Rules 1. First, and foremost, have fun! This is a place to let your imagination run wild, to let go of any inhibitions reality might have a hold on you and enter a world all your own. It's meant to be an escape from the mundane, so if you're here merely to argue or, god forbid, cyber for your own strange pleasure, then don't. That's just weird. And slightly wrong. 2. Second of all, this is a more or less advanced roleplay. I don't enjoy one-liners... they're kind of like one night stands. No one profits. Use detail... explain where your character is, what they're thinking, what they look like... strive for at least two decent paragraphs. Though, I do admit, I know there are days when you just can't get that many words out, and on those days... ehh, what can you do? But if you make it a habit of posting short, I might let you know. Kindly, of course. 3. This is a semi-realistic roleplay. Although we're veering slightly from reality, there are no werewolves, vampires, unicorns, or magic. There just aren't. However, if you can justify it with a good history, there can, perhaps, be mutants... being in such a strange new world can lead people to do strange things, so maybe there might be a few strange people out there. I won't condone a massive mutant overhaul, though... no one likes the one roleplayer who is strong and perfect in any way... this being said... 4. NO MARY SUES AND GARY STUES!!!! This is perhaps the most important rule. No one is perfect and beautiful and strong. EVERYONE, I repeat, everyone has faults. But no one is so faulted that they can't function. Please don't make your character so tragic that they were abused as a child and were so upset they killed their brother and then lived on the street and was raped and then almost killed and lost their kitty and starved half to death... anyways, you get the idea. Just don't do it. Not cool. 5. I know that character applications are a pain. They are tedious and somewhat boring and blah blah blah blah. However, yes, I would like you to do one. Characters should be fairly well developed, or at least on their way to being so. If you need to see an example of how an application should look, see mine. It's pretty self-explanatory. If you have more questions, look at the Application Template. It has details on the bare minimum of how your application should look. Also, you may look at my application. It is above and beyond what I expect, but it's a good reference. I just tend to go insane with applications. 6. The word of the admins and moderators is law. If you feel like you are being undermined or abused by one, let me know. Although having help by said admins and moderators is key, I won't stand for them misbehaving. That's not cool, either. 7. When I say hooray, you say beer. |
