I'm sure at this point, if you've been on my sites before, that you're expecting a lot of grand notions of community, good writing, and flourishing. But I've been an admin of about eight or nine failed sites - I'm done with that language. I'm done trying to evoke some sense of community when time and time again I have seen it fail. I have slaved over sites and neglected other responsibilities for a site to last a few months, only to appeal because my work looked good and have people ditch after a few weeks. I do all this because for some reason I care about writing and I care about the idea of writing with other people.

Hence why I am doing this again.

And while I can point the fingers, that won't be of any edification for you. Most of you already know the atmosphere of role playing can be toxic, filled with people who fight like bitchy middle school girls at a bump-and-grind dancefest. But the point of this site is to acknowledge that this is the reality most of us role players find ourselves in, and while it is tempting to throw in the towel and do something else with our spare time, I hope that somewhere within your conscience you still have a passion for writing, for creating characters and giving them stories.

As tired and pissed-off I am with failed sites and the general role player bullshit, it’s time for me - and you - to take a breather and give it another try, perhaps try and figure out what went wrong and learn from the mistakes. This is a populist process - I'm not the only one running the show here. Whether or not you want to be a part of it is up to you.

[/doHTML]
