I know that many of you are interested to find out what is happening with the Alpha. Well, here are how things stand at the moment.
1. I have recoded recruiting so that it is daily. That means, you build a building, you get your new recruits for that building on your day change.
2. I have left troop recovery to be every 4 hours.
3. I am working on recoding battles. The idea for troops is as follows:
a - 6 different types of units, and there is no progression in levels (i.e. Light, Medium, Heavy)
b - Each unit now has offence, defence, and health scores. So for instance, a Longbowman unit is primarily a defensive unit with weak health, so it has a score of 15/30/20. A Knight unit is primarily an offensive unit that defends poorly but is very strong, so it has a score of 35/5/30.
c - Each unit has advantages against other units. So for instance, if your Knight unit decides to attack a player who has Spearmen, then the Knight will suffer penalties, because spears are one of the best weapons against cavalry. However, if archers attack the Spearmen, they will get a bonus because the Spearmen have no shields.
I believe that the new method of fighting is going to be a great new fun way to play, and I hope to have it completed relatively soon (don't ask what that means in actual days or hours).
Is this update mean its been restarted to be tested again, or these are the changes you are making, and when done you will restart?

Are you telling me that an Armoured Knight has virtually no defence?
maybe they are just wearing hauberks and not chain mail or plate !
I am coding things now, and will do a complete restart when I'm done.
And yes, knights had no defence. They did a big huge charge, but they weren't defensive forces. They were designed for attacking, not for taking the brunt of someone else's attack.
yeah I guess I'm thinking more of the plated "king arthurian" knight, not the mounted one
