Sasha padded over the shadowed earth with quick steps. she went in no general direction but simply wandered wherever her four paws took her. this time she ended up coming to rest at the edge of a cliff, overlooking the dark of night in all of it's haunting glory.
snow-white ears slid back as the female canted her head to the side and pawed at the air. deep blue eyes searched the moon in the evening sky. she longed to be a true part of things. she longed to know what life she could have known if she lived during the time of man. for her- she only knew corruption. pain, broken memories and the enemy. the enemy that waited and waited and would never rest.
There would be no peace in her heart. She snarled and snapped at a slow moving butterfly that flittered by her nose. it irritated her. to see something so young, so beautiful to be here in this cruel world. it wasn't right. Irritated, she sat back on her haunches and closed her eyes. still listening with her ears pinned forward sasha tried to think of a way to escape this feeling of loneliness. there would never be resolution for her. now that she was getting older every day was a struggle.
she was starting to become bitter... it showed in the way she walked, bo-legged and stiff at the sight of anything that she used to love. slowly...but surely she was drifting away from her nights of puppy dreams and shifting towards a world of black darkness. what could save her now? Nothing.

Ohhhh what was that??? She was as white as he was.... interesting.
Mismatched eyes of brown and blue fell upon her as he was wandering alone
through the lands. He wasn't no little pup, he didn't need Bowie to
protect him. He was a wolf killer! Well maybe not yet... but he would
be. And the best damned wolf killer ever!
The pit bull started to come forward, however, what Bowie had said to him
before wafted through his mind:
"He heard you, Next time lay on the ground and sneak
until your close enough. Don't give yourself away." Yeah,
he didn't want to give himself away. He would lower his pudgy little body
to the grown and slip forward, his tongue stretching out over his lips as he
moved, trying to stay hidden from the fluffy white thing. She was
definitely bigger then him, but much smaller then Bowie.
He could take her.
He crept closer, not nearly as stealth fully as he
thought he was.

When the little runt began to crawl forward, sasha had already heard him. Three...two...one...She spun around, her curled tail flung back in the wind as she turned her face to him, ears drawn back, white pearls flashing dangerously.
"Think you're that clever, runt?" She asked, drawing back to sit on her haunches in front of him, she had recovered quickly once she realized that her stalker had merely been the pup- Slade.
"Don't count on your luck, sweetheart. For it won't save you from a nasty bite to your hide. If you had tried that on a stranger, that's exactly what you would've received. Be more careful, will you? If you had gotten hurt because of my instincts- well, how would that have looked to bowie, hm?" She sighed, and those snow white ears rolled forward slowly, as she gazed upon him with those passive eyes.
Sasha may have been a small dog, but she was a fierce one. Size didn't matter- that surely applied to her. She yawned, those pearled fangs showing up again, but this time they weren't directed at the pup. letting her tongue slide out to lick along her maw she watched him for his reaction.

[ooc: so apprently sasha is a pack memeber correct? Not a new face? ]
*Bowie watched from the tree line, he had shadowed the pup for the last hour or so. After all when one says they are napping and lay still for less than ten minutes its not hard to peg when mischeif was afoot.
Mischeif in this case - we will call slade.
When he saw him stalk a smirk fit it'self soundly on his maw.
Had it been anyone but one of their own he would have stopped it. If she had snapped and connected he would have complemented her. While he protected the boy he did not proect him from his own stupidity which could serve as a lesson learned.
The brute pushed forward, silently. Bigger than both by a long shot but down wind and silent neither would see him.

When the little white dog spun around and faced him he would freeze, his ears
back tail down, but all the short hair along his spine raised and that lip
peeled back away from needle sharp teeth and powerful jaw muscle tensed.
Even as a puppy he could deliver a bit that would be fatal to many dogs if he
got the right grip. He did not however come forward and attack.
"Think you're that clever, runt?"
He blinked at her as if she had spoken french. His anger only rising
when she called him runt so that a low growl now joined the spiking fur down his
back. Those mismatched eyes looked at her with a madness that seemed to be
unbefitting a creature of his age. ``I don't have to
think. I know. Bowie is teaching me.``
"Don't count on your luck, sweetheart. For
it won't save you from a nasty bite to your hide. If you had tried that on a
stranger, that's exactly what you would've received. Be more careful, will you?
If you had gotten hurt because of my instincts- well, how would that have looked
to bowie, hm?"
``Bowie woulda said I deserved to get bit for taking on
a foe I couldn't defeate. But don't count me out yet sweetheart
I got a bit too yah know?`` He growled, rolling his jaw slightly,
it made a sickening popping sound as the jaw locked and released. A
disturbing grin tugging over his features. He had no idea that
Bowie was lurking near, so it could not be said that he was showing off for
Bowie. To the contrary, he was usually not nearly so nastily aggressive
when Bowie was around. No, he was not showing off, he was showing his true
colors.

when the runt spoke up and got aggressive, sasha watched him with a passive stare. When his fur spiked up and he took on the impression of an angry porcupine, sasha couldn't help to grin herself.
" So you have some fire in you, good." Regardless of how clever Bowie might be at sneaking around and coming up without notice, sasha's instincts were just as sharp. She looked down at the puppy.
"Shh, I think someone else is here." she lifted her nose to the wind and tried to catch a scent, no luck. the wind wasn't pointed in her favor. She tilted her white ears back, canted her head and listened.
" there's no use in trying to stay hidden," she said aloud, as her dark blue eyes began to scan the area around them, she stood, and came to stand over the pup. regardless of their little spat, he was a pack member and so was family. she would protect him. Snow white fur raised slightly as Sasha pinned her ears back and allowed a low growl to escape from in between her maw.
To all of those around her, whomever they may be, it would be a solid warning. an intense growl, much fiercer then the little pup's own.
"Show yourself," she called out into the wind.

Auds pivited forward as the cub did a ratther snooty imintation as himself. The boy was right he wouldn't have cuddled him if he had been bitten. He personally was quiet proud of the way he stood up for himself.
As the bitch disregarded most of his challenge only commenting on the fire with in himself. Bowie had no intention of being involved. Steely steady eyes watched as she challenged what she didn't know.
There were no others in the area, just himself. So for that reason he moved forward a deep barreled growl.
"Careful , who you call out in a challenge, pet. "

When the white bitch saw who she had challenged she immediately stopped growling, pinned her ears back and tucker her tail down a submissive stance taken as she backed away from the pup, still standing tall, she slowly lifted her eyes to meet the alpha's face.
"Bowie...forgive me. I didn't know it was you." She turned her body against the wind and stepped forward, slowly approaching him those ears still back against her fluffy fur.
"You're a good sneak." she said softly, and came up to brush her fur against his own in normal dog behavior when one is happy to see another pack member. She lifted her nose, and sniffed at his fur for a moment before she turned her head to look back at the puppy.
"Slade here is learning beautifully from you. He's got a bite in him, I'm sure." she smiled down at the pup.
"When I was your age, I was a peaceful little fur ball...but times are hard on us now. I don't blame you for having instinct." She commented, her voice much more relaxed now that she had made peace with Bowie.
