think that I am. Some things really scare me, but I just usually choose not to talk and/or think about them. Right now I am just flowing with things. I want easy relationships and people that make me happy, even if it is only for a night. It may not be the healthiest way to live, but I am getting by."

oh how they fall;
{the history}

mother:Samantha Tanith-Jones - Deceased
father:Erik Jones - Total Asshole
sibling(s)/other family: Stepmother - Vivienne Jones - Idiot Prick
hometown: Seattle, Washington
history:
Life really could do a lot to a guy. Some think that it has something to do with fate. Others think it is by chance. Some feel it is just plain out, damn bad luck. Jai had a feeling that it was the last one. Then again, what do you expect from someone who was born on Friday the thirteenth? Talk about a bad sign.

Wealthy would be an understatement when describing what little, baby Jai was born into. Filthy rich would probably be a more accurate term. His mother was the heiress to some sort of cosmetics company and his father had invented the first cruise ship. No matter how many cars or houses you had, your family wouldn't necessarily be any more functioning. If anything, it made it worse. Much worse.

From his earliest memories, things with his parents had always been fucked up. His mother, a quiet woman, had some sort of issue that was never quite cleared up. It was later speculated to be post-partum depression. Not a very fun experience. His dad's vice was violence. It took quite a bit of his mother's pricey cosmetics to creatively cover the bruises. Not a good situation.

After ten years of the treatment, Samantha snapped. Whatever part of her that had been sane was gone. The only good thing she did before she pulled the trigger was leaving her son her fortune. A smart move on her part. His father could have cared less.

Jai was devastated. Through all of his formative years, his rather aloof mother had been the one to take care of him. To make him happy. To love him. Hatred grew in the small child with such intensity that he began to get in trouble at school. He would thrash out at students and teachers. No one could seem to reach the scared little boy.

When teachers started noticing the bruises on Jai, his father promptly removed him from school. He claimed that it was for "family bonding and recovery." In all actuality, Jai was put onto the largest cruise ship owned by his fathers company and tutored on board. He was assigned a nanny and a room and was left to his own devices.

While his father gallivanted around the world with his new play thing, Vivienne, Jai took full advantage of what his father had inadvertently given him. The opportunity to dance. The ships staff took an instant liking to the quiet little boy that had been dumped into their laps. It took a couple of weeks to crack him, but they were able to find out what he needed.

Jai stumbled upon dance practice one day. The ship's entertainers were learning a new routine for an upcoming show. The little boys eyes lit up with a fire and glee that seemed impossible. The director, Miss Snow, could not help but feel compassion for her new little protege. Soon he was learning moves and practicing hours a day, dancing being a release for all of the pain and anger that he had been piling away.

The young boy grew into a young man. A young man who could dance extraordinarily well. He was often the headliner on whatever cruise ship he was calling home. All away from his father and his loathsome new wife. The cruise ships were a great environment for him. Tons of pretty girls wanting to spend a night with the dancer. It was great, but he wanted more. Something that wasn't his father's.

That was when Milestone Academy entered the picture. Using his mother's inheritance, Jai was able to pay his way into the school. His father couldn't have been more angered by his choice in career. Between going to school, and going back to the ship for breaks, Jai has cut out a new life and a new family for himself, no matter how strange it really. is.

how we fall;
{the sample}

rp sample:
The stars really seemed to hold everything. In their depths are infinite possibilities. So many things could be there. Things that no one could comprehend. Hestia liked to imagine what people on other planets would be like. What they would look like, what they would sound like. All of the little details. In a way, it was a game she liked to play with herself. She had let other people join before, but they just couldn't get as into it as she did. They just didn't connect in the same way.

Laying on her back, her hands under her head, the sixth year Hufflepuff looked up at the sky intently. It wasn't chilly, the weather still being warm enough for shorts. Hestia found herself in a rather short school skirt, a Hufflepuff yellow polo on. Her black hair spilled around her as she star gazed. She wondered if there was magic on other planets too.

It was a strict violation of rules to be out of your dormitory this late, but it hadn't prevented Hestia from making what had to be her hundredth venture out onto the grounds. There was something alluring about laying in the grass, looking at the galaxies. She could never put her finger on it, but she figured it was the same part of her that loved Divination, and things of that sort. Others may nnot understand it, but that didn't really matter.

Blue. For some reason, tonight, she had the distinct feeling that other people on other planets may be blue. It was quite a lovely shade, and it could make sense. Blood in a human was blue before it came out. So, for example, if a race were to have semi transparent skin, wouldn't they be bluish? Her assumption was probably off base, but it was fun to imagine. Too bad blue skin would clash with her House's color.

It would make her eyes look more blue though. These sorts of useless, but amusing thoughts swirled around her head, like a snitch caught in the wind. Maybe that would be what she did someday, be an astronaut. The idea almost made her laugh. It was odd that wizards hadn't looked into space travel. They would probably be much better at it. Especially if they could pull off time travel. She giggled a little as she realized wizards could be the equivalent of Dr. Who. She would have to look into it.

Finished. =] I will warn you now. It is very late, and I am tired, so I didn't proof read it. So I am sorry if there is something blatantly atrocious.
