Abaixo: (ɐ'bajʃu) 1.
adv. down, downwards. 2.
n. the Portuguese Killamarsh equivalent of London Beneath as imagined by Neil Gaiman. 3.
n. a group of wild dogs in the Killamarsh area.
The Abaixo (uh-BYE-show) is a resurgence in wild dog popularity, headed by a Brazilian with a fetish for reading. It is a pack, a Lukoi, a Rout, it's all of these things, and a community to boot. All wild dogs, be they true foxes, South American foxes, wild dogs, wolves, or something just a tad strange, but ever so canine, will be welcomed by the Abaixo. This community meets regularly above a hipster club called "The Floating Market", where all canids are encouraged to relax, hang out, or grab a bed if they fall on hard times. The strength of the wolf is the pack, and the strength of the pack is the wolf - or fox, or jackal, or racoon dog, or coyote. Welcome to the Abaixo.
OPENDOOR is the leader of the group, the one all look to for hope and
guidance in times of peace or war. They will be able to answer
questions and always make sure the group is safe. They look
after the group first, and then attend to ZI second. They are
often held responsible for the group's behaviour.
CLOSEDMAYHEW represents the traditional role of the mate of the leader,
though recent trends in coalitions have this position filled by an
opposite-gendered person acting as a coleader. They are not
as revered as Door, but they complete the leader, offering
differing opinions or otherwise making up for Door's weaknesses.
lucas wyntersMARQUIS DE CARABAS is the second in command, the one who
takes command if the leaders are absent, and give counsel on
important issues regarding the Abaixo. The Marquis tends to
look outside the group for threats or problems that may affect
the group and brings these to the attention of the leaders.
gerulf bergARCH is the third in command, the one who takes command
if the leaders and the Marquis are absent. Arch gives counsel
on important issues regarding the Abaixo, though they tend to
look inside the group for threats or problems that may affect the
group and brings these to the attention of the leaders.
OPEN&
nina peckinpahTHE ANGEL ISLINGTON are two halves of the same coin: they
advise not just the leaders, whoever might be in charge, but any
wild dog that might need advice regarding group politics. They
take all the information from the group, the Marquis, Arch, etc,
and they inform the leader of the best decision.
geli eisenhartHUNTER is the group warrior, in charge of taking charge of the
Black Friars and attacking enemies of the Abaixo before harm
can come to the pack. Hunter is revered as a fierce fighter and
honourable. Their job is always to defend the pack from Door
to the least member.

OPENBLACK FRIARS are the guardians of the Abaixo, able to defend
the pack, or take the initiative on the direction of Hunter and
attack enemies. They are able fighters, and it is from their
ranks that the next Hunter will be chosen. There are currently
three spots for Black Friars, with potential for more.
OPEN&
OPENMR CROUP & MR VANDEMAR are the bogeymen, the ones
that go bump in the night and are used to scare misbehaving
wild dogs into being good. Their methods are nasty, and they
answer only to the leaders. Best think twice about not abiding
by the law. Mr Croup is the brains of the operation, whereas Mr
Vandemar is the muscle. Together, they help keep the pack in
line.
bruce lockhartLAMIA is as attractive as they are sensuous. They teach new
zoans how to control their primal urges in bed, often through
first hand experience, though they can offer tips if the member
is at all squeamish. They must be open to taking any sort of
new zoan to bed and showing them the ropes, while having
excellent control themselves. Must be Lesser Alpha at least.
OPEN&
OPEN Annaliese Weber (Fennec Fox)THE VELVETS make excellent guides, though
where they used to actually give directions and take people to
destinations, now they act as guides to the zoan world. They
find new wild dog zoans and help welcome them into the pack.
Whether they're new to town or new to zoanthropy, they will
answer any and all questions posed to them and act as the
welcome party. They are typically quite friendly and open.
reserved!THE EARL welcomes all to his court and makes sure all
are comfortable. He oversees the running of The Floating
Market, making sure everything is well stocked and the
entertainment is always top notch. He also makes sure that
there are regular events for wild dogs to attend and bond
over.
miranda lockhartHAMMERSMITH is the handyman, the one who keeps
everything running like clockwork and seeing that everything
looks and runs its best. He keeps up on the regular
maintenance of The Floating Market, and may be employed
by any pack member for a modest fee.
OPENPORTICO keeps the stories of the pack alive and well.
They are not so much a story teller as they are the elder. They
have either graciously given up their old rank for cozy retirement
or they have been in the pack for so long, that their effort and
loyalty are rewarded. They are quite wise and worth listening to.
The leaders will often call for their counsel.
olivia vazOLD BAILEY is a sneaky spy who is excellent at listening.
They have ways of gaining valuable information which makes
them invaluable. They will regularly report to either Angel or
Islington who will relay the information to the leaders. This
position cannot be overvalued.
OPENANAESTHESIA is a brave wild dog with fleet feet; they
have to take important messages from the leaders to the rest
of the pack. It's easier in the age of email and texts, but the
more confidential information will always be run by foot to the
recipient, lest it fall in the wrong hands.
victoria creedRAT SPEAKER is the pack and the pack are the Rat Speakers.
Rats are noble beasts down Below, and wild dogs, like rats,
are at their best in large numbers. Not to say that rats don't
make a nice treat now and then. More often than not, the only
"rat speaking" a member of the Abaixo will participate in is the
sort that calls a rat to the dinner plate. There is no limit on this
rank.
OPENLEAR is a fool. A jester. A bringer of laughter. It is likely
that they have lost their rank in a challenge and need to
redeem themselves in the eyes of their pack. They will be
asked to perform demeaning tasks and be hazed. It's all in
good sport and not meant to be taken personally. Usually.
anna tambe&
cassandra belialROGUES are scoundrels and not to be trusted. Do not
treat them with disdain, but do not turn your back on them.
They will all be encouraged to join the Abaixo, and if they
decline, they will be treated warily and with distrust. There are
two position open of five.
