With a day off work and a small window in the weather forecast decided on a few hours at Layde bay. Was expecting lots of driftwood/weed floating about considering all the floodwater coming down the local rivers but there was very little and with light winds conditions were pretty good.

Fished 3hrs up and 2 back down with frozen peeler, frozen lug, bluey and squid in the bait bucket. Started well with a lovely codling of 3.5lbs on peeler crab second cast (returned to fight another day) so hopes were high for a good day but that was it until just after high tide when a doggie took a liking to a whole squid. Apart from a couple of missed bites which looked distinctly doggy like that was it for the day.

Not the best session i've ever had but it was much better than being at work!
