lol, wel duh, that's why the Japanese title of it is called Detective Conan lol =P

Story generalize:
Kudo SHinichi is a high school famous detective. But one day, as he was on some sort of case, he was attacked when caught spying on someone and was given an experiment lab pill that shrunk his size to an 8-year-old kid.The only other person who knows about this is Professor Agasa, and later, Hattori Heiji and Ai Haibara. Professor Agasa is well, a friend basically, Hattori Heiji is also a high school detective and because he's also good, he of course found out that Conan is Shinichi. Ai Haibara was also shrunk becuase of that pill, just like Shinichi, but she was the one who invented that pill. She ate it herself so that she could escape from being killed by her own co-partners.

Anyways, since Shinichi shrunk, he doesn't want the people around him to know or else, those people who gave him the pill might find him still alive and try to kill him again, which couldprobably hurt his family and friends. So, he changed his name to Edogawa Conan and lived with Ran, his childhood friend. Why? Because RAn's father is Mouri Kogoro who is also a detective, so this means that Conan might have a chance to catch those people who poisoned him if he made Mouri famous. Yah, and that's pretty much the whole story.

lol, I'm sure he turns back into his original size in the end, but the anime and manga both are not done yet, so none of us know what the creator of Detective Conan is gonna make the story turn out like.

lol, well as I said before, he used to be Kudo Shinichi, a VERY VERY FAMOUS AND BRILLIANT high school detective, but even when he shrank to a kid, his mind was still the same, so he could still solve cases and such just as good. So yeah, he's a detective who solves murders, kidnappings, and sort of cases
