Personality: Noelle is an, in general, cheery person as she likes to face the hardships of life with a smile. This also translates into the way she handles things that might end up in her way, full of determination and even more passion. When she sets her mind to a task she will face it with the dedication to do the best she can. This especially shows in the fact that she tries to achieve the things which she has been told are impossible for her. However to her failure is always an option, as long as she knows and feels like she has done the best she can.
She is also an energetic personality, even though she was a bit more the quieter type during her younger years. Noelle feels like this is a small side effect from having become a Zoan, seeing it tends to show even more when she assumes her dog form. For her it’s a good way to keep in shape without having to go to a gym and that while having fun at it.
While being a dog is a big part of her life now, she’s not always too keen about being one either. Due to her upbringing she finds that being a Border Collie isn’t good enough, that it doesn’t represent her well enough in some situations or even be considered too playful. Because of that she keeps it on the down low that she is one, to the point that she will even avoid meetings with her coalition on full moon nights.
Also in contrast to the high energy that her dog side has is the organized side of her normal life, while not being classified as being OCD she does like to keep things tidy and well worked out. She simply calls it being in the zone, when everything just happens like something she rehearsed over and over again. So it won’t surprise you that she likes to approach things with a plan and has no issues with taking and following orders either. That said she won’t follow them blindly if she feels it’s not the best solution, because she wants to be the best she can be and do the things to the best she can.
History: Being an only kid the assumption of being spoiled is very likely to happen, but if anything than this doesn’t go for the Villicanas. There was for one the simple reason of them being a family that had a slightly below average income, but that wasn’t the main reason why Noelle was brought up the way she was. Both her parents carry Italian blood in their veins, even if their families are already the third generation living her in Britain, and that was something greatly valued by their parents. So while them meeting up as students was pretty random, their families pushed for them to be together.
Through the years they have learned to care and tolerate each other, maybe even shared hints of love, but in the end it wasn’t what you called a perfect couple… unless you counted Noelle into the equation. Her birth and presence seems to be that what brought them more together. That said their love was more directed towards their daughter and seeing each did that in their own way, this of course resulted in various clashes between two quite temperamental persons. Noelle never liked seeing them fight or argue as they called it, but their influences aided a lot in whom she is now.
Growing up she was expected to show the same nature as her parents, but she turned out to be not as temperamental as they were due to her disliking of their disagreements. She would just sit back and watch the whole thing happening quietly. This she did for years and as she became older and began to understand things a little more she would wait till the arguing ended and each went their own way before approaching them and trying to settle things, as their love for her seemed to be able to pull them onto common grounds.
So she became the quiet girl whom talked sense, not the best description you wanted to have in school but neither was it the worst. However it often resulted in her being overlooked and ignored, something she wasn’t too keen on. So to liven up her life she began to do small things, things which you might call pranks and such. Of course she wasn’t seen initially as the culprit, since she was a good student, and thus she began to ramp things slowly up and show signs of a little rebellion against those that had ignored her. To her own surprise Noelle gained a bit of popularity through this, though not with her teachers.
This didn’t mean to her that they were exactly friends, but seeing it allowed her to have more fun she tolerated most. Her better if not best friendship came out of a different corner, namely the one she had been in for years herself. Sure she had become popular and invites to parties and such now, yet she wasn’t forgetting about where she had come from and those still there. Amongst those had been Tink Broderick
* and well the two had hit it off quite well, so whenever something happened the two of them were bound to be involved. To the point that she brought Tink along to parties she’d been invited to, sometimes to the organizing people’s dislikes but she didn’t care.
While we were trouble we usually did it out of good fun and not because of other influences, so Noelle had never been drunk or done something other illegal… unless of course you counted some of the stuff they pulled. Either way when a few classmates suggested throwing a sweet sixteen party for Tink she was all for it, after all she was her best friend and loved the idea. In hindsight she knew that she should have known better, but she had been just happy for her friend and thus no idea that there was more to it. Hell, otherwise she wouldn’t have talked Tink into coming to the surprise party.
As the night progressed things slowly went south, neither of them seemingly knew that their drinks were spiked and it didn’t take long for the inexperienced Noelle to be wasted. When she woke the next morning with a headache, she was glad that it was the worst of it where her parents hadn’t noticed her coming home drunk. So at the time she was glad but that was all about to change the next few days. As she came to school that they she kept hearing rumors, but mostly in whispers, and was getting strange looks from other students.
When the news reached her of Tink’s collapsing, she still didn’t know what was going on, so she tried to rush to her best friend but was halfway stopped by one of the teachers and told that it was better for her to go home for the day. Confused and having, in her eyes, little choice she made her way home thinking of what was going on as well as of Tink’s well being. Yet it turned out to be the least of her concern when she came home, where her father was waiting for her and looked simply furious. Now he had never beat her and likely never would but this seemed to be the closest he had ever gotten to that point.
Once inside Noelle was forced to sit down on the couch and watch, watched as they played a video for her. It turned out to be a video of Tink’s birthday party and she thought she was starting to figure out what this was about. Though as she tried to come up with an excuse for becoming drunk, she was cut off and simply told to keep watching. Her mouth fell open with astonishment as she watched how the night had progressed and how somehow her and Tink had ended up sleeping together. It made her wonder how she had missed this, as in a way it looked quite exciting.
Sadly her parents, and her father in particular, felt quite differently about that and began a whole rant about the fact that things like that should happen with boys and never without his permission. Never had Noelle seen her dad this verbal to her and all she could do was stammer excuses at that point, the damage was already done though and her parents decided that she wasn’t going back to that school anymore or let her near her friend.
However the family didn’t have the resources to move to another place, so her parents ended up looking for alternatives for her daughter. For Noelle it meant being grounded till things were sorted and eventually they were but not in the way she expected. As two weeks after the revelations that the video had brought her father called her downstairs, declaring proudly that he had found the best way for her daughter to learn… he had enlisted her in the British Army. Noelle tried to plea with her mother not to do this, but strangely enough she sided with her father leaving her no choice but to go.
It was a rough period for her and she had serious troubles adapting to the army situation at first. Of course they were keen to push her to her limits and tell her that she could walk if she wanted, but it were those kinds of pushes that actually turned her around. Because the more they told her she wasn’t suited and couldn’t do it, the more she began to want to prove them otherwise. And so started her journey in the military, resulting in two deployments after her graduation from the Academy
In her time there she proved to be a more than capable marksman and seeing she didn’t feel like going home, back to her parents, after her four years were up she had signed on for a year more. Sadly for her no new deployment happened and thus most her time was spend on the courses practicing, even developing a bit of competitiveness in the shooting. It was during one of her mornings on the range that Noelle heard about the upcoming recruitment sessions for the Special Forces. Intrigued by it she went to inform more about it, but since they said they weren’t sure she was cut out for it she signed up for it.
Where it was still a few weeks till the sessions would start Noelle remained at the base, working her drills and running occasional errands. Most of them went off without a hitch, but the last errand she had to do turned out slightly different. What had been for her a simple petting of a dog ended up with a bite on her hand, an injury she couldn’t really use with the tests that were to come. But like before she pushed herself harder because of it and so the five weeks of testing began. It was an intense experience both physically and emotionally, pushing her really to the limits. Each day she could see the number of recruits dwindle down rapidly. To the surprise of many she was in the group that made it all the way to the fifth week and it became more and more clear that she could actually pull it off.
With about a handful of exercises left Noelle went with great hopes into the next test, a long run followed by an obstacle course all while fully packed. It was something that was doable in her mind and thus she set out that night full of her usual energy. Each recruit was starting with five minute intervals and after twenty of them had left it was her turn. Yet she was only running for half an hour as she began to feel weird, she knew it wasn’t exhaustion or stress as it was far too early for that but the feeling became worse and worse as the full moon above had different plans for her.
Her shift was all but pleasant and one of the strangest experiences she ever had, of course that would change over time but at the time it weirded her out completely. However it wasn’t the change that bothered her, it was the fact that she couldn’t pass her checkpoints like this that was mostly on her mind while her body listened more to the animal instincts that had surfaced. By the time she had changed back and made it back to the base, the result was as expected… she had failed the test and was sent packing her bags.
The failure hit hard for her and with this change happening Noelle decided it was time for a discharge, as in her eyes there was no way she could work like this without being a liability. And so it happened that she left the military behind, even though she had no clue what to do next. She ended up in Cardiff, living in a small apartment there for a while as she still didn’t want to face her parents. It was a time in which she contemplated a lot of things, as not having finished regular education was working against her.
For a while even she spend her time on the couch, watching cartoons. For some reason one of them had caught her interest and thus she kept watching it each day. At first she didn’t think much of it but that began to change when she encountered a Transformer toy in a store. She ended up buying it and then another… and another… and so a collection began to form. But through the shop owner she also came in touch with a Coalition of dog zoans and under their guidance she began to accept what she had become.
Learning to embrace her inner doggie more she learned to have more fun, to the point she even found herself a new hobby; Frisbee. God she just loved chasing that flying disc and catch it to the best she could. A fellow coalition member jokingly said that she should do if professionally, jokingly since it could be considered cheating if discovered, but that didn’t stop Noelle. It wasn’t easy but she managed to set herself up with someone willing to be her ‘trainer’ and they joined up with an official dog sports club.
Noelle did quite well and soon was gaining more recognition, to the height of actually winning the World Canine Disc Championship. It was pure excitement for her, as she found something she loved doing. However one day before another tournament her ‘trainer’ became ill and wasn’t able to accompany her to the game, so she arranged for someone else to help her out. Though she came in only second that day, it was still a huge success especially seeing that it was her ‘new trainers’ first prize. Though afterwards things got a little bit awkward.
See her regular trainer was well aware what she was but had forgotten to mention that to her replacement, so imagine her surprise when she walked into the room where she had just left her dog only to find a naked woman sitting there. It was a good thing that the other was familiar with zoans, albeit not being one herself, so it made the explaining of things a little bit easier for Noelle. It was the start of a new friendship for her and as the two got to know each other more, she suggested that Noelle would come to Killamarsh there where she lived.
At first she wasn’t too sure but the other explained that she worked with the ZI there and that seeing her background Noelle might make a good addition to the forces there. She of course needed time to think about it but the sound of a new challenge for her sounded good, so she accepted the offer and made the move up north. After having been introduced by her friend a long talk followed about her past and what she wanted within the ZI. It was a positive conversation but most of it would depend on making the necessary dedication to obtain the required papers. This was of course no objection for Noelle and so she started her transition from the military forces into the police force.
However one night as she was studying she ran into a bit of a snag, because while it seemed insignificant at first a rerun of the World Cup she won as a dog made her realize that people could recognize her like that. The last thing she wanted was not being taken seriously because of such a thing and thus she decided that perhaps it was best to keep her inner dog out of sight as much as possible.
That of course was easier said than done, seeing she became also part of the local dog zoan coalition known as the Dogon. Though on the other hand she was spending a lot of time away from the city anyways in order to get her education done, so it wasn’t all too bad. Besides her absence would prevent her from gaining a rank within the coalition and thus her presence wasn’t deemed as necessary by her if it would risk showing her furry form.
Recently she managed to obtain her final qualification and made her return to Killamarsh on a more permanent base. And with her new job at the Fire Arms Unit she started to look at life again in a more positive way, enough so that she even wrote her parents a letter to get back in touch with them.
