Silence.  It was a sad day for the blind wolf.  So many of theirs had fallen in an attack from the Dog Faction not to long back.  He didn't understand why it was that they couldn't co-inhabit this place.  Dog and wolf could live together, the Resistance had proven it.

They had just hauled back the last of the dead, his beta, a good Rotwhiler stud.  Strong animal, with a loyalty that could not be matched by many wolves that he knew.  His mate, a charming Doberman Female had disappeared, he didn't know where she was or if she was alive or dead.  It was a hard world to live in war.

Slowly he rose, his nails clicking on the linoleum tiles that lined the halls of the Lab.  Even blind as he was, he knew the place well, wandering through it looking for his mate.  He knew that the loss of the Beta pair would likely be hard on her, and he wished to offer her comfort.  His ears pushed back as he drew his head up slightly into a short howl, calling through the halls for her, waiting for her call to tell him what his blind eyes could not... where she was.

Okay, it's done. I hope it's alright, but if there's anything wrong with it just let me know so I can edit and things.
How had it come to this? The loss of so many innocent lives.. even just the thought took heavy weight on the male's fragile heart, and he found himself deniying it. With every chance, he shook his head and told himself that it had never happened. Denial, it was only a form of self defence, because he couldn't bear the truth. They were gone. The Resistence had suffered so badly, and Cassian could only hang his head in silent respect for the dead. Lost in thought, the wolf found himself wandering idly through The Lab's hallways. He wouldn't have stayed, except for the fact he wasn't alone – both Alphas were present, and he thought it only decent to be in their company at such a grim time. Inhaling slowly, the white male padded onwards through the sombre enviroment, golden eyes narrowed in contemplation. It wasn't long before he halted, stopped dead in his tracks by the sound of howling. It was joyous to hear messages that told of safety, even if it wasn't for his ears to know. With a quiet sigh of relief Cassian started walking again, hoping his senses would lead him further to one of his Alphas. Yet, his stride wasn't at its peak, for an injured hind leg sullied every step, making it painful to travel. Not being the best of fighters, he was a little surprised he hadn't been amongst those deceased.. but fate's mercy didn't go unappreciated. Longing to seek out those who gave his life guidance, Cassian winced a little as he tried to pick up speed. Skidding messily around a corner, he almost doubled over in happiness as the sight of Alpha Amairee met his gaze.

“Alpha Amairee!” Cassian spluttered awkwardly, putting the pain of his injury to the back of his mind as he drew closer to the female. Glancing at her body, the wolf couldn't help but notice that awful-looking wound in her shoulder, and his brows furrowed in sympathy. There was no doubt she was a strong gal, but being the way he was, he automatically worried for her state of health. “You are injured.. but I couldn't be happier to see you.” Fighting back a genuinine smile, Cassian respectfully kept his eyes on the floor as he sat nearby her form. For now, it was relaxing to sit and catch his breath, but until he had paid his proper respects to The Resistance's losses, he feared his own personal despair.

She was laying under one of the steel tables still bolted to the floor. When she heard the clacking of nails she forced herself to stand and move out from under the table. She was to tall to stand up completely under it.

Her tan pelt was marred with red, both hers and anothers. She was in no danger of death but it didn't mean she was healthy either. Normally she was much more cautious of newcommers but after the loss of their pack, includeing the beta female. Who was the closest friend she had, she had been careless.

She had a gorge on her shoulder from another set of fangs. She was lucky though, had she not been larger than the wolf, it would have likely found her neck. She had a few nicks in other places from claws but her shoulder was the only substantial injury.

When she heard his call she relaxed, letting her body settle back to the cool floor. She could not turn her head enough to clean the wound and she dare not go into the river, even if they were deemed safe.

So instead she hoisted her dail and returned his call. Her tones were even, clear but they carried a message, - Do not fear for me when you nose finds me , I am safe.

Even as she laid, her long legs streched infront of her and her dail was up awaiting to see him round the cornor, with so many of their pack gone, knowing he was close gave her comfort.

***EDITED ****

When she heard the ivory brute round the cornor her maw parted in relief. Since the last sermish between the warring tribes it was always a relief to see one of their own come home, safe or otherwise.

She could see him bawk at her shoulder and forced herself to her feet. Her movement was strained both due to the wound but also to the fact she quiet odviously carried the cubs of her mate.

"Cassian, I am glad you are safe, dear friend."

The alphaess while deadly in a fight was gentle to her pack. As she moved and let her tounge lull over his maw in a comforting gesture to ease his fear of her shoulder.

She moved to sniff his injured leg, her tail down in concern.

"How is your leg healing?"

She let her tounge carress the leg wound to clean out what ever grit may have found its way there during his travel. Her auds perked again breifly and she looked to the hall, she heard him...she knew he was coming.

"Jonah Will be here soon."

Once content his leg was clean she lowered herself down to the cool floor again a grunt as her shoulder complained against her movements.

His sensitive ears picked up movement.  Too far away for his sensitive nose to tell.  His flight started forward.  He knew these halls well enough to be able to run them even without his site.  Only about halfway down one of the flights of stars did he finally recognize the scent as the ever faithful Cassian.

He knew the wolf to be... somewhat of a dog sometimes... all puns intended, but he also knew that the brute was heavily protective of the family, and that really was all Jonah asked of his pack.  He didn't need them to be sweet and happy people.  Just to be here with him and safe.

``Cassian, Amariee.  Are you both alright?``  He chuffed as he moved into the room.  He moved to his mate first.  The blood he feared might have been from stress, and that stress might have caused her to abort the pups, but he didn't smell pups he only smelled blood.  he allowed his tongue to push over her wound before turning an ear and a blind eye to Cassian.  ``Thank you for tending to her friend.  How fair you?``

When he entered the room she would chuff toward him though a more high pitched sound from her than the wolves the message was the same. Hello and glad you home. When he scented her she let him, occasionally offer little licks of greeting to the other's face and maw.

When he cleaned the wound she couldn't reach she rested her head on the floor, a quiet keening sound escaping the proud bitch. She didn't like to whine but damnit, it hurt!

Still, having it clean was always a plus. She let her snout press into her mates shoulder drinking in his scent and reassureing herself that at the very least the three of them remained.

"It's just my shoulder, a new wolven bitch I've never known before. "

She made it home.  But barely.  Her body was riddled with deep wounds which that stupid husky had riddled her hide with.  But she had taken down two of his useless mutts.  And Sergi had taken three before he died.

She dragged her body across the clearing towards the Lab.  Her eyes drank in a sight she didn't wish to see again.  Sergi's mangled form.  Throat torn from the proud Rotwhiler as if he were nothing but a pup.  Her ears fell and a soft whine escaped her.

Live in the now, don't let the passed rule you.  she remembered him telling her.  He would have called her weak for mourning him when there was still work to be done.  But frankly, she didn't care.  She loved the stupid brute.

He front leg was mangled bad, and she carried it drawn up against her chest, her stubby tail was low against her body, her pointed ears pushed back as she came over and nosed the body of her lover.  The litter that they had was not more then six months dead, and now he joined them.  ``Tend to them beloved, I will see you all soon enough.``

That was the last she had to say to him before rising and moving into the Lab.  She had been missing for a night now... and was sure the others were worried about her.

Her black and tan hide was covered in mud from where she had rolled in it to seal the bleeding wounds.  Her eyes showed none of their normal firey color in their redish brown hues.  She was not broken, but she was as close to it as she had ever been.

She didn't make it to where the alphas and Cassian were before she collapsed, physical pain her secondary, but now that she was inside, away from where other's could see her, the emotional pain struck hard.

If she was human, she would be sobbing, but instead she simply wined softly, her good paw over her nose to cover her from the world.  She couldn't do it, she couldn't just let him go as if he had never meant anything too her.  And who here, beside Sergi him self, would ask her too?

``And I should gather this new bitch not to be sympathetic to our cause?``  He asked softly in answer to his mate's question.  He never knew what she looked like, it was affection alone that guided him, for all he knew she could be riddled with such scars, but he didn't care.  His tongue tenderly cleaned the one open wound on her shoulder.  ``I trust you gave her something to remember you by?``

A smile touched over his wolven muzzle when he asked such a question.  Slowly his haunches folded and he focused his attention elsewhere, those ears turning back as he heard the limping in the halls... and the smell of fresh blood accosted his nose.

``Who is it?``  He asked turning to face the direction it came from completely, his nose working wildly in the air trying to identify the scent.  ``Demona!``

The bitch would turn her head and lick at his shoulder in gratitiude as he cleaned the wound. When asked if she would be sympathic the snort from the large bitch was responce enough.

When asked if she gave the bitch something to recall her by she licked his snout a smile gracing her muzzle.

"A deep cut to her hind, she may never walk right again."

She started to speak but regarded his body movements and then the look of alarm. She stood pain or otherwise. She captured the scent even though she didn't need to know as her mate named who it was.

There was another scent there too, but so far mingled with blood and others-

No.

She pushed forward past the alpha, she paused only a half second to note the beta male. He was gone, more than one bit missing...none can survive such things, even one as strong as their beta.

No, her focus was toward the beta female. Her snout pushing against her pelt and drinking in her scent trying despretyl to make sure she was physically alright, while also offering her own comfort.

"Demona.."

It came as a keen, her own wounds forgotten as she checked her bestfriend's injuries
