For many ages I've been posting about the need for new to the game players to be part of the active player membership formula. Currently the Betas have low numbers just as soon as a live age starts. It gets down to 2-3 online for beta. While the live age average is 16 online. When I started v21 it was common to see 50 online.
Thats approx 7 active players less per age. So my forum focus has been on ways to keep players we have and to use the game itself to incentivize newbs play out a whole age as well as getting vets to play out the betas.
Betas should be shorter in length , simply because if only 10 players are active by the end of it . Then the betas are not representing their intent. Lasting 3 months with only 3-4 players attacking for kills is not representative of a live age.
I'm not going to make flavor suggestions here. I already have and get generic answers like onlads will play, it's a different game than live age , no time to code.
So my only suggestion is that betas have lower requiremnets to start the clocks only so that people will play them to the end.
After Age tweak.
Some players play on into the after age in vain. it is what it is. It is not representive of WoE and is not a place for newbs to learn how to play in a live age .
This could be tweaked to have newbs play for After Age GO time instead of just supporting others once every three months. Which in my opinion is the achilles weakness for Newb to Vet ratio during a live age GO contest.
Tweak 1 AFTER AGE END
Allow individual player clocks to run up to 24 or 48 hours.
This would allow any newb that played the whole age to play out what it means to take an account to the Go level. At which point th after age could represent live age play in how to take the clock and have Go Battles.
Tweak 2 CAPPS
Put in place building capps after the age ends. Those capps limit run away lvls so that the after age is still similiar to what a live age is.
iPOP cap at 1,200 Important , because it's the way to hurt an after age account. By killing regs below 1100 the after age fun is knocking someones ***stars*** off and is the same as the live age game mechanism.
Capp Defences at Cit3
Capp Spying at 25
Capp Siege at 20
Capp Market at lvl 15
Capp Productions at lvl 25
In this way the Betas Draw more newbs. They Don't even have to be called Betas.
After Ages are similar to live ages and are basically a version of Extended Play.
So the amount of coding time I'm requesting is ZERO.
All I'm trying to accomplish with these requests is balance the number of vets that leave the game with a number of newbs that become vets in shorter amount of time. Although this only keeps a small number of players ,it also a small request
