Welcome - to Wolf

November 22nd - The coldest, most bitter part of the winter has come, the new year having recently past. Blizzards seem to be blowing harshly more often than not, and some areas of the pack lands are becoming impassable to wolves, with snow banks reaching tremendous heights. All lakes as well as slow-flowing rivers have frozen over sturdily enough to be tread upon, but caution is still urged.

Current Meetings ; be sure to remember to post!
Hellion Faction - Lookout Mountain - Wolfiend Captives - Timber Woods - &Wolfiends

Also all new characters/members that are wolves/shifters must begin to join a pack within 2 weeks of their register date or they WILL be captured by the Wolfiends.

ooc: this is gonna be short and sweet, I hope... I know everyone's been busy. xD

Amora had been thinking. She had been thinking over this for a very long time. And, even after discussing it with some of her advisors, she couldn't come up with an answer...

So, it was about time to come up with a pack meeting anyway, wasn't it?

The petite timber Alphess had positioned herself near the dens, right ear twitching every so often, but otherwise her body was still. Her concentration was focused on the ground in front of her, where she was trying to scratch out a rough plan of what she wanted to say (since she'd forget, she could foresee it now) but being trapped in the wolf form left no opposable thumbs to hold any sort of carving utensil with - and claws? Not so useful. The scratches across the dusty earth looked like, well, scratches across the earth, little unjointed scribbles. Damn. Amora had a backup plan (she foresaw the failure, too) and was mentally carving the words into the ground - and memorizing the mental picture. That would help somewhat.

She sat rigid with eyes glued to the ground for some time - only when a bug flitted past her nose did she jerk her face up and stare after it in disgust. She didn't really like bugs... Once assuring its presence was gone Amora looked around the clearing and huffed to herself. Time to get on with it...

Her maw rose slowly to the sky, and with a deep lung-filling breath, the small Alphess let loose a singing howl, matched to a very simple tune dancing around in her head. The rise and fall of the notes ensured that they would carry their way across the terra; no one would be able to miss it. Ah, the wonder of acoustics... it was good thing she knew it. Although she couldn't remember how she knew it...

The howl wasn't hard to catch among the silence of the terra, nor was it hard for her to determine that it was coming from her new alphess. She still didn't quite understand what happened in the time since she was last here before she joined, but now was not the time to think about that. Luckily, she hadn't been far -- only a mere mile or so away so it didn't take long for her to reach the meeting place, nor was it surprising to her that she was the first one there.

Reya bowed her head slightly in respect, before flashing a teethy smile at Amora. "Hello!" she greeted, her happiness shining through her tone. She didn't know why, but today just seemed like a good day for her for no reason whatsoever; she wasn't complaining though. She wasn't sure what this pack meeting would be about, not even if it was good or bad news, however she was excited that it'd give her the chance to see and possibly meet the other members since she hadn't seen anyone besides Amora since returning.

Angular auds slid forward as the silvery voiced howl echoed throughout the vast territory. He had to admit, he rather liked the landscape of his new 'home'. Higher than any other region of the land, the thinner atmosphere and cooler temperatures suited the massive white wolf just right. Here came the part that didn't particularly suit him though: Pack Life. He stood motionless for a minute, damning himself for being apart from Scout. He wasn't quite comfortable with gatherings such as the one that now lay ahead. He'd liked the Hellions solely for the reason that he was able to do as he pleased, being that the pack structure had crumbled in the absence of all members, let alone a sure leader. Grumbling under his breath, he knew he couldn't stall forever, he had to face it, and head to the meeting that the tiny Amora had called.

It took him a good handful of minutes, at a steady gait, to come close to where he'd pinpointed her scent. Breathing at a slightly increased rate, his warm breath formed a misty cloud inches from his muzzle. It was getting much cooler, almost cold. The first cold snaps of winter were but a matter of days away he was sure. Donovan had slowed himself so that as he walked into the company of the two females he was strolling quite casually, dark reddish brown gaze shooting directly to Amora as he lowered his head in his own way of showing his respects. Saying nothing, he stood a score of yards away from the two not looking to engage either of them. He just prayed Scout would be here soon.

Cheza was wondering her new home when she heard the alphas cal to assemble, so she then headed to where the meeting was being held.
Upon arrival she noticed Amora and two other pack members she did not know were there waiting for the rest of the pack to arrive "Hi Amora did i miss anything" Cheza asked

The pup's ears swiveled in the direction of the call, eyelids peeling open lazily to reveal shocking amber orbs. She yawned some as she lifted herself from her sleeping spot in the foliage, shaking herself free of any clingy dirt. It didn't surprise her that Amora would call a meeting at a time like this -- she was actually thankful. There had been something strange happening for awhile now. With wolves not being able to shape shift and the large amount of pollution now clouding the air, one would be stupid not to suspect anything...

Laika started off in the direction of the call, her tongue lolling out as she ran. It only took a few moments, and she was able to reach the small meeting place just as the others were arriving. She entered the den area slowly, her head low as she made her way towards the only familiar face in the bunch. She remained silent as she took a seat near the alphess, glancing at all of the other unfamiliar faces as they took their place.

Nerezza hurried though the packlands to find the source of the howl. It didn't take too long until he approached the dens and noticed a handful of wolves, most unfamiliar to him. He slowed his pace and walked to Reya's side with slight nervousness. He hoped he wasn't the last one to show up to the meeting. It was his first pack meeting and being late wasn't exactly a great first impression to the others...or Amora. Living his life as a wolf was a weird experience that he was not accustomed to and it would take some time for him to adjust. He wasn't sure how pack meetings went. He didn't know what this one was about. He wasn't sure how to act to his packmates. He didn't even know them. It was just an overwhelming experience to have to deal with such a great change.

Once he reached Reya, he nuzzled her affectionately as a hello and remained silent at her side. Thankfully he had Reya or he would be lost in a world of confusion right now.

Sakura who had always lived her life as a wolf wasnt to bothered by the inability to use her human form but what did bother her was toxins in the air for it turned the snow a greyish black color and it made the air thick and foul.
Then at that moment Sakura heard the alphess's call and the hurried to where the pack was gathering. "Sorry im late did I miss any thing." Sakura said as she arrived on scene and took her place with the rest of her pack mates

Coming and staying the shadows, Sovereign just grunted his arrival. Not caring about being trapped in his wolf form. [occ: i hate plot] 'What now, someone comes out kumbala?' he thought, feeling the cold weight of sadness and loneliness set over his heart

Noble howled when Amora did, being quite close by, sniffing about the area. He watched then as one by one as the pack arrived, not knowing any faces besides Amora's since he stayed with her.

Scout had been out looking around. She heard the howl as was darting back. Oh dear she was going to be so late...so late. Her eyes raced through the bushed and such as he searched ahead to make sure that she was running into anything. Last thing she needed was that. Moving closer to the location she slowed down and soon was walking into the crowd. Walking up she saw Donovan and smiled. Yay! Smiling she moved over to him and nuzzled him gently. So happy to see him. Looking over to everyone else she smiled still, then to Amora. She remained quiet.

OOC: I've finally got some source of power for my laptop! Yays! I dunno how long it'll last though, but here's a post.

BIC: The howl finally reached the fae's ears as she yawned herself awake. Her blue orbs scanned around the horizon as she stumble her way towards the sound. Her white fur clung to the little pieces of snow that had wedged their way in between the little hairs. She had been sleeping a lot lately, the change in the hours of day affecting her. Her bones ached midly in the cold as she trodded up, another yawn coming from her muzzle. "Morning... " She sat down patiently, lowerering her head lightly below that of the alpha's.

Well... this was a sight more fun than the last pack meeting had been. Immediately people began to show - Reya first, the ol' Hellion member Donovan next, Cheza, Laika - Laika! The Alphess smiled quite largely when she saw her enter the clearing. Man, she'd gotten a little bigger... it'd been such a long time since she saw the girl, it was crazy! Especially since the much younger version of the pup asked if she could follow her pretty much everywhere. It'd worked out that way, for a while - then Laika had separated and gone off to do her own thing for quite a long time. So seeing her here - and not off doing something crazy - was very comforting. "Hi Laika!" She called to her cheerfully, while waiting for the others to arrive.

And arrive they did - Nerezza, Reya's mate and whom Amora still didn't know very well, Sakura, Sovereign (Sovereign made an appearence! wow, she though she'd never see him again), the one and only Noble, Scout, and Snow was the last to enter the clearing. Snow was old, though, so she had allowed extra time for her and any stragglers to come in behind. The petite timber fae waited for a few more minutes, glancing around at all the faces, counting in her head because she had been afraid she'd forget on name-basis only or just by the sight of the wolf. There was 11 of them here... counting herself. That meant two were missing. They probably wouldn't show though, so it was about time to start.

Amora rose to her feet, surveying the group with the usual slightly goofy grin at the corner of her mouth, but when she began to speak, the voice was far more serious - and anyone who'd known her for very long would see that she wasn't serious, ever, at all. Oh yeah. This was way more than the last pack meeting. "Hello!" She said to everyone, looking at each member in turn. "So, looks like everyone arrived - we're only missing two, but they may show up later. If you see Rayah or Denji anytime soon, though, tell 'em to see me."

Her smile faded somewhat and she glanced at the squiggly lines on the ground, each one actually making a word now that she'd spent the time memorizing it. "So, I suppose everyone knows what's going on? Everyone's tried shifting and found that they couldn't, for whatever reason... and then of course no one could miss the strange things goin' on up in the sky." She tilted back her head, examining the dark, icky-colored clouds completely covering the sky. She looked back down to address the crowd. "I have some theories on what going on with both those... but as I don't seem to have as much intel as some I wanted to get all of your opinion's on it, whatever you want to say you're allowed to say it. Then I can get to some other issues, once that's out of the way."

She paused for a few minutes, letting people to gather their thoughts when she left the floor open, before offering her own explanation. "My theory is our lack of shifting is somehow because of the smog... but the smog wasn't nearly as bad last summer, and we could still shift then. And, from what I've been able to gather, this "no shifting" thing is only happening here, in Wlf's Tear only. Something happened, to both our shifting and the smog... something bad. And we need to figure out who, and why. And a way to stop it. The floor's open; speak your mind on it and everything you know on it, we'll figure out some sort of plan, and I've got a few more points I need to address." She fell silent, waiting for the first to speak.

Reya waited patiently as each wolf filed in, one by one as time passed. During the short silence before Amora spoke, Reya examined each wolf carefully. The majority was either her age or older, with the exception of one older pup. One smelled like Hellion Faction and naturally, she felt suspicious, but seeing as none of the others made it an issue, she decided against it as well, although she remained alert anyways. One other caught her eye -- Snow. Although they've never met, she recalled the fact that her mother may have known her; a sense of familiarity radiated from her, and assuming from her age, it could be possible. She decided not to bring it up though, since right now, she deemed it unimportant. Seeing Nerezza, she nuzzled lovingly in return.

It wasn't long until the appearances slowed and eventually Amora spoke up to begin the meeting. She wasn't exactly sure what it'd be about, but she could only assume it had something to do weird the weird inability to shift back into human form -- she was right. As she listened to her alpha's theories, she organized her thoughts in her mind slightly in order to keep up. Her thoughts of the non-shifting problem were basically the same, so she didn't have much to say. "I agree.. I've been here for a while and it's never gotten this bad. I've been living in the city and the pollution is definitely noticeable. The sun doesn't shine as bright as it did 'cause of the clouds, and there's trash everywhere," she said, adding in her thoughts to the 'discussion'. She then fell silent as well, allowing anyone else the chance to speak up.

Donovan had remained stone-quiet as other members begun to encircle the clearing, all turning their attention towards Amora. He felt terribly uncomfortable, which served only to make him bitter and grumpy feeling. He held his tongue as the influx of arriving lupines tricked out, Scout coming near the end of the group. His chest squeezed tightly, his mood giving a small jump as he saw her. She seemed rushed, and he could only assume it was because she was running late coming to join the assembly. Nudging her reassuringly, he couldn't help but feel suddenly empty again. Harnessing a now-restrained sigh, his dark gaze lingered on the petite wolf beside him before Amora's voice cut through his thoughts. There would be no time to talk to Scout about where she had been. Ever since they'd come into the pack lands together, she'd been scarce. He didn't know if what had happened that day with the humans had caused it.. but something hadn't been entirely right. He could feel it.

The thought tore though him painfully, as he blinked rapidly, trying to keep his mind clear. It was no use, it wasn't as if he was paying attention to any of them anyway. It wasn't his fault that he didn't automatically feel undying compassion for them simply because they all shared a home. In fact, he'd like it better if it was just him Scout and Amora. Maybe.. even just himself right now. His dark gaze flicked towards the female who was talking now, they were addressing the pollution problem. A low grunt of disapproval left him, but he spoke nothing as he slid to his haunches now, simply playing the part of an uninterested observer.
