Title: Raise Your Glass!
Description: (Open! Who is allowed of course)
EbonyDusk - March 15, 2012 07:38 PM (GMT)
It hadn't been easy getting things ready for this. But Ebylin was determined to get it done. Her fellow riders and others deserved a little time to have some fun for once after everything they had been through in recent times. Plus it would be a way to get to know each other a little better. At least that's how Harnteth sold her on it. With some help from a fellow Wingmate, one that seemed to have a great knowledge of wine, she managed to convince some cooks to let them use the dining hall for a small get together. Paying them a few extra marks she also got them to cook a few things too, all set up on the surrounding tables that were moved a bit to make room for everyone that might show up. O'rin brought as much wine as he could and set it up while Ebylin snickered at how he babbled on about the vintages and such.
Once it was all set up she was a bit frantic as to how to get everyone to come. Course the grayrider didn't hesitate to remind her she had four flits...One couldn't do much since she was still a baby, but Rayne, Hsif, and Akumi were more than ready and once given a hide each they took off. The notes stating that there was to be a get together with drink and food for all riders and others that could make it, spread the word. O'rin had disappeared at some point once the flits were gone, something about getting better dressed. So he would be back later. Ebylin rolled her eyes. He was so fussy about his looks. She could swear he was a woman.
Outside Harnteth was waiting for anyone who arrived. Kind of wishing that the sweet gray could have stayed with her. I'm happy that you're doing this Ebby. You're being more like your old self again. I like it. Do you think Pyvath and his will come? At the mention of the blue and his rider Ebylin felt her cheeks flush and she shook her head to clear it. Maybe dear heart. We'll see. Right now lets just focus on letting everyone have a good time ok? Harnteth rumbled in agreement sending Ebylin soothing thoughts to calm her down. She was acting all jittery.
The moment the first person arrived the green let out a happy bugle and greeted them rather enthusiastically. Welcome! Ebylin smacked her forehead with her palm. We're trying to make them comfortable Harnteth. Not scare them off. That earned her a mental snort from the green who didn't see anything wrong with her excited greeting.
((Opening is bleh XD But here it is! Its a little get together for all the riders mostly but others are more than welcome! Ebylin wants to try and cheer her fellow riders up a bit and give them a chance to relax for a while. So go nuts and have fun. ^^))

Iscia - Tag Anyone
Iscia had heard party. And when Iscia hears party, she was never one to miss out on the entertainment these parties provided for her. It was always the best way for to get to know those who could either be a beneficial companion or her enemy. That and it was always good to have blackmail on somebody or another.
See you, Hinleryth. Behave while I'm gone. The grey sleepily opened an eye, When do I not? and then settled back down for her nap.
Of course, Iscia selected only the best clothing, a nice blue dress that dipped low on the neckline and had her hair straightened to its fullest length. A silver chained necklace with an amethyst in the middle (she never answered were she got it when people asked) was around her neck to complete the picture of a perfect lady out for the evening.
And it looked as if most had yet to arrive. Ah well. Might as well indulge herself for a little bit before the guests came. The voice of the green that had hung around startled her, earning Harnteth a nasty glare. "Do you need to scare people like that? Jays, at this rate no one will be coming with you around to bug them!"
The greyrider set herself at a table to the far right, not without a glass of wine of course, and waited. Maybe that O'zen fellow would be here tonight, or that brownrider she had met here before. O'zen would most definitely have loved to see what she had on tonight. Then again, most probably would anyway.
Senyrae - Tag Anyone
A party! Like the one I dance at, right? Can't I come Senyrae, I wanna come! Of course Bresaith would have caught wind of that. Nothing was able to escape the nosy gold's hearing when something fun became involved. And this was her idea of fun. I promise I'll be good! I wanna go meet the other people.
Sorry Bre, but you won't be able to fit into the Dining Hall if you tried. You're too big, remember? Senyrae giggled at the despondent look her queen gave her when she realized it was true. She was reaching the limit to her growth span, and would soon be the full sized queen she was made out to be. Hands reached out to her, cradling the golden head in her palms. Don't worry. I promise we'll do something fun tomorrow, okay? We'll go swimming like you always wanted to. That cheered Bresaith up. Alright.
The weyrling had been thankful that she and her classmates were now old enough to and have some time to enjoy to themselves without the stress of classes and whatnot. Chatter and music could be heard near the Lower Caverns, making the girl more anxious to get inside.
But not without avoiding that greyrider first. Senyrae had seen her around before, and she did not look like a fellow to incorporate herself with. Poor green had to get most of her attitude.
She waited whilst the woman walked away before saying to the green, "Don't worry about her. She's just a grumpy old dimglow." Waving bye, she headed inside for a drink.
Cl'sen - Tag Ebylin and Anyone
Cl'sen was a little bit more excited for this event than the previous one he had, if that pie merchant had anything to do with it. That and he hadn't indulged himself in some good wine since he had Rhoth to worry about. But they had reached that point where he would join the riders that were coming tonight too, so it might be best to have one last good time before Graduation came about.
"I wonder who's going to be there tonight," he murmured unintelligibly. "What do you think Rhoth?" Uhhh... maybe Halieth's? Oh oh, what about that mean-nice lady? She works there, right? "She'll probably be working," he mused, checking one last time to see if his clothes were on backwards or not.
"Welp, I'm off!" Cl'sen waved goodbye to the blue before confronting the long staircase down to the weyrbowl.
Now that he thought about it, it might be good to get to know some of the riders that would be there. I mean, he would be fighting with them soon, right? He just hoped some wouldn't be a bossybritches like some wingleaders and wingseconds were made out to be. Preferably he would like to be with that one bronzerider with the copperrider girl in his wing. They seemed pretty nice.
No better time like the present, then. Cl'sen spotted the lady with the wine and settled over. "H-Hi," he said, "Ummm... could I possibly have a glass of that, please?"
(Might toss X'hic later, but just gonna have these guys for now.)

@Ebylin, Cl'sen, Iscia
"Always nice to run into another Bitran this far from home."
Morana raised her eyebrows and gave a forced smile at the man walking next to her. O'zen, he said his name was. She had been making her way towards the dining hall when he'd joined her and introduced himself. He was going in the same direction, so he'd apparently decided to accompany and chat the whole way, asking her if she was a transfer and where she was from and things like that. She had responded rather shortly to all his questions. It wasn't that his presence was repulsive - he just had sort of a predatory air about him that made her uncomfortable.
"Quite. A real coincidence," she replied flatly, privately glad that dining halls were near and she would soon be able to get away. She'd heard there was going to be a small gather and figured it would be a good chance to get to know the people she'd be fighting Thread with. O'zen was apparently going to the same event.
The two stepped into the hall. Morana, first catching sight of Iscia seated in her luxurious dress, stopped short. "I hadn't realized this was a formal event," she said, her cheeks flushing lightly. Morana was dressed in a plain cream tunic with brown pants and her dusty riding boots; her black hair, she had pulled back in a loose bun. Compared to the greyrider, she looked like a mess.
Oh well. Shards, she hadn't come here to impress, just to do a little socializing. Catching sight of the wine, she left O'zen and crossed over to Ebylin, sending the greenrider and the young bluerider next to her a hesitant smile. "Ah, hello."
O'zen, though he found Morana to be fairly attractive, didn't mind when she fled. He, too, had spotted Iscia upon arrival and she effectively trapped his attention. The care she had put into her appearance had paid off. Smiling, he made his way over and pulled up a chair next to her.
"Evening, Iscia. You look beautiful tonight." O'zen gave his customary smirk.

R'nault : Tag Senyrae/Anyone
R'nault took a deep breath at the dinning hall entrance letting it out with a whoosh, "I do not know why you are nervous. It is a party for riders and you are a my rider." I know Kre, I know. He grumbled the answer before stepping into the hall. He might be a rider, but he didn't always feel like one. Krejuth had insisted he attend. R'nault had tried the excuse of it was only for the older riders, but the Bronze had been quick to inform him that the other Weyrlings were also going. He'd had little choice, but to give into his Dragon's orders.
There weren't too many riders yet, though more were quickly filter in. Seemed few were going to pass up the chance to enjoy themselves with food and drink. After a glance around the room, R'nault headed for the tables containing food and drink. After his last experience with wine he was wasn't about to try it again on an empty stomach. He had no wish to repeat his last experience with the stuff. Since then he had of course impressed Krejuth which meant wine was off limits. Even though that wasn't the case anymore he still didn't want to overdue and suffer the consequences. He spotted Senyrae, a relieved expression crossing his face. Finally a familiar face. "Hello Senyrae. He greeted the Goldrider.
Aliena : Tag Anyone
Aliena wasn't much of a party person, but she wasn't about to pass up the wine that was sure to be there. "You promise you will be nice and not drink too much? The Blue rider snorted, "I don't make promises I can't keep. "If you embarrass yourself then it is your own fault. The blue informed his rider. Aliena rolled her eyes and continued on toward the hall. Other riders could be seen entering and as she drew closer the sounds of laughter and conversation were easily heard. Not many riders would pass up the opportunity to enjoy themselves, and why should they. With Thread returned one never knew which party might be the last one you ever went to. Might as well have some fun while she still could.
The Bluerider headed straight for the table with the wine. Selecting a skin she poured herself a glass and found an empty table. She took a sip, not bad, though honestly she wasn't all that picky about what she drank. After a couple of glasses as long as it was alcohol she'd drink it. After another swallow she took the opportunity to take a look around at the other guests. She spotted one woman dressed up with the obvious intentions of attracting the attentions of her fellow male riders. Seemed to be working too since O'zen appeared to already be offering his complements. Aliena had heard plenty about that bronzerider, bedding any woman willing to have him if her sources were true. She'd even heard tell that he had enjoyed the company of a candidate. She took another sip of wine scaning the rest of the room, though no one else currently caught her eye.

Ebylin - Tag: Cl'sen & Morana/Anyone
Ebylin was relieved when the people started trickling in. Here she thought most would just ignore the invitation. After all she wasn't that well known yet though O'rin had reassured her before that it would be fine. That grayrider seemed pretty confident with most things. She was standing near all the wine while everyone came and was just standing back and watching until she heard a voice speak to her. Turning to look at the speaker she chuckled and smiled at the boy. She knew this one, it was one of the weyrlings from a nearly graduating class. "Hey there. Sure sure, go right ahead."
She stood aside to let him take his pick of the many glasses and bottles of wine on the tables. Having only been standing there just in case. "You're...one of the bluerider weyrlings aren't you? I can't quite remember your name..." Ebylin always tried her best to remember the names of all the weyrlings. Being a Weyrlingmaster Assistant meant she had to at least know those she would at times be teaching and keeping an eye on.
When another rider approached and greeted them she turned to the woman and tilted her head with a small smirk. "Hello there. You're...new around here aren't you?" She held out her hand to the woman. "I'm Ebylin, rider of Green Harnteth. The silly green outside greeting everyone is her." She said with a small laugh. It felt good to just relax around others again. Instead of constantly looking over her shoulder expecting someone to stab her in the back.

Iscia - Tag O'zen/Anyone
A finger swirled across the rim of the glass, eyeing those that had begun to arrive. She snorted when she saw the queen weyrling show up being all nice and whatnot. Silly thing was more of a pain then she would be a leader, that was for sure.
Iscia soon found who she was looking for, ready to send a sultry grin the bronzerider's way but stopping dead when she saw the other woman with him. Was she his date? A lover, maybe? He didn't look the type to have a steadfast relationship, so it did make her a little uneasy when getting under her skin. Iscia hated competition. And that was that.
But then the girl started to walk away, leaving O'zen to come meet her. Hrm, well wasn't that something? The famous grin she had came across her cheeks as he settled down next to her. "Evening, O'zen."
Flattered with his comment, she continued, "Well, thank you! I'm never one to miss out on a party, and believe me, I dress to impress." Iscia took a sip from her glass, enjoying the taste and smell of the alcohol in it. "You're not looking half-bad yourself."
The greyrider's gaze wandered over to the other woman chatting with the greenrider who started all this and some blue weyrling kid she didn't know. "So, who's the lady friend you have over there?"
Senyrae - Tag R'nault/Anyone
One of the few indulgences Senyrae liked to consider for herself was wine. She wasn't that heavy a drinker to begin with, but that didn't mean she never had any in her life. Mostly for big, special occasions was all, 'cept for that one time Olayla brought some stuff into the Candidate Barracks. Funny thing was that Senyrae couldn't remember much from that party to begin with.
Well for once she was going to have some fun. And if she got drunk and passed out by the end of it all, so be it. She could have some fun, right?
Though, she definitely recalled the taste of the stuff. And the alcohol. Oh yes, she wouldn't be able to forget that. Even now her face scrunched up a little as she felt the bitter warmth slide down her throat and causing the prevalent burn all these drinks had in them.
Then again, it was quite nice. Different, supposedly. The goldrider took another sip before realizing R'nault had taken a seat next to her. "R'nault!" she said, eyes and mouth smiling a little tipsily. "How have you been? I haven't seen you since the Gather, and that was months ago! Besides lessons anyway." She was babbling. Babbling was never good, but she was beyond caring.
"Have a drink! I'm sure the others will show up sooner or later." She grabbed a nearby wineglass and passed it over to him. "It's the good stuff, too, so don't waste it."
Cl'sen - Tag Ebylin and Morana/Anyone
The weyrling smiled at Ebylin, glad that no one was going to give him attitude or send him away for wanting a drink. "Thanks." He grabbed the wineskin and poured his own drink, not really sure of the brand or taste. He never had much privilege to have alcohol back at Hold, mostly for important meetings and such. His parents were a bit more strict about that kind of stuff than other holders were.
Cl'sen gave the greenrider a shy smile. "Y-Yes. My name's Cl'sen, ma'am. My dragon's name is Rhoth. We're graduating next season." The swell of pride he felt at those words gave him a significant confidence boost. "And... you're one of the Weyrlingmasters, right? I think C'ric mentioned your name as Ebylin?" Funny that one of his own teachers would plan something like this.
Another woman joined the chatting pair, making the weyrling stop mid sentence. Oh gosh, this was becoming awkward again. Cl'sen didn't have a strong suit in talking to the opposite sex very well. Usually it ended up with him acting like an idiot.
"U-Uh, hi," he said to the brunette next to him, realizing then that she was a brownrider. Wow, a girl riding a brown? He wondered what her dragon looked like. "I'm Cl'sen... Uh, my dragon's not here, though. He's back home sleeping. O-Oh, and his name's Rhoth. Are y-you new here, maybe?"

Visani tag: O'rin / Anyone
Visani generally wasn't very keen on parties, it's not that she didn't like them. Oh no. Just usually she was too 'busy' or some other excuse that would seem appropriate to get Emanth off her back. But tonight for once she didn't have anything and Emanth refused to be anything but stubborn about her going. You'll have a good time. Let's go now. he was strangely insistent even going so far as to nudge her to his shoulder so that she would climb up quicker. She held on tightly to his straps as he glided down to the weyrbowl then a quick glide down his shoulder and she was straightening her dark shirt and settling Biscuit on her shoulder. The queen purred softly, and Visani was happy to finally have her comforting weight on her shoulder again. Emanth searched about among the other dragons assembled, Visani knew he was looking for a certain grey. Visani wondered if O'rin was inside, though Roseth seemed to be missing from the gathering group of dragons. Her face fell slightly and she admitted that half the reason she wanted to come had been for a chance to see him again. They'd had such a good time together at the beach and now Emanth and Roseth were even more inseparable than before and it was rare for the brown to even be in his weyr during his free time.
The brownrider peeked her head in the doorway, there were a few people there so far many of whom were talking amongst each other and drinking. The tables of food and wine caught her attention and she found herself wandering towards the wine, her eyes growing wide at the sight of so much Benden. Visani was from Benden Hold and had been taught when she was younger to recognize vintages and what sort of smell and taste a good wine is supposed to have. Through the years she'd developed her own taste, while her father had loved a wine that was as dry as could be and tried to impress this upon her, she couldn't help but prefer a wine that was full bodied and slightly sweeter.
She picked up a bottle of red wine and poured herself a small taste just to try it. She gently swirled the glass in her hands and sniffed it before taking a sip and setting the glass down. It was dryer than she would have preferred so she moved on to a white wine that had caught her eye. Biscuit watched carefully as her mistress poured another taste and sniffed it. The queen trilled softly and Visani held the glass up for her to get a taste of the white, the brownrider tried it next but found the taste too light for her liking so she moved on to try another.

Nril: Tag Aliena
The ever informative and convenient pipeline of weyr gossip carried word to N'ril of a party. It was to be a somewhat low-key affair; mainly wine, snacks, and conversation. N'ril thought it would be just the thing to help relieve the stress Threadfighting in the Spring brought him. He couldn't wait for summer; the intense heat was a pain, but it always seemed to help his more painful memories fade.
Unlike some of the other party-goers, N'ril arrived as his usual self - plain, functional clothes, dusty boots, and a scruffy face. He had briefly considered shaving, but that would have required him to go all the way back to his weyr. And besides, he'd shaved yesterday.
The brownrider was pleased to find an already healthy number of people gathered in the dining hall. He smiled and waved to a few individuals as he passed on his way to the wine table. When he was properly equipped with a drink, he scanned the crowd, looking for a likely candidate for some conversation. He spotted a female bluerider who didn't appear to be engaged in conversation yet and crossed over to her.
"Hello. Lovely evening, isn't it? I recognize you, but I can't quite remember your name," he said, taking a sip of wine. "You don't mind refreshing my memory do you?"
While he waited for an answer, N'ril took in her appearance. Like him, she was simply dressed - a trait he approved of right away. She was a some what small, pretty thing with a face that was neither inviting or discouraging. She looked like a matter-of-fact sort of person, which he also liked. And the way she had her hair pulled back was quite fetching...
Well, well, has someone finally gotten his mojo back?
N'ril's expression soured and he sent a pulse of anger at his dragon. Shut up. I can find a person attractive without going there. I just like her as a person. That's all. He took another sip of wine as Nazacth retreated, unperturbed.
The brownrider smiled sheepishly at the bluerider and said, "Sorry, my dragon is a ...jerk."
[[@_@ sorry if this post comes across as odd. I think im off my game a bit]]
Iradial - March 21, 2012 05:42 AM (GMT)
@Ebylin/Cl'sen/Anyone
Morana snapped up a glass and a wine bottle and poured herself a drink, glancing up at the greenrider as she talked. She nodded in confirmation and set down the bottle to shake the woman's hand. Ebylin, she called herself.
"Yes, I'm new," she said, offering a small smile. "I'm Morana of brown Riometh. And I was wondering who that darling green was outside - she was very friendly," Morana remarked. She paused to take a sip from her glass and raised her eyebrows at the taste. "Oh, this is good," she said, peering down at her drink. It was better quality than she'd expected.
She then looked to the young bluerider as he addressed her. Shards, poor kid looked nervous, stuttering all over the place. "Nice to meet you Cl'sen," she said smoothly. "And yes, Riometh and I are new. Riometh's back at our weyr as well, though he might come down later. I didn't realize there would be other dragons hanging around." She shrugged and took another sip of her wine.
@Iscia/Anyone
"I do believe you," O'zen replied, arching an eyebrow. This was just some get-together that Ebylin had thrown together and Iscia looked like she was dressed for a hatching gather. Well, O'zen did like a woman that took pride in her appearance. He, too, made a point to dress well for certain special events, but this could hardly be called one of those, so his dress was casual - all the more reason why Iscia's return compliment was appreciated. "Oh, thank you."
Iscia's next question made O'zen pause. What lady friend? He wasn't in the habit of keeping ladies as friends. Twisting around in his seat to follow Iscia's gaze, O'zen caught sight of Morana. Ah, of course, he'd walked in with her. He'd only just met the woman though.
Settling back in his seat, he sent Iscia a wry smile. "Why? Jealous?" Before she could answer, he shook his head and gave a dismissive wave to show he was jesting. "That's Morana. I wouldn't call her my friend, considering I just met her. She's from Bitra, though," he explained and added, "It's good to see someone from home." Morana hadn't seemed that receptive of him, though. Shame.

R'nault : Tag Senyrae/Anyone
R'nault smiled, he didn't mind the Senyrae's flood of words. He wasn't exactly skilled when it came to conversations so never minded when someone else was willing to take the reins so to speak. He suspected some of her talkativeness was wine induced, not that he would have ever said so. He nodded in agreement as she spoke of how long it had been sicne they last spoke. Moving with Krejuth into a Weyr of there own had meant he saw less of the other Weyrlings, unless they were all gathered for a lesson or happened to meet someplace else. He found he sometimes missed the actively of the barracks. There was always someone there or other Weyrlings coming and going. Though the privacy and freedom of a his own weyr was also quite enjoyable.
He looked down at the glass, surely a little wouldn't be so bad. As long as he was careful there wouldn't be a repetition of his last experience. "Thanks. He answered, filling the glass before sampling the substance within. It tasted nice than the last stuff, not a harsh as he remembered. "Well can't say as I have much of a palette so I'll trust your judgement. He admitted with an embarrassed shrug. "How is Bresaith these days? Is she enjoying having a weyr of her own now?"
Aliena : Tag N'ril
It was a good think Aliena was already nearly finished with her first glass of wine when the Brownrider approached. Wine usually help soften her otherwise sharp demeanor. She eyed the man as he spoken, taking a quick glance around the table to see if someone else had slipped in unnoticed. Nope the man had definitely been speaking to her. "Don't be rude. Quilith warned before Aliena could come up with some belittle comment about the man's memory. "You are no fun you know that!" She snapped back, though the Blue probably had a point. "Aliena. She answered simple before gesturing toward an empty seat. "You're N'ril right? Don't be too surprised, I usually try to keep track of who my wingsecond is. She gave an indifferent shrug.
She watched N'ril from the corner of her eye. He leaned toward the more rugged side of handsome and while not unkept, didn't strike her as the sort to spend much time in front of the mirror primping. Not that she did much of that either. She was here to enjoy some wine and that was it. If N'ril had any other plans he was going to have to look elsewhere.

Ebylin - Tag: Cl'sen/Morana/Anyone
Ebylin chuckled at the boy and tilted her head watching him. "You're welcome." She said in an amused tone. When he responded to her with that shy smile she almost wanted to hug the kid. It seemed like a sweetheart. Smiling at him she nodded when he guessed who she was. "First off, yes. That's me. Glad you could make it to the party. And second, congratulations. Graduating will open a whole new world for you kid." Giving him a friendly smile she had then greeted Morana. The boy's reaction to the other woman showing up amused her. Shy kids. They were entertaining sometimes but she remembered being like that.
She grinned at the brownrider. "Good to meet you Morana. And yes, Harnteth wanted to help make everyone feel welcome...so she is greeting them." Ebylin said with a smirk. The green had insisted on being part of everything. So she was given the easy job. Hearing Morana's comment on the wine she chuckled. "You can thank O'rin later for that, he's a greyrider from my wing. He hand picked everything. I think some of it is from his personal stash...Wish I knew where he kept it all." She really was curious about that. The man just showed up with it all saying some of it was his and the rest was from the kitchen's stock.
While Morana spoke to Cl'sen she poured herself some wine as well and sipped it while looking around. Part of her hoping a certain someone showed up but another part of her trying to keep an eye on everyone. Not wanting anything to spoil this little get together. She suddenly perked up a bit hearing Harnteth in the back of her mind. I think I see O'rin coming back. I have told him his friend he was looking for is here already. Oh yeah...they were told to keep an eye out for Visani. A brownrider that O'rin kept mentioning lately. Alright Harnteth. This should be interesting to watch.
O'rin - Tag: Visani/Anyone
O'rin had left to get better prepared to be at the party. Sure Ebylin had said it was a casual affair but still. He wouldn't dare admit he was actually wanting to impress someone tonight. But Roseth knew, and though she didn't rub it in with words her smug emotions did. Smugness was not something he was used to coming from the grey. Somehow though the idea that he was actually going to go through with this made her so. Dressed in his best black pants, light cream colored shirt and a black vest to match his pants and of course black boots. Never where brown boots with black clothes...He was on his way.
Once in eye sight of the dining hall Roseth informed him, very excitedly, that Harnteth had spotted Visani for him. Faranth...why did that make his stomach knot up? Shards man get yourself together! Shaking his head he was determined not to act like an idiot. Dead set in believing that Roseth's emotions were what influenced him. Though in the back of his head he knew that was a terrible excuse. Once they landed Roseth could barely stand still to let O'rin slide down her shoulder. And the moment he was off she bounded forward toward a familiar brown figure and nearly ran right into him while crooning loudly and sweetly at him. Eeeemaaaanth♥ I missed you since this morning. Her rider just shook his head watching her act the way she did around the brown. Normally the grey was so shy, quiet, especially out in the open. But when Emanth was around lately she acted so...different.
Making his way inside he looked around at first and then spotting Ebylin he nodded to her and received a smirk in return. Moving further in he finally spotted her at the wine...ah. Smiling slightly as he noticed what she was doing. Tasting the wine. Chuckling he walked over to her and looking over the wineskins he quickly picked out one in particular before speaking to her. "Hope you're enjoying the selection. A few of them are my personal collection." He said with his charming smile in place.
ChoCoaTheArT - March 22, 2012 01:18 PM (GMT)
Visani Tag: O'rin / anyone
Roseth! I have missed you too!! Emanth bounced towards her and met her halfway, he extended his wings around her and nestled his neck against hers in a sort of draconic version of a hug. Visani is inside, she is excited to see O'rin again. he spoke privately with Roseth, not wanting to ruin the surprise that he had shown up to see her after all. He nuzzled Roseth and trotted a circle around her, bouncing away a few feet and crouching down much like a feline wanting to play when she turned to look at him.
Visani's heart rate spiked slightly at the sound of O'rin's laughter and smiling face. "I am but I haven't found one I like yet," she could feel her cheeks growing hot and a smile stretching across her lips while she nervously twisted her fingers in the loose fabric of her long blue skirt. Biscuit hissed softly at O'rin, but she was mainly alarmed by her mistresses nervousness towards the man than any action he had taken. Visi stopped worrying her skirt and reached up to scratch her flitt's chin, "It's alright sweetie. Sorry, she's not really fond of crowds. I didn't know you had a personal collection. I would love to try some of them." He looked spectacularly good in his attire, even his boots were shined. She'd been informed that it was a casual affair but still she'd at least wanted to look.. good. Better than when she'd seen him last at any rate. But surely not as formal as the woman who was talking to O'zen. So she'd worn a black top along with her favorite skirt that flowed around her ankles as she walked. Though she'd be breaking O'rin's rule of not wearing brown with black since she wore her brown leather sandals underneath since they were the most comfortable.
She was glad to see that any trace of the greyrider's previous melancholy had disappeared and that his eyes were bright and his short beard back into its normal trimmed state. She offered her empty glass for him to fill from the wineskin he was holding. Emanth's huffing laughter filled her mind, You knew he was going to be here! she was irritated with her brown for not telling her beforehand but also slightly relieved that him and Roseth seemed to have this all worked out. Yes of course I knew. he thrummed loudly, Then why didn't you tell me? Some warning would have been nice. Visani whined uselessly at her dragon, Because then it would have ruined the surprise.

Drienna - tag Ebony/ anyone
Drienna was in the bath when she heard about the get-together Ebylin had put together. One of the riders in the quintet of weyrs that shared that particular bathing chamber came in just as the greenrider was enjoying a post-scrub soak, and asked, "Are you going to the party?"
"What party?" Drienna asked, and, having got the details, she pronounced the party a wonderful idea and went to get ready, laughing as a loud, "Shells, woman, this water is barely lukewarm!" followed her into the hall.
Back at her own weyr, Frehleth was sleeping, so Drienna dressed as quietly as she could, pulling on an undyed cotton tunic with long sleeves, grey felt pants, bead-spangled leather shoes, and a wrap-robe knitted of soft, fluffy goat-wool -- it was a bit big on her, but she'd had it since her pregnancy and nothing was so comfortable. She was just grabbing a gaily patterned green-and-yellow scarf to wrap around her head when Harnteth's bugle sounded.
Frehleth snorted and came half-awake. Drienna pattered over to the green and stroked her headknobs. I'm going down to the Lower Caverns, darling. Shall I oil you in the morning?
Mmn. Have fun. Frehleth shifted and drifted off again, and her rider gave her a kiss on the snout, finished wrapping her head-scarf, and headed off down the outer steps to the bottom of the bowl. She could see other riders doing the same, and waved cheerily to a few.
At the Caverns' entrance, she called out a friendly, "Hello, Harnteth! Are you the official greeter, then?"
((Feel free to have your rider be the one Drienna talked to in the bath, if it takes your fancy!))

O'rin - Tag: Visani/Anyone ((prepare for cute))
Roseth crooned softly at Emanth with her eyes swirling bright blues and greens. Nuzzling him as he 'hugged' her and then rumbling happily as he trotted around her and spoke. O'rin is excited to see Visani too. He has a surprise for her.~ She said all secretively as he crouched down playfully. Roseth reached out and licked his forehead while flicking her tail back and forth like a happy canine. Trilling at him she flexed her wings as they were opened slightly, trembling in her excitement to see him.
O'rin smiled from both Roseth's bubbly emotions and from seeing Visani's cheeks change color as she spoke to him. Before he could respond the little gold with her hissed at him. Blinking in surprise he then chuckled at Biscuit. "Don't worry I understand. And yes, you're more than welcome to. There is plenty here." His eyes wandered over her as he spoke. Taking in how lovely she looked even in something so simple. Now...where did that come from? Oh stop it. You know you're attracted. Stop being dense. Clearing his throat he smiled his usual charming smile at her that turned to a bright smile when she held out her glass. Pouring the wine he spoke with a smirk. "This is a rather sweet wine, has plenty of body to it. I...felt you might like it."
Feeling his own cheeks grow warm he cleared his throat again. Moving his other hand to touch his pocket where his little gift was. He could tell she was talking to her dragon...that familiar gaze on her face. Roseth was laughing in the back of his head at how nervous he was. He had never been nervous around a woman before, except for his mother of course. You like her. You should tell her so. Tell her how pretty she is. You're thinking it. He almost rolled his eyes at his dragon's sweetly spoken advice. Though...she had a point. Clearing his throat once again he gave Visani another charming smile but there was warmth in this one. "Ah...just...thought I'd say, you look lovely this evening."

"You're N'ril right? Don't be too surprised, I usually try to keep track of who my wingsecond is."
Her indifferent shrug did nothing to keep N'ril's eyes from widening or his face from turning red. His mouth dropped open a little and stayed that way for a moment before he brought his hand to his face with a smack and groaned, "Oh, shards."
He let his hand drop and slumped against the table, propping himself up with his elbows. His face was the picture of embarrassment and regret as he looked up at her. "I'm a benighted wherrybrain. I'm so sorry. Of course, now I remember. I'm really sorry. I don't know what's wrong with me." He looked down at his wine and shook his head, frowning. He took a big draught and then looked back up at her sheepishly.
"So, how have you been? Now that I think about it, you and Quilith have been looking good in practice. I haven't seen you around much otherwise, though." He studied her face, trying to figure out if she hated him now. It wasn't entirely his fault he didn't know her well, but he still felt awful about his mistake.

Visani Tag: O'rin
Emanth wiggled with excitement Oh a surprise? What kind of surprise? his eyes glowed green with excitement and he pressed his face close to Roseth's like a child wanting to know a secret. I won't tell her I promise.
With O'rin's eyes on her, Visani had to resist the urge to hide her face behind her hand or cross an arm over herself. It wasn't that she was uncomfortable, more shy than anything. It didn't make sense though, she was never shy, more likely to speak her mind than keep it to herself anymore. Her eyes brightened when he told her what sort of wine he was pouring for her, it was exactly the type that she loved. "You felt I might like it?" She grinned as she swirled the glass and brought it up to her nose to smell it delicately and then take a quick sip. "Oh wow that is perfect!" she took another sip to savor the taste, chuckling as Biscuit nudged her face towards the glass to try a lick of the stuff that obviously had her mistress so excited.
The flitt trilled excitedly at the sweetness, Visani laughed and had to push her face away from the glass, "All this good wine is going to get her drunk." She rubbed Biscuit's neck, looking back at his charming smile when O'rin cleared his throat and also noting that Emanth was suddenly paying much closer attention to the conversation.
Her heart fluttered at his compliment and she ducked her head to try and hide the silly smile that seemed to want to make an appearance. "Thank you, I mean. I heard it wasn't formal but I.. wanted.." she huffed a nervous laugh and shook her head. She had wanted to impress him, but not in a way that she looked like she was trying too hard by going over the top. Just in a normal sort of pretty but at the same time not look shabby next to him in his always prim attire. She worried the hem of her skirt again with her free hand and smiled shyly at him, "I mean.. You look handsome yourself."

Aliena : Tag N'ril
Aliena took a swallow of wine, thoroughly enjoying the Brownriders embarrassed display. If she had been completely sober she would have enjoyed really rubbing the man's face in his mistake. Even a temporary Wingsecond should be familiar with who they were leading. Not that Aliena ever made things easy for her superiors , at least not on purpose. A combination of wine and some small desire to give the whole getting to know you thing a try kept her from taking advantage of the situation. She could feel her Blue's approval of her choice.
The woman sighed, looking slightly uncomfortable with what she was about to say. "Don't worry about it. You're still fairly new to the job so I'll let it slide this time." She gave the man a sideways glance as he downed a gulp of wine. She hoped her dragon appreciated this. It wasn't often to she got a chance to legitimately lay into a wingleader and she was letting this one slip by. Logically though it was better if she didn't adhere to her normal routine of pissing off everyone she came in contact with. Though she didn't like to admit it, she was growing tired of having to transfer every turn or so. Vaioa seemed like a decent place, one she could even see herself staying at for a while.
She gave the man a sharp searching look as he spoke. She wasn't use to people taking notice of her and Quillith, well unless she had disregarded an order. Though that was fun watching a Bronze or Copperrider get all red faced when a Bluerider dared to ignore them. Lately though she had been behaving herself during practice. Maybe it was the two losses, but she hadn't felt much like pushing her limits recently. "Ah thanks. Well I tend to keep to myself. Less likely to cause trouble that way." She answered simply, she wasn't use to this sort of friendly chatter. By now most conversations she engaged in would have deteriorated to name calling or a glaring match. "You're not doing so bad yourself." She offered. Much as she hated to admit it, the man was a decent wingsecond. "So are you and Nazacth
enjoying the new position?"

N'ril: Tag Aliena
N'ril was so thrown off by the question he almost forgot his embarrassment. He glanced down at his wine, considering his answer. D'ras had asked him a similar question once, and N'ril hadn't been afraid to answer honestly. But now....well, N'ril didn't want anything getting back to T'ech. Not that Aliena struck him as a gossip - that was actually quite unlikely, but...
The brownrider pursed his lips and glanced at some nearby riders who were teasing each other and guffawing. That's what he had come here to do. And now he found himself caught in a serious conversation with a bluerider that he was beginning to remember could be somewhat scathing.
"It's alright," he said, looking back toward the table. He let out a dry chuckle, looking up at her. "Although, I suppose I've just proven how suited for it I am." He paused, considering his words before adding, "We're more than honored by the position. And we're doing our best. But if I had the luxury to choose based solely on my own preferences, I'd go back to plain old wing-riding. Obviously, I have too many people relying on me to be that selfish, so I'm going to keep doing my best. But I hope Allagoth gets well soon."
N'ril squinted ruefully, hoping he hadn't just lost more of her respect. He sipped his wine and decided to change the subject. Maybe he could steer their conversation into cheerier waters.
"So, Aliena. If you weren't a rider, what would you do? Any craft strike your fancy in particular?"

Iscia - O'zen
Iscia's mouth turned up into a scowl. Isica was never jealous. Never. And she certainly wasn't jealous of that brownrider woman O'zen was with. She wasn't one to put herself forward in any sort of... relationship. "Of course not." She waved a dismissive hand towards the woman heading off for the drinks. "It's difficult for me to be that way, o mighty one." The grin returned. All flattering aside, it was nice to be around with a man like O'zen. He was charming, she'll give him that.
"Ah, I see..." Guess he was a homely person. There wasn't a lot of people Iscia would consider having come here, let alone return feelings of appreciation to someone of the same weyr. "I suppose so, but meeting others is also quite nice, yes?" He had met her, obviously. And she wasn't a bad person to get along with considering.
But now things were becoming boring. No one else had arrived yet except for weyrlings, blueriders, and greenriders. She couldn't have fun with them. But she didn't want to stay bored.
Hmmm... "O'zen," she purred to the man in her best sultry voice she could possibly muster. "What do you say you and I go somewhere... more private to talk at?" Iscia placed her hand on his arm, the grin returning. If she couldn't have fun with these boring folk, he would be her next bet.
Senyrae - R'nault
Senyrae hiccuped. "Excuse me!" Whether that was from the wine itself or just a bodily reaction, Senyrae laughed anyway at the silliness of it all. "Guess it's better than I thought. But believe me, it's good." She smiled brightly as the bronzerider took his own sip, patting him on the back. "See? Not so bad, is it?"
"Bresaith?" The girl cocked her head, thinking for a brief moment. "She's fine. Being Bresaith, I guess." There was no definitive way for her to say how the gold was. She was still the same, albeit becoming more leader-like in personality as she integrated herself as a queen of the weyr. But otherwise, she was still the cheerful little bugger Senyrae knew and loved.
"Yeah, being Bresaith." She giggled, remembering the time she and R'nault danced at the one gather with her dragon dancing, too. "Still the same. 'Cept now I think she's becoming a bit more bossy. Guess me becoming a Jr. Weyrwoman has finally gotten to her head, but she has fun."
She took another sip, and it was then the alcohol started to set in. Not by much, but it was slowly filtering through her system. Sighing, she laid her head on her arms, blinking up at her companion. "I wonder what's gonna happen when we graduate. Heh, now that I think about it, Bre will be flying soon..." Clicking her tongue, she giggled profusely. For now, it was just a silly thing for her to be thinking about.
Cl'sen - Morana and Ebylin
He couldn't help but puff out his chest a bit with what the greenrider said. "I can't wait. Rhoth is so excited and we're gonna be assigned off to our wings soon." A grin spread on his face. "I wonder who it's gonna be. All of them seem nice, but Rhoth seems to think being in T'ech's wing is good for us. But we'll just have to see." He perked up a bit. "Maybe I'll even be in your wing!" That made the smile return. Being in Ebylin's wing might be nice. She was a nice person, anyway.
"M-Morana... it's nice to meet you." He sipped at the wine again, enjoying the light taste and the ease it put in his muscles for a moment. "Neither did I, really. But it's nice. At least they get to have fun too, right? Though I think Rhoth would drive everyone crazy after a while." He smiled in spite of that. "But he's nice. At least to me he is."
Cl'sen cocked his head. He didn't know anyone by the name of O'rin, but Visani's name he at least recognized. T'ech's wingthird. She was a nice lady, he guessed, when she wasn't angry. But from what he heard, one of the bronzeriders here always seemed to make her angry. So he mostly stayed clear when necessary.
"I haven't met him, I don't think... But if I see him I'll definitely have to thank him." This was great. He kinda wished some of his classmates were here, though.

@Cl'sen, Ebylin, Rhoth, Harnteth
Morana had no idea who O'rin was, but she gave a soft smile regardless and glanced around the room, as if she could locate the greyrider she'd never even met. "Well, then, my thanks to O'rin." She raised her glass in sort of a mock toast, then took another long, slow sip to savor the drink.
Cl'sen's comments on his dragon made Merilla chuckle as she thought of her own. "I don't know if he'd drive my dragon crazy. Riometh is pretty friendly. He loves everyone." Ah, and in that sense he balanced her out so well. Riometh, why don't you come down and join the other dragons out here?
A fine idea! The brown replied happily. Promptly, he got to his feet and sprang from the weyrledge, opening up his sandy brown wings to glide down toward to lower caverns. He could see where the other dragons were gathering, and landed gently beside them. An enthusiastic bugle burst from his throat.
Hello!
Iscia
O'zen raised an eyebrow at Iscia's response to his jesting. Jays, he was liking her more and more. He knew many that said jealousy was an ugly trait in a woman, but he found it more annoying than anything - specifically, if a woman was attached to him enough to be jealous, she was too attached. Well, he wouldn't have that problem with Iscia, then.
"Yes, of course," he replied, shrugging. He met new people all the time, but it wasn't often he saw someone from Bitra. He had to admit to himself, he missed the place sometimes. People were more relaxed there than they were at Vaioa. It was too bad Morana was so bloody uptight. Well, whatever. Iscia was much better company.
At Iscia's suggestion, at the light touch of her hand on his arm, the corners of O'zen's mouth lifted up in a smirk. The suggestion in her voice was obvious; O'zen could barely believe his luck. They'd hardly exchanged a few sentences and she was already wanting to "talk" in private.
"I have a bottle of wine up at my weyr," O'zen suggested.
