A long time ago, all of humanity lived in peace and harmony. No wars existed, no famine, no plagues, no greed, no corruption, everyone was happy. One day, things started to go wrong, terribly wrong. Ka'karikyyl, humanity's God, created five humans to prevent bad things from happening. Each was equipped with an orb, named after the God, a Ka'kari orb. Each orb contained its own powers of either Metal, Earth, Nature, Fire, or Water. When the holder squeezed the orb, it would melt and cover their skin in a swirling liquid, like a second skin, over their clothing and other features. The bearer of the metal orb would turn as hard and tough as steel, the liquid would pool at the bearer’s arms, forming swords instead of arms. The bearer of the earth orb would turn as hard and sturdy as stone, with the power to lift the very ground beneath their feet. The bearer of the nature orb would turn beautiful/handsome, with the power to charm any opponent or enemy and to control nature itself. The bearer of the fire orb would become a human inferno, flames leaping from the liquid, as well as gain the power of fire manipulation. The bearer of the water orb would become a gelatinous body, passed through by everything except magic, with the power to collapse their own body and suck the very liquid from a man’s blood. For a while, they kept everything under control, but one wanted more power than had been given to him. He killed one of the bearers, stealing his orb. The three remaining bearers fear for their lives, and leave the land. The double bearer, however, stayed and wreaked havoc among the citizens of the land. Years passed, the double bearer retreated into a fortress of his making, watching over the land, watching for any opportunity to cause some trouble. Citizens have stopped believing in the other three bearers, and are now under the impression that all of them are evil. The double bearer’s power grew, and it was not long before it needed to be stopped. Ka’karikyyl summoned the remaining three bearers, tasking them with the mission of destroying the double bearer, then destroying his orbs.
Setting: A small town called Duslox, in the land of Lokeli the three bearers are to meet here.

(Yue shall go first, then! 8D) "Hmm... This is a good vantage point. Yes, this'll do just fine - I should be able to spot the others from here..." A rather strange figure crouched atop the roof of a mansion, apparently belonging to one of the wealthier members of Duslox. He was strange for quite a few number of reasons, the least of which was the fact that he resembled a bipedal rabbit. Yes, a rabbit. His body was humanoid, by all purposes, but his head... it was the head of a rabbit. A white-faced, brown-furred, brown-eyed rabbit. His skin, too, was coated in soft brown rabbit fur, and his feet were just like a rabbit's feet, large and strong (and completely bare of shoes, since no shoes could really fit them). And it was not just his physical appearances - his clothes were also rather... spectacular. A green hat was positioned on his head, a red ribbon and golden bells bound around it, with his long ears squashed underneath. A scarlet cloak hung around his shoulders, with a black jacket with small medallions sewn to the hem worn underneath, along with a brown sam, a white vest and plum-purple pantaloons, the sort you would expect to see in some sort of desert country. A dark blue gauzy sash embroidered in gold was wrapped around his waist, and several various medallions and charms were worn around his neck. White gloves were slipped over his hand, a gold anklet was worn over the right ankle, and a red ribbon around the left. And, resting in the crook of his arm, was a long, slender black cane, topped by a gilded closed lotus bud. "Mmmm..." Charlemagne murmured to himself, his voice bearing a heavy French accent, leaning out slightly further from his post on the mansion's roof. "We agreed to meet here in Duslox... I 'ope the others get here soon. Sitting still certainly is a boring way to pass the time..." Several people milling about in the streets below spotted Charlemagne, looking up at him and staring bewilderedly, and noticing them, Charlemagne grinned, tipping his hat to each of the bystanders in turn. " Salut, people of Duslox!" he called out, a beaming grin on his face. As well as being somewhat eccentric, Charlemagne had never been known for his subtlety. Everything to him was a show, everything required a hint of drama and the fantastic... though considering the fact that the bearers were meant to be meeting secretly, this probably wasn't one of the best of times for that. ( Charlemagne)

"Somewhere, there was a tiny dream. Such a tiny dream it was, No one knew who had dreamt it. This tiny dream began to think. 'I don't want to disappear this way. How can I make people dream of me?' The tiny dream thought and thought, and came up with an idea. 'I'll make humans get lost in me, and let them create the world.'

Ferius wiped the sweat from his brow, his lightly tanned skin blackened from the blacksmith work. He wore a dark blue bandana on his head, his blonde hair just barely poking out of the end of the bandana. He was a clean shaven, tall man, with deep brown eyes and a slightly crooked nose from being broken.
Around his neck was a necklace full of beads and in the middle of it was his fire ka'kari, hiding in plain sight. If people asked what it was, he would tell them it was just a jewel that he had come across, but he would never tell them it was a ka'kari. His unshirted chest was muscular, his arms equally as muscular, it came with the job. He wore peasant grade black pants, boots, and gloves, and at first glance he looked much like a pirate.
He didn't much believe in protective clothing, armor, or shields, they merely hindered movement and got in the way. His greatest defense was his speed and agility, easily darting around foes and getting quick jabs in with his silver shortsword. The hilt itself was a work of art, a golden hilt embroidered with various jewels, and a detailed skull carved into the area where the hilt met the blade, but the hilt didn't stop where the blade began, it ran up, jsut over half the length of the blade itself which was very plain, but still effective. The sword rested in its black sheath on his right, while a dagger of similar design rested in its own black sheath on his left. He didn't sue the dagger too much, but it was a good weapon for stealth.
Ferius had made them both himself, taking about a month and a half through other orders and slow days. He doused the blacksmith fire and move the 'Closed' sign to the front of the shop, trying to wipe away most of the black with an equally dirty rag, but only managed to move it around his body., at least now it was even. He knew Charlemagne would be waiting for him somewhere, and it would be pretty obvious too, that man always had to put on a show. He wandered through the streets to upper Duslox where he suspected the rabbitman to be.

A quick two-stepped jog sprang over the town path. Xanderel’s hand clutched his Ka’kari orb tightly. If ever a man had obsessed over an inanimate object to a jaw-dropping degree, then it was this man. His long hands, gloved in dark leather, clasped the orb tightly to his chest. He could never decide where to keep the orb. Into his shoulder-slung backpack it went, out it went. Clipped to the golden bangle on his wrist, off again. For the time being it was padlocked securely to the strong circlet around his neck. He also hid twin daggers, sheathed in leather, in the folds of his cloak.
Amber-coloured hair which shone with all the hues of autumn and the rays of a sunset, was swathed neatly under his brown suede cap. His angular-featured face, tanned golden brown, was nothing to him, a mask – for what were his looks when the orb in his hands could make him so much more handsome! Nothing on Ferius or Charlemagne, of course. The blacksmith and rabbit-man were no more conspicuous than Xand, the pagan monk. His sharp yellow eyes watched everything in his surroundings to a miniscule degree. Xanderel was a surveyor of nature as much as an elemental manipulator. He examined it with pride curving his narrow lips. For the time being, though, Ka’karikyyl had summoned him, Charlemagne and Ferius to Duslox, to determine what would be done about the traitor orb-bearer.
Xand adjusted the collar of his tawny, knee-length tunic with wary fingers, ignoring the suspicious stares of the townspeople he passed by. He was about to ask the general passers-by something like, “Has a man with the head of a rabbit passed by?” but the dynamic French accent of the Earth-orb-bearer was as conspicuous to Xand’s ears as the man’s appearance. They weren’t supposed to draw attention to themselves, truly… Xand tugged at the orb hanging from his neck. Maybe he should buy himself a pair of larger boots so he could press it into the tip of one… never mind. He really hoped Charlemagne wasn’t making a scene. With a shrug, he lifted his Ka’kari to eye-level as best he could (his neck-chain was restricting around his throat) and examined it quickly to ensure it was still intact.
Xand knew it would be easier to find Charlemagne than Ferius. It had taken the monk a while to become accustomed to the man’s appearance… heck, he wondered what Ka’karikyyl had been thinking when the god had created the earth-Ka’kari bearer. Xand shrugged again and spied the rabbit-man’s bright garb, high on a mansion roof. He fondled the chain around his neck.
“Psst. Charlemagne," he hissed, really loudly. "Keep it down, will ya?”

A year ago, Rius had never even heard of these orbs. When he did though, he was consumed by trying to find them. He searched for almost six months to find his first one. The metal. The orb itself was silvery and inside the orb swirled. It looked like the orb contained mercury. When Rius DuPont found it the metal bonded with his muscled frame. He was covered in the silvery liquid. One could see the power hungry gluttony in his eyes.
He yearned for the others. He wanted all of them. He would start with the weakest barer. Water. It was held by a woman. Easy enough to charm his way into stealing it. Though, it was harder than he anticipated, he managed it. The only casualty was the woman because she would not give it up.
After bedding her, and being nice, that time passed. He needed the orb. He tried to take it. Once she did not comply, he took her more forcefully. He raped her and then stabbed his silvery knife arm through her heart. Rius chuckled as he watched the life leave her eyes. The Ka'karis orb was his. He took it, now having two.
The power he held was immeasurable. He loved it. He felt so wonderful. Rius combed back his dark hair away from his face and adjusted the black clothing he wore. Now, off to get the others. He wanted them all. Even though he knew that they would all be after him... he could hardly sit around and wait. He was power hungry.

Charlemagne's sharp ears easily caught Xand's loud hiss, and he leaned forward eagerly, if somewhat dangerously. Black staff in hand, he waved it at Xand cheerfully, before rising to his feet.
"Ah, there you are, mon ami," Charlemagne declared cheerfully, tipping his hat politely to the pagan monk. "Just wait a moment - I'll be right down..."
With that, Charlemagne crouched down - and sprung right off the roof. There were several gasps of horror and shock from the people watching below, and as they watched the rabbit man fall down through the air, they thought for sure he'd be splattered all over the ground upon impact. Yet, to their amazement, Charlemagne sailed right down into the mansion's front garden, landing with a loud thud, then leapt right back up again, flying right over the wall surrounding the mansion and landing beside Xand. Straightening up and dusting off his cloak, Charlemagne tipped his hat to Xand again.
"Any sign of Ferius?" he asked.

Ferius stepped out of the shadow of the wall behind Charlemagne, "Right here, Charlie." He loved to hide in the shadows all the time and do things like that, he seemed to have a natural talent for it, and he didn't even know why. He regarded Xand with a nod, the spoke, "Alright, we're all here, now we just need to find and destroy Rius. The bastard killed Cheryl, and now he's going to kill us, unless we kill him first." He was practically saying what everyone already knew, but in case they didn't, he was telling them now.

Charlemagne registered little surprise as Ferius stepped out of the wall's shadow. Instead, he turned cheerily to the blacksmith, tipping his hat to him, causing the bells sewn to it to jingle merrily.
"Ah, there you are, Ferius!" he declared happily, grinning. Well, grinning as well as a rabbit's face can manage. It wasn't an ugly sight, though.
Pleasantries over and done with, Charlemagne's grin fell away, leaving his expression solemn, a look that was rare on the usually upbeat rabbit man's face.
"Cheryl..." he murmured softly, and for a moment, the look in his eyes was contemplative. Then, he snapped back to reality, and nodded. "Yes, you're right. Well, we know where he'll most likely be - that fortress of his."
He grimaced, as if bringing up the subject of that treacherous building brought a bad taste in his mouth.

“Ferius? Not here yet, it see---AGH.” Xanderel hated it when Ferius did that – appeared out of the shadows as if he’d been there the whole time. It was a paltry trait that could sure come in handy. And so it seemed Ferius, too, found Charlemagne with little difficulty. OK, let’s get right on it, Xand thought. OK, find and destroy Rius---WAIT? Where was the subtlety? Sure that plan was simple, but… Where was their guidance from Ka’karikyyl? Xand scrabbled at the circlet around his chest, gripping his earth orb.
“Yes, we know where Rius is,” Xand said. “And we know he’s a power-thirsty maniac who might kill all of us to complete his collection.” He didn’t want to die; the fear nearly matched his potential for sweet revenge. Old memories rose to the surface of his mind. Sweet Cheryl, bearer of the water Ka’kari, was dead, gone. The five had been reduced to four, then realization had struck them as the numbers lowered immediately to three. Rius, the traitor.
“It’s just the three of us now.” Sure, three’s a crowd. But not when there were initially five in the group. Xand did miss her – hey, he’d miss any one of them if they were brutally murdered by one of their own.

"Indeed, there's only three of us now," Charlemagne said, nodding. "However, it's also three of us again one - Rius. Sure, Rius has two of the orbs, but he's still outnumbered by the three of us, and we'll be working together as a team."
He shrugged. "However, with Rius being in that fortress, there'll be guards, soldiers, you name it, crawling all over the place. Breaching the place isn't going to be easy, even with our powers. So for now, I think a good idea would be to scout the place first, and then work on a plan."
Charlemagne sighed, scratching under his hat. This was all going to be such a... messy affair. But it had to be done. They owed Cheryl that much. Not to mention they owed the country that much. All of the bearers had meant to be the protectors of the land... Now one of them had been ruling over it in a dictatorship for several years, and during those years, the remaining bearers had fled and hidden themselves, fearing for their own lives, rather than protecting the land from Rius as they should have.

Oh. Well, that was nice. At the gates, tomorrow morning. Xanderel was the nomadic type, so it shouldn’t have bothered him much – it was just another night of restless sleep, expecting Rius to be looming over him pressing a knife to Xand’s neck. Xand resigned himself to a sleepless night. His nights were usually mostly sleepless, anyway – he couldn’t bear to close his eyes for more than a few minutes without resting them upon his Ka’kari.
He watched Ferius walk away. Just me and Charlemagne now. He eyed the rabbit-man speculatively. He was really quite fond of him, to be honest. His candidness was trustworthy, his sense of cheer a source of radiance at the best (and worst) of times. Xand pressed his hand to his orb, reminding himself not to judge people, least of all his fellow orb-bearers.
“But I’m completely ready now,” he whined to the air where Ferius had been standing. Wrapping his fingers around this neck-chain, he sighed and tipped off his suede hat with his free hand. “Well, see you, Charlemagne. Tomorrow begins our journey in search of justice.” He walked off in a haphazard direction, and his thoughts revolved back to Cheryl. Tomorrow begins our search for revenge.

Charlemagne sighed. He supposed Ferius had a point. Best to make sure they were all prepared, then go off only to realise they weren't. Still, though, as Xand also said, he felt ready now. He didn't want to wait around for another day of doing nothing and being paranoid that Rius might be about.
"Au revoir," Charlemagne called after Ferius, waving his hat and setting the bells a-jingling until the blacksmith had gone.
"Oui... Maintenant, it's just us," Charlemagne said, nodding. "I'll see you and Ferius tomorrow at the gates."
He waved his hat again at Xand, until the pagan monk, too, had gone, and Charlemagne was left all by himself.
Well... now what was he to do? He supposed he should find an inn to stay in for the night, and get some food to eat, but... all of a sudden, Charlemagne felt quite conspicuous (which he was), and vulnerable. He needed to get off the ground, away from all these people. He needed to blow off some steam.
Sighing, Charlemagne glanced wistfully at the city clock tower. Hm... What was Rius doing now? Was he in his fortress, or he had deigned to visit the town? It would certainly seem as if fate was against them if any of them happened to bump into Rius that day... but like that could happen, right?
