likes:
Writing is one of her greatest abilities. She can plan out a complicated story line and have everyone drawn in by the mere explanation of it. The problem is she can never finish the story because as soon as she gets into actually writing her story, another idea pops into her head and she’s forced to forget about it and head on to this new one. Daena just wishes that she could simply finish one story before a random thing in life forces an explosion of creativity. Coupled with her love of writing, Daena likes reading other author’s work as well. From Shakespeare to Margaret Patterson Haddix, she’ll read anything that strikes any interest, but mostly historical fiction and nonfiction. History is another subject Daena likes, mostly because she finds ancient cultures and societies fascinating. Her favorite cultures include the Greeks, the Vikings, and the Aztecs mostly because their cultures are so rich in belief and myths that make good reads. When not doing anything school related, she’s either found with her best friend, doing volunteer work, or going about to various museums and theatres. With Caleb she can reveal another side of her that normally most people don’t see. Besides her family, he’s the only one to hear her sing along to Led Zeppelin or smoke a cigarette for that matter. Which she enjoys both profusely. With music Dae is more into rock and classics. Bands like The Ramones, ACDC, Led Zepplelin, ELO, and many others from that time period. She also likes letting go with Knight, though it is a bit more awkward then with Caleb. She tends to want to invite him to intelligent activities that makes up most of her life, watching old 1950s movies, going to auto shows, all of those good calm activities. Something that she wouldn't subject him to is looking at vintage dresses which she hopes one day to own a few. She likes the older years, who can blame her. Some of the greatest things come from them. Just don’t get her talking about it, she’ll never stop…sides if you give her a nice nut roll candy bar. Then she’ll have no choice but to shut up and stuff her face.
dislikes:
Even if Daena makes up the better off when if comes to money, she can’t stand it when people flaunt it or act as if they’re better then everybody else because they have a loaded back account. Even if she isn’t religious, she still believes people are created equally, just some people get the short of the stick when it comes to fate. Even though she may not like her home town because of how engrossed it is in sports and competing to be the best, she still prefers small town communities because city kids are usually idiots when it comes to nature and living simpler. Daena can identify Bromgrass from Velvet lead and point out where not to plant a field while none of those kids would be able to, of course reading a variety of books helps her in that matter as well. Marshall is probably worse of then most big city schools in Daena’s opinion. She can’t stand half of the people the run in the popular crowd, she hates how noisy, rowdy, and crowded football games are, and most of all she hates being pushed off as the nerdy door mat. There are few things that she doesn’t like more then her hometown. She is deathly afraid of large bodies of water. Can’t stand being on a boat or swimming out at sea. That has to do with her many nearly drowning experiences. Doesn’t like being critiqued by peers. She’d rather be guided along by a mature adult because they can teach her more then someone her own age can. Daena also doesn’t like loosing anything, especially not her personal belongings. It must be found before anything else is kind of how that works out, and normally, after the whole house is torn apart, she’ll find it in the most obvious place. Of course, that’s the from the person who doesn’t like dancing or holidays.
flaws:
Daena tends to be rather straight foreword and kind of a know it all. It’s something she is trying to work on though. When it comes to her body, she hates it. Daena is a recovering anorexic, but few know about her problem. She also likes planning everything out, and when it doesn’t work out that way, she gets down on herself. She hasn’t learned that real life isn’t like a book. You can’t control every element in it.
habits:
Daena loves correcting English and anything she knows is wrong. Which makes her a great teacher and tutor. She also bites her nails allot when nervous. It seems her nails are getting shorter and shorter these days, perhaps because of a certain jock? Tends to keep her real feelings locked away. Which makes it easier for her to help people.
dreams/goals:
Daena wants to graduate high school and head off to a nice college. From there she wants to graduate with a degree is Literature and English and become a teacher. Before she dies, she would like to finish one book and have it published.
secrets:
Has a huge crush on a jock from the Carson family. She isn’t saying much of anything to anyone about it, becase she has a boyfriend and doesn't want to hurt the guy she is getting to have feelings for more and more. She hates being a door mat for people. Over the years its become apparent to herself that people like using her. Sometimes it would be nice to get something in return. Wants to do something worthwhile in high school, so that her whole life doesn’t seem inadequate.

general personality: (at least two well written paragraphs.
Daena Amber Monroe is known for her good deeds. When someone needs a shoulder to cry on, she’s always there. Then it comes to people less fortunate then herself, it seems that Daena wants to help all of the time. A homeless man on the corner begging for change, the girl will empty out her pockets of all change. A shelter needs a volunteer, Daena will jump on the chance to dish out soup to the hungry or entertain frightened animals. Daena is the stereotypical do gooder at her school. Probably as one of the cleanest records around, and even if she does get in trouble, its not like community service is a big deal to her like it would be to others. It’s not like Daena is willing to mess up her record or grades in the first place. A good education and future are her main concerns as of the moment.

Daena is only sociable when others speak to her first. She won’t go out of her way to make friends with any body, but will establish good grounds with most. There really is no one that Dae will call her enemy. Not to say there aren’t people that she simply doesn’t like, she just is less vocal about it then most. If a person she doesn’t get along with asks her what a homework assignment was, typically she’ll tell them and maybe even throw in some headers about how to do it. That’s just Dae being Dae though, underneath it all she’s kicking herself in the rear for not just saying no. It tends to be her down fall, this word no. It’s not really in her dictionary.

In her world there really isn’t any one to lean upon, except her family and best friend Caleb Miller. Even though Caleb seems to be more judgmental then herself, he has always been there for her and is willing to help when no one else will step up. Maybe it is her kindness to him that makes him the best of friend. Daena would accept nearly any one unless they’ve done her wrong one too many times. There is no offense and very little defense to Dae and that’s what makes her the classic stepping stone for many. While everyone else may think insults don’t bother her, on the inside she is hurting more then anything. She just never points out her pain.

It’s only with Caleb that she releases that stereotype that she upholds and dwindles in the ‘bad’ parts of life. Where she’ll curse and drink or do something outrageous and not care. She only does it around Caleb because he is her most trusted friend. Over the course of the last few mothes though, she has started to open up to her current boyfriend Knight. More and more she feels herself growing attached to him, even if he is a grade younger.

Overall, Daena tends to be serious about her future and the actions she chooses to get there. She knows that she will get in to college no matter what, there is no room for her not to. Once she gets into a college out of state, it’ll be her opportune opportunity to leave this place, leave all the people and its mostly painful memories and have a fresh start. There, she can reform herself, maybe become something more then just the stepping stone for everyone.

mother's name/age: Emily Monroe; 41
mother's occupation: Realtor Sales Woman

father's name/age: Alan Monroe; 43
father's occupation: Stock Investor and Realtor

siblings: [Open] Monroe (f,15), [Open] Monroe (m,14)
children: None
other:
pets: A stray dog that Daena took in out of love. Buddy is primarily her dog, since she was the one that brought him into their home, but his protective over them all. He is a blue heeler with a little hit of black lab mixed in. He is getting up in age, but he’s still able to run around with ease.

relationship with family:
Daena has never been in any major beefs with any one in her family, perhaps maybe the occasional frustrated moments, but in no way does she hate any one in her family. Sure, she isn’t that close with her parents any more, but that’s her pulling away to become an adult soon, and them letting go of her. It isn’t because she doesn’t like them. If anything, she still chats with her mom about girl things, which makes her closer to her mother then father. But what father wants to hear about which boy his daughter likes and which boy has been eyeing her. That only leads to a shotgun and some poor boy dead. Daena still loves her dead too, though its harder to talk about tampons and chocolate cravings. He’s the one that gave her her immense interest in books. He’s always buying her a new book to put in her collection or taking her to a museum opening. So it is him that she can share the interest of learning with. Then there are her two younger siblings. Daena has tried to be a good role model for them her whole life. She’s closer with her younger sister more so then her little brother, mostly because she isn’t sure how to act with him. She hasn’t believed in god since the freshmen year and instead replaced him with fate and destiny. She’s proud to know that her little brother won’t turn into a horn dog jock though, and is proud to see him dedicated and faithful to something in his life. With her sister, its more of a tease then love relationship. They pick on each other lightly, which makes them even closer because they now that the other is only kidding. Even with this new development in the picking, involving a certain jock…that Daena only sort of has a crush on, Daena is still calm about it, knowing that her little sister wouldn’t ever try to hurt her.

hindsight is 20/20

best memory:
When all three of the Monroe kids got into high school, their parents were so proud of all of them, though for what Daena has still to figure out, that they took the lot out to dinner at a fine restaurant in Terrence. They all ate merrily and told jokes, a major bonding experience for them all since Emily and Alan tend to work quite a bit. They were so loud that they were asked to leave and from their they rented movies and bought theatre goodies and went home to lounge around in their living room and watch comedies together.
It also ties up with a few of her most recent dates with Knight. Though she would chose her family memories to be formal and nice.
worst memory:
Try any of her near death swimming accidents. Her worst one would be two years on a boating trip with her family. They were out to sea, a little off shore, and she was sitting on the ledge trying to calm herself, because water has never been her greatest point of strength and she figured this could be great place to start learning how to conquer her fear. A rough wave sent the boat jerking to the left, sending her over the side. Daena went under instantly and nearly fainted from the fright. It was her dad that saved her and performed CPR on her. To her, the feeling of drowning is the worst thing ever to experience.

brief biography: (at least 3 well written paragraphs or 25 bullet points in a
Well, of course she was the first child of Emily and Alan Monroe. At the time they had just gotten in to the realty business and were doing pretty well for themselves. They had married around twenty and had their first child only a few years later. The two were young, in love, doing well in business, and already having babies. As a child Daena ate quite a bit, which made her a chubby little cherub that everyone wanted to ogle over. After her sister was born that ended, but Daena felt no jealousy towards the no asset for stealing her spotlight. She was kind of a calm, fat, and content baby as long as she had her bottle. Daena was a quick learner for her age, mostly due to her mother wanting her children to be smart and grow up to be something in this world. Her mother would sit around with her children and read to them, show them different things and make them name it, tell them what color something was. Emily did a good job teaching her children what they needed to know at a young age.

Upon entering Kindergarten Daena was already pretty knowledgeable in most of the subjects. She knew her colors and ABCs, though math was always a little harder for her to understand. Becoming the teacher’s pet relatively easily, Daena never really had any friends. No body wanted to hang out with the girl that raised her hand for every question and volunteered to help pass out papers, even if the rest did it, she did it obnoxiously. So most of her elementary life was spent simply following the teachers around and with her nose in a book. The fact that she didn’t interact very well didn’t really concern her parents at the time, they were too proud of her academic achievements and all Daena wanted to do was keep that praise in her life.

In middle school, now that was when it finally started to hit her. The fact that she wasn’t able to interact easily with the other kids frustrated her, and no matter how much she tried to get noticed, no one did. Besides Caleb Miller. He was the one to approach her and make the first act of friendship. Her parents were overjoyed to find out that she had at last made a good buddy, but mostly because it helped get her spirits back up and with that her grades. Her writing also started here as well, though it had been with her for the longest time, she began to hone that ability and started mapping out story plots and writing little bits and pieces of literature. Writing became her passion and release.

Upon entering high school, Daena began to worry about the little bit of fat she had. She wasn’t in athletics and didn’t really run around like the rest of the kids. To most she seemed average, but to Daena she wanted to be like the girls in the media and the popular girls at her school. So she became anorexic. Knowing what the affects could be in the future, she went and did it any ways and lost a dangerous and unhealthy amount of weight in freshmen year. Though she really didn’t know what difference it would make, she tended to stay in the back ground often except with Caleb and a few others.

Sophomore year was a little rough for her. In gym class she ended up fainting from fatigue because she was over exerting her self on what little was in her system. The tired aura didn’t really fade out and it made her grades drop a little and made her family and friends notice that something was wrong. In order to keep them from prying at one of her secrets, she began to eat a little bit more and got back on track. The worry went away and everything turned back to normal. She even entered in a few writing contests and placed, got her grades back up to what they were, and started to get interested in guys…finally. It took allot of work for her to get her own life back on track, but that didn’t stop her from helping others as well. Sophomore year she began to tutor others when needed, which helped her get a better grasp on the material as well.

When Marshall burnt down, Daena didn’t know what to think. It was a shock, but it didn’t bother her too much. There were other schools to go to and even home schooling was an option for her and her siblings, but when the state announced that Marshall students had to go to Terrence, she knew trouble would start. The hatred between the two schools had lasted for years and wasn’t bound to end any time soon. Going to Terrance doesn’t bother her as much as it does the other students, sports was never her strong point.

It was only recently that Daena got her first real crush, and to most of her friends and family’s shock, it was to a jock. She had already had her eye on him, but once she started tutoring him, much to her dismay, she started to feel a strong attraction towards him. Mostly, she loves his shoulders and how it seems there is so much more to him then this jock boy charade. But then, there is also the problem of her already having a current boyfriend. Walker and her have been dating for the past three monthes, and no matter much she wills her self not to look at him. She was feelings for Knight of course, and wouldn't dare hurt him, so as far as she is concerned, she'll keep her emotions about Carson uner the radar from the two of them, and hope that everyone that has been informed or figured it out keeps quiet.

QUOTE ("KikitoAyanae")
The calm was all Ada could offer Pagan. He looked so uncomfortable, so out of place. Almost like the dog sliding around, scared and confused on leather seats of a speeding and jerking car. Even though, deep down, she was uneasy with all this herself. Why would they need to travel in such a manner? Cars were something of her past, something she didn’t really want to revisit. And by the look plastered on Pagan’s face, he wouldn’t after this was all over and done with. She looked every once in awhile back at Pagan, their eyes meeting briefly, his pleading for the madness to stop and hers trying to sooth. But most of the time, she was able to clear her mind with the music that Zarya had provided for her. It was almost a relief to have some sort of escape. Even if it was the brief verses of Rob Zombie or Led Zeppelin. Even a few tracks with some hip hop and techno suited the need to release her future concerns, whether it laid with in their own group or from an outside force.

Pagan sat still for the most part, only sliding and leaning when there was a sharp turn. It was like walking with out legs, the sensation was there, but he wasn’t doing anything. It was so confined in the space, and he quickly noticed that these were the objects folded around poles and crushed like accordions in the newspapers. He cringed for a second and bit his lip. He didn’t want to end up like the people did. Humans or not, he wasn’t any more immune to metal to the gut. How Theron and Zarya could do such a thing, he wasn’t sure. Perhaps the years of being able to adapt. The moving and blending in. His pack had never expected human death traps. They lived their own way. Ada clearly was used to these contraptions too, when her lineage had been unknown to her. He was the only one, with quacking nerves. The music merely blistered his ears, scolded him for having gotten in to the car in the first place. What if they were to all die?

His eyes glanced down, noticing that the handle was starting to bend in an unusual manner. If it hadn’t been for his fear at the moment, he would have flushed pink and let go. But he could only think of how it would break if anything really happened.
‘ Stop it…’ he warned himself,’ Stop that before you crack,’ he sighed, then drew in a sharp and shaky breath, opening his ears for some soothing rhythmic sound. The sort that might steer him into a light sleep. This metal contraption seemed to hold allot of those sounds, but the only two sounds that he wanted to hear were the two voices in the front seat. So pure and angelic. Nearly enough to bring a tear to one‘s eyes. Ada’s in an alto, simple and sweet, like she was by nature and spirit. And Zarya’s, nearly beautiful enough to belong to his mother. So crystal clear and heart stopping. He didn’t want it to stop.

But there came a time, when their voices couldn’t calm him. The stop at the gas station had only made him form a grudge against Zarya for the time being. Why did she insist on putting her nose where it didn’t belong? He was clear to make his agitation known. It seemed to him Zarya was trying to point out how much he watched over Ada. He sat in the back seat, happy he at least had gotten them to stop singing, happy he had ruined Zarya’s fun. She only prodded her fingers in between Ada and himself. It wasn’t far that Ada wouldn’t sing for him, but she would for Zarya. Pagan kept his discontent hidden, hiding his face most the time by staring aimlessly out the window. His eyes only drawn back when light snoring joined Theron’s. A smile almost broke out across his face, like a teenager’s blemishes, not willing to stay unsurfaced. Pagan wasn’t even aware of Zarya watching him and Ada. Her words nearly a shock.
‘ Yes, she does look so innocent. Undamaged by the world,’ he thought and kept it to himself, afraid to ruin the look on Ada’s face. Her dreams probably filled with a beautiful family. A shadowy figure, her lover and little black haired children. Or that’s what he wished she would dream for. She deserved that happiness and more. Her dreams were probably plagued with the need to run, the want of freedom. The woodlands of the north, and the deserts of the south. What of Zarya? He realized only too late. Had she dreamed of a pretty family, or like Ada did she dream of adventure? Did her dreams drive her to be what she was? A hunter of hunters?

Sleep finally found Pagan, light and with out visions. Though his mind never did stop reeling over distant thoughts. He only responded when roused by someone’s words. Though it was brief and he didn’t really care for any real response. Everything was so distant, so surreal in his mind, almost as if it didn’t belong to him at all. The sudden compression on his thigh was almost a welcomed distraction, one he was surprised to find Zarya, settling in for sleep. Nothing he said would get her to move, nothing. She certainly was a stubborn woman. So with out further argument, he settled back into his light slumber.

Ada woke with a start, sucking in a breath and stretching her arms out. For a second she had nearly forgotten where she was. Then it all flooded her again, the quick pick up and move, Zarya and her singing and chatting, her falling asleep. She turned with a light smile on her face towards the driver’s set, not to find Zarya this time, but Theron.
‘ How long have I been asleep?’ she asked her self and looked around in confusion. The cds were the only logical thing she could piece together for the moment. She took one and stuck it in, grabbing for the book in the glove compartment, almost reluctantly. Theron was next to her? Why was he driving? She didn’t know how to talk to Theron. He was so much like Pagan in some senses. So hard to talk to, or at least begin to talk to. But she figured there wouldn’t really need to be much chatter since Zarya was sleeping on a drowsy Pagan’s lap. She turned her head and hide a light smile.
‘ So cute,’ she thought and opened the book, something about a mass murder and his art, intriguing. Though her mind couldn’t really pick up the words, they merely skimmed over her brain and landed back on the page, unabsorbed. Why was she so distracted? It almost burned her up to think it could be Pagan and Zarya, that made some sense, but she never had felt that way towards Pagan. If anything she was glad to see such a sweet scene between them, even if Pagan’ sour face ruined it all. Ada’s mind could paint a happy face in it’s place.

Pagan rubbed his head, massaging his temples. Such a headache and sickness possessed him. Then, as if the blasted hunk of metal wanted to drive him insane, it began to make awful noises, until Theron pulled it over the edge of the road. That was when it all went down hill.

QUOTE ("Nakeely")
“Damn it,” Theron swore. “What’s wrong,” Pagan asked completely unfamiliar with cars in general. “Well for one thing we’re running low on gas there was supposed to be a station back at that rest stop but there wasn’t I was hoping that we’d make it to the next station before we had any problems but that’s not what caused the car to die unless her gauges are off.” Sighing he got out of the car and tried to pop the hood but it was too hot. Pagan careful not to wake Zarya slid out too as did Ada. “Well,” Ada asked? Theron shook his head. “We probably need oil and we definitely need gas,” he said as he went to the back of the jeep he was fairly sure that he had seen a can of each back there when they were loading the jeep up last night. He did but both we’re empty. “The car needs to cool down it’s over heating. I can’t really pop the hood yet so I’m not sure if there’s anything else wrong right yet. And I don’t want to wake Zarya since she drove all night. Would you two be willing to walk into town and grab what we need? Or we could push it into town but I’m not sure that’s the greatest idea either.”

Pagan glanced back as if pushing it wasn’t a bad idea. He weighed the option very carefully. However he turned up deciding against it. After all, metal turned out weighing allot in the mass that this jeep was. Plus, that would take longer, pushing it along the road. He glanced over at Ada and found the answer in her eyes.
“ We’ll head along the road and find the nearest station,” he said and smiled weakly, as if this was the last thing he wanted to do, but in reality, he nearly rejoiced for opportunity to get away from the cage on wheels.

Ada stood there for a second after Pagan had nodded his departure to Theron.
“ Are you sure you want to stay here?” she asked,” Zarya can take care of her own, plus I’m pretty sure Pagan has no idea what kind of oil we need…I can guess,” she looked over and found Pagan waiting for her a little ways up the road, his head turned towards them,” Never mind, I’ll just ask the clerk,” she laughed and jogged off to catch up to Pagan.
(This post actually gave me a slight headache...lolz. Kind of poorly done, but I wanted it out of the way)

Mine from MonsterGames. Not sure if this is what you meant, I can write up a new one if you want. I think there was a slight time lapse in this one, so it was kind of rushed.

the break's over, the take's over
